The hostel is well located in front of a park, its very clean. It's easy to socialise. There is a laundry in the hostel which can be used for a good price.

I was surprised to know that there is no shared kitchen, neither a refrigerator to put your stuff, and that they don't allow you to buy your food outside (at least its on the rules). Luckily I could buy my food everyday in the near supermarket because I didn't liked the options they offer on the hostel coffee. I also found it difficulty to work remotely from my computer there, sometimes I wanted a quiet place, but the "library" (that actually have only fake books) is mostly of the time closed for the guests, the canteen is the only option that rest, but usually have loud music as well, like in the bar area.

The room was comfortable, had a storage space for which you'd take your own lock and the shower and toilet were clean and comfortable. The hostel was in a nice location, it was safe to park your bike outside.

The central area was loud and a bit chaotic in my experience, but most hostel-goers will probably find this a good thing - I was tired from long distance cycling, so would have preferred silence. The shower was spacious, but could use a small table or more hooks to ensure keeping your clothes dry. The locker was loud to open, both when moving it under or from under the bed, and when opening the latch. It would be good if the wheels get some spray regularly and if the box is padded with some felt tape to catch the latch where it hits.

Cool spaces.

Can be pretty noisy at night. Definitely trying to create a party atmosphere with free welcome cocktails and drinking games in the common area. Despite touting “family rooms”, definitely doesn’t feel like that’s their target clientele. We got no info when we checked in, we’re just given keys. No bedding in room, so had to go all the way back to the desk to be told it’s in the lockers and we need to make up the beds ourselves. Also needed to pay for and acquire towels at the desk. The shower never got above luke warm, even though the sink had hot water. Shower also leaked all over the bathroom floor.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I am happy I booked a hostel with AC in the rooms as I went during a heat wave. The common rooms are very well kept and super inviting and always buzzing with people. In general the price per bed was cheaper than hostels at more central localizations. The staff was very helpful and accommodating.

The location is a bit off center. I knew this when I booked but it turned out to be a bit more of a hassle for going out, you can’t just walk to the center, you have to take the tram or metro. Keep that in mind when you book this hostel.

Generator Amsterdam is by far the best branch I've ever stayed in among other Generator property. The building was previously a school so it has a cool layout. There's a lot of waiting spaces in the lobby to wait. We got a discount for the towels due to our rooms being late. Cheers to Nora, she was super nice at the reception. I booked 2 private room and 1 whole bunk bed room. All of them are spacey and clean!

It's unfortunate that 1 of mu private room isn't that accessible. Located at the very end of the wing, we had to go from floor 0 and bring up our luggage to floor 2 without any lift/elevator. You might want to drop a note to the accommodation and ask for more accessible room if you bring heavy luggage.

This place has great potential as a hostel although it seems to be more focused on the money than on building a community around the business. Breakfast was great and I really enjoyed having morning walk through the park afterwards. Bar staff very friendly.

Lack of any sense of hostel as a social space although the building, as ex university building, brings many communal spaces. In turns that in 3 days I made no contacts with other guests, and from my experience that is very unusual. Despite hostel staff was always available to accommodating my requests, it felt like they were doing 'just their bit'' like a hotel would. Unfortunately I couldn't see any manager around, so maybe that way of working was not ideal and results were fair but not great as they could have. Plus that was not my expectation from a hostel. So, I left a bit confused on the service I was provided.

Staff is always friendly and fast And it has a good restaurant

I like everything but the bar that they have downstairs at the basement where they make parties doesn’t do discounts for customers who are staying at the hostel or any deal or anything. A few times I wanted to join the party at this basement club and I asked at reception if I get any benefits because I’m a client of the hostel but they said no. So I think they can work on that so make some deal or discounts for the customers of the hostel who wanna join the party at this club which is inside the hostel .

The photos do not do this hostel justice - 100% recommend! Practically a hotel! The kitchen offered a buffet breakfast in the morning for less than 10 euro. The evening menu was great and opened late! Very good social area where you can eat food, the library room if you need quiet to work and offered fun things like beer pong! Room was clean (4 bed) with a bathroom and shower inside the room. Lockers under the beds which I really liked!

I thought I had booked a female only room but bookiing.com were at fault in the advertising of the room, not the hostel

The POD (capsule-type of bed) is interesting. The bed is quite spacious and the light is fancy and futuristic. There are many tables and sofas in the room for working, dining, and relaxing. There are different spaces in the building to explore. You can order food at the cafe in the lobby.

You have to pay for the towel. It costs 6 euros and not refundable when you return the towel. The POD floor has a bar, which is good for people who would like to go there, but otherwise, you always see strangers when you go to the bathroom at night with your pijama, and the toilets get dirty during the party nights.

Clean room and bathroom, great location near the park. Morning view was amazing. Except one person the rest of the staff was nice. This one person charged me double and when I told him he charged me double and made a mistake he didn’t even say sorry or accepted it, but another guy was so nice he refunded my money.

When I went to the room only two had checked in, and I was given an upper bed of the bunk bed, when especially I have requested for a bed down during my booking. When I went and asked one rude woman in the reception said that cannot be changed with no explanations. I had to convince so much and show my request to change my bed.
