location within the Medina walls. close to restaurants and shops. staff was friendly and had good recommendations.

note we stayed in the top floor with our own private terrace. the view was amazing . Note there is no lift( we knew this when booking) 5 flights of stairs is a lot but the staff were gracious and helped with our luggage. Essouira is a fishing town and the property is close to the fish market which means smells which accompany this. The most annoying part was the constant sound of seagulls that sounded like cats! All night long. I am a light sleeper so this interrupted my sleep. The birds were right outside our window balcony all night long. Still a very cool old building with lots of Moroccan charm.

Excellent staff, wonderful location, great breakfast, we are regular visitors to Villa De L' Ô and love the location and the team led by the wonderful manager. The views are terrific and you feel like you are visiting a good friend. Very unique Riad hotel in Essaouira.

Needs a bit of a clean up and reinvestment in some areas. Toiletries, towels, bathrobes and a general polish. But great old world feeling and feels very comfortable.

Splendid riad with an Old World colonial charm (rather than traditional Moroccon decor). The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. The common areas such as ground floor salon are even more impressive and tasteful. Staff is extremely nice and helpful for all sorts of errands. Excellent breakfast with long hours (8 to 11am). A real gem at affordable prices.

I find other travellers' comments on the condition of the hotel exaggerated. Yes it is a little old here and there but that's the charm, and everything works fine. The top terrace with the best view is indeed small and dirty with bird droppings but the main terrace is spacious with plenty of sitting, though no shade or bar when we stayed there.

The breakfast was utterly amazing - served by the most brilliant and friendly staff. The view from the roof terrace is spectacular and we were treated brilliantly. Redouane was the best and most helpful Manager we have ever experienced and the whole team looked after us from booking anything we requested, to making fabulous suggestions on where to go and what to do. They really exceeded customer service. The hotel has such charm but perhaps needs a little love spent on it but it was an excellent location, full of quirkiness and amazing staff.

Not a lot. Perhaps the hotel could have a touch up and perhaps bring the price down a little to be in line with it's competitors.

I felt as though we had stepped into a movie set! It's a "character" Riad with the best view! The service was excellent and staff were always ready to help. Breakfast was served on the rooftop each day. It's a short walk to most attractions - we will be back!

Probably would have used some of the downstairs lounge areas more but they were too dark for reading. Not a deal breaker.

The staff were fantastic, really helpful and made you feel welcomed. The location was perfect, close tot he beach but also just in the city walls. There was a jazz festival happening at the end of the street, rooftop bars of all different price ranges, we walked along the beach and enjoyed the horses and camels wandering by, very surf chilled place. The building was beautiful, I was 100% stay here again. The breakfast was also perfect.

Villa De L'O is one of the most relaxing environments my partner and I have stayed in worldwide. The staff are so polite and are always happy to help with a smile; breakfast was delivered with lots of fresh fruit and baked bread & pastries, also with eggs cooked to your liking. The on-suit bathroom, with its sunken bath fit for two, was terrific. The big windows open up with fantastic views overlooking the bay. The location is spot on, with everything on your doorstep and beautiful surroundings and small alleyways to explore.

The staff was so nice and helpful, going beyond expectations, trying to help locate my suitcase lost by an airline. The hotel is really gorgeous and very well situated in the medina and close to the beach, with good wifi, a really nice place to stay in Essaouira. Thank you !

There was a really kind staff and Nourradine was always there ready to help. I thought he owned the hotel, he was just so attentive. The people at breakfast and who did the cleaning were smiling and efficient and we were made to feel totally at ease. We loved our stay!
