I really loved everything in this place, my first time here was 5 years ago, and only stay there for 1 night, but this time I booked 3 nights and while I was there I decided to book 2 nights more because I was having such a great time. It’s such an incredible place to make new friends, to party and also is very well located right in front of the beach and if you want to go to the clubs you can also walk! I loved every second of it.

I went to the hostel solo and enjoyed my stay immensely. Great staff, clean, modern, beds comfortable, lockers available. I also ordered breakfast, which wasn't exceptional, but I was glad I didn't have to worry about anything, for $5/day it's worth it. The hostel is close to restaurants, clubs, shops and beaches. There's also a bus that takes you all over the hotel zone for about 12 pesos. I definitely recommend visiting Isla Mujeres, simply beautiful place, gorgeous sea. Every day there is an event at the hostel in the evening, so it's lively. I met a lot of people who made my holiday unforgettable. I have to mention the bartender Christian who made me great drinks the whole stay. I thank the hostel for everything and look forward to coming back again.

The only thing that can be annoying is the loud music from the bar that can be heard in the rooms. But I was so tired that it didn't bother me.

The Hostel was very well furnished, and the bar and common area were lovely. The dorm was large and bright and had air conditioning which was much needed. The food from the hostel was delicious, however a little bit expensive. The organised activities and happy hour in the evenings were so much fun and a great way to meet new people.

The kitchen was not the cleanest and the fridges were packed overly full. The kitchen also lacked a kettle, which made cooking difficult. The hostel is fairly loud late at night as the bar continues to play music that can be heard from the dorms.

Tha Mayan Monkey Hostel is a lively place in the hotel zone with a good location. Close to the beaches as well as center, eating spots close by. They also have their own bar for drinks or food and breakfast is offered (very nice!). The pool offers a view over the lagoon and the towel for showering was strongly appreciated. Bathroom and beds were clean, towel for showering was appreciated. Staff was very friendly and organised transport to the airport. Even though I didn't have time to attend, it was nice to see the amount of activities offered there. Can fully recommend this hostel.

Nothing negative to mention.

I got a bed on a shared room for 8 people. The beds are framed into and they have a privacy curtain, and you get a wall plug there and another one in the locker. The lockers are good for a carry on-medium size luggage, anything bigger just stays outside. The water slide is not working anymore since the bay is now infested with crocodiles and it's not apt for swimming, but they added an outside pool on top of it in a really great spot by the bar area. The view there is great, the music as well, the drinks are good and cheap, the beer is passable. The kitchen was really well equipped, although they make really great breakfast for a good price. They even have a coworking space, although it needs a bit more sound proofing. I was honestly thinking about just staying there and chill for another week or two.

They only have a small AC unit for each room which has a negligible effect. The climate was nice at night, but getting in from being out in the sun to lay down and rest felt a bit uncomfortable. But honestly, everything else is great.

The location is great in Hotel Zone, 3 minutes to chacmool beach. Very clean and very comfortable, worthy of each and every of your penny. The staff are very nice! Especially, staff Dave and manager Gabe are very friendly, considerate and extremely helpful. l lost my luggage during ADO transfer, Dave and Gabe helped calling and following up, and found my luggage right next day, that actually saved my whole trip! I loved this hotel, and extended 3 more days stay……

Mayan was undoubtedly my best social experience during my time in Mexico. The coworking place has an incredible, magical atmosphere, filled with friendliness. Andres, the manager, impressed everyone with his dedication, working behind the bar and serving breakfast to all guests. The Argentinian girl a staff member was incredibly kind and genuine. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and wish I had more time there. The location is excellent, with a clean and well-frequented beach just across the street. I will definitely return.

Perfect location for young people looking to socialise. Every evening AND day the hostel has fun socialising activities. The pool is more like a large tub that always has folks sitting and sipping on a drink. The games and decor ensure a vibrancy. Location also excellent. Very safe, near all the night party spots like coco bongo and the beach (5 min walk) and yet peaceful enough to have a silent sleep

My mattress had lost a bit of its firmness and could do with a change. Nothing serious though. I did get a good night sleep. I would definitely stay here again and have rated the property 10

Amazing location, very good environment meeting other people, and the staff are very friendly specially Dave who organized activities among the other staff from the hostel, he should get a raise!😌 it isn’t my first time coming to Mayan Monkey, that says a lot about this good hostel

The internet connection sometimes wasn’t the best, but overall everything is great

Outstanding location, great value for money. Good food and beverage options and an amazing breakfast menu that’s great value for money. Plenty of amenities and facilities and seating area in the communal areas.

The bathrooms in my dorm could’ve done with a bit of shape up or deep cleaning as the walls have started peeling and there was some mould evident. Same for one of the walls inside the dorm itself. There are various types of seats in the communal area but none of them are overly comfortable.
