A lot has been written about the Riads in Marrakesh, and at least ours, the Riad Albatoul turned out to be an extremely tidy, welcoming and peaceful gem in the heart of the Medina! On top, we have been taken care of perfectly by the open and friendly hosts running the Riad, and we enjoyed the quiet nights and very varied and delicious breakfasts. Please note: As the Riad is located in the middle of the very busy Medina (TRULY only a few 100m distance to the main place, Jemma El Fna), we would strongly recommend the shuttle service to/fro the airport, also organized by the Riad. We do rate the full experience with 5 ⭐, the Riad itself even higher, if possible!

We travel a lot both for work and leisure. A Riad in Marrakech will always be a unique stay, but this particular one has exceeded every expectation. The unique touches of the property are reflected in all the photos, what you can’t see when you book is how great the staff are at the Riad. We felt extremely welcome from the second we got picked up from the airport, got dropped off and walked to the Riad by Ahmed (property manager) and was offered Moroccan tea up on arrival where we discussed what’s in the area and listened to suggestions on food spots, activities and sight seeing. Ahmed has been closely advising and adhering to any requests we may have had. Checked in to ensure we were comfortable and has been honestly the highlight of our stay. While I write this for any travellers I am hoping the owners of the Riad have a read and realise what a gem of an employee they have managed secure and I hope that he is paid fairly for the service he provides and time he invests in every traveler that stops by this amazing Riad - a must stay in Marrakech.

Marrakech is one of my favourite cities. This was my third trip and the rest of my family’s first time in the city. The riad looks exactly like the pictures. The riad is a 10-15 minute walk from the main square (depending on how busy the pathways are). We arranged our own airport transfers and Ahmed liaised with our driver to meet us close to the riad, walked us into the property, showed us around, and gave tips on downloading Maps.me, places to eat near the riad, and activities to try in Marrakech. He answered any queries we had pre-check in and upon arrival. He was at our beck and call, and everything was dealt with and handled promptly. During the night, Ahmed’s brother Mohcine was there for us, from welcoming us back in the evenings after a day of exploring to making mint tea for us before bed. I cannot fault the service the two of them provided. The service was exceptional. We only tried the breakfast, and you can tell from the food that the chef, Aisha, loves what she does. The food was always warm, fresh, and delicious. The riad was quiet at night, and you couldn’t hear the hustle and bustle of the Medina during the day or night. The beds were extremely comfortable, the bathroom clean, the shower pressure amazing, and the rooms spacious. Everything about our stay was excellent. I’m already planning to return to Marrakech for a fourth time and I'll definitely be staying at Riad Albatoul. I couldn’t recommend this riad enough.

Amazing location very close to the main street and 10 min. walking to the main square. Anyhow, so quiet and relaxing inside: you hear the birds only, then silence and peace. Nice traditional room and bathroom, all very clean. Delicious breakfast prepared daily fresh and served in a very cozy place. Worth it to try the dinner prepared in the Riad by booking it in advance (in the morning). It is really delicious with big portions and romantic atmosphere. Super friendly and helpful staff: Ahmed and his brother are really nice people always willing and available. Absolutely recommended!

Everything about this riad is tranquil. The minute you step inside everything is clean and quiet and the staff are so attentive to whatever you need. We stayed for 3 nights and it was perfect. Close enough to the souks without being directly in the hustle and bustle of things. 10 min walk to the main square. The breakfast everyday was amazing, so much food and was all very nice! We would definitely come back to stay next time we visit marrakech. Can't thank the staff enough for their help organising transport and activities.

Location - this is a calm oasis in the heart of the medina, very near the big square. Breakfast was freshly cooked by Aisha each morning and Ahmed was happy to listen to feedback and implement changes as required. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble: I had rooftop yoga, a henna session, hamman and massage, cous cous party - the latter of which I was unwell so sadly couldn’t attend. If you just want to do bed & breakfast, then go your own way - that was great; if you needed help and advice, Ahmed seemed to work non-stop to make your stay happy; if you wanted a lazy relaxing day in the Riad you could order food to be cooked specially and paddle in the pool and relax.

Everything was great, however, the pool is just for paddling & cooling off so some may find it too small. People with mobility issues could have issues reaching the Riad and going to the rooftop terrace.

We had a very pleasant stay here. The riad is beautiful, clean and conveniently located in the middle of the medina. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful, assisting with planning our days, arranging transportation and restaurant suggestions. Seeing as my greatest joy is finding nice restaurants and having good food, this was a major highlight. On the same note, a quite good breakfast featuring warm Moroccan pastries was served everyday in a gorgeous terrace. They were also kind enough to prepare breakfast for us in a day when we had to leave at ungodly hours. I would for sure book again. (:

I would highly recommend staying at this property. The Riad Manager, Ahmed, was absolutely fantastic - every recommendation he gave us for places to visit / eat were great. He went above and beyond every time - for example - I mentioned how much I enjoyed the melon during our hike elsewhere and he kindly brought some out whilst we were relaxing by the pool. We stayed here prior to and after doing a hike in the Atlas Mountains and it was a calm oasis close by to the busy hustle and bustle of the main square. Would definitely return and recommend to any friends. If you stay be sure to check out the 'before and after' transformation of the Riad!! Thank you again Ahmed, you really made our stay.

I don’t often write reviews but in the case of Riad Albatoul I felt that it was deserving. It’s in an excellent position just a few minutes walk to the Djemma El-Fnaa. restaurants and places of interest. The property itself is beautifully decorated and has excellent facilities. it is truly an oasis of calm after the chaos of the souk. The breakfast is sumptuous whilst home cooked meals were tasty and far better than some of the best restaurants in the medina. What really made our trip were the amazing staff. In particular Ahmed and his brother Mohcine who were helpful and couldn’t do enough to make your stay comfortable. I would definitely visit again and can’t recommend it enough for future travellers.

What an amazing find! We loved everything about the riad. The location is perfect for exploring the souks and all the main tourists attractions. Considering how close it is to the centre, it is so calm and quiet- the sunset from the roof top terrace was especially beautiful. The hosts Ahmed and Mohcine were so helpful and really made the stay very comfortable. The riad itself is beautiful and the breakfast was a highlight!
