Great location- walkable from Centraal Train Station, and in a lovely neighborhood. Rooms are quite small, but the street level bar/ gathering space gave us the comfortable space to hang out and enjoy a drink in the afternoons.

CONSTRUCTION!! The canal in front of the hotel is being refurbished, so there was lots of construction noise, and pretty much every time we returned to the hotel, there was a different walkway. It wasn't too big a deal for us, as we were mostly out during the days and evenings, and don't have any mobility limitations. But, if you have limitations or are looking for a quiet spot to rest, you probably would be disappointed.

1. The booking price was not final. There was also a deposit and additional payments. Be ready for this. 2. There is no convenient check out that can be done online or remotely. If the check out is later than 11:00, you will be pay an additional fee. 3. There was no hot water. The water was slightly warm, but not hot enough.

The property was stylish and chic. It was clean and looked very nice. The reception was one part of the building then you had to walk outside for the rooms but this wasn’t an issue. It was quite narrow and steep up the stairs but it was standard and no issue at all. The room was very clean and up kept by housekeeping everyday, it was a good size and the bathroom was nice and modern, the shower had good power and the beds were comfy. No issues at all. The location was good too because the centre was 7 min to walk to for me and a strip of good shops and food was around the corner. Loved this place and the staff were very helpful giving recommendations everyday and just very nice overall, not to forget the coffeeshop just around the corner.

The view from my room was just other rooms in a different building but that’s what you’re paying for when it says it in the description. The outside view is so nice because it’s the canals with a nice bridge so I would recommend a good view. This wasn’t too much of an issue anyways.

Location was spot on, friendly staff and very welcoming. Reception was very nice and clean Asked for milk for room and was served straight away. The whole building was spotless.

Had to ask twice for issue with toilet to be fixed, once on arrival got back from evening out and still not repaired, so had NO sleep first night due to continuous banging from toilet, but when we asked to move room the next morning the situation was resolved while we were out for the day. Had to also put kettle on the floor to boil it as lead wouldn't reach from top shelf so separate tea/coffee area might be better. (Small table under where situatted) tripple room.

My recent stay at the max brown hotel was nothing short of delightful. Nestled in a serene corner, this small yet charming hotel exudes cool vibes and tranquility. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality by the exceptional staff. Romi and Ramses, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was nothing short of perfect. Their genuine kindness and eagerness to assist made me feel truly valued as a guest. The room itself was a haven of comfort and coziness. Small but has anything you need in it .

No elevator. But the staff helped me with the luggage.

Location was perfect. Breakfast was nice. The rooms are small but all I needed. Staff are really friendly, very helpful.

The only thing was the taxi to the airport booked by the hotel for me. I was thankful for help with the booking, the taxi was on time and comfortable, but the price was EUR 70 so it felt like I was ripped off after a lovely city break and just as I was leaving the country. Booking an Uber myself would have been half the price. It really left a sour taste.

The staff are absolutely incredible, super helpful, really accommodating and nice. We stayed in two rooms:The rooms are fantastic and beautifully designed. The small room was completely fine and had a ton of space, and the small room with a view was beautiful and not small at all! And the view was amazing! Breakfast was simple but diverse and tasty :) And lastly this is my favorite area in Amsterdam it’s so beautiful waking up to the canals and staying in one of the canal houses. The hotel is clean and cozy!

The no elevator but that comes along with being on a hotel in the canal district. Not too many stairs tho!

Last minute booking and didn't quite know what to expect. Didn't even look at the pictures that closely. So I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived - friendly staff, room had a balcony which I wasn't expecting, cute decor, absolutely spotless. Definitely would stay again.

Was there on one of the hottest days of the summer and only when I got there did I realise the rooms didn't have AC. Luckily they did have a plug in fan in the room which made the hear bearable. Selection at breakfast was a bit light if you're there for more than a couple of days. No hot food other than boiled eggs and a toaster. Luckily I like yogurt.

Max Brown Hotel Canal District is a charming and eclectic hotel on the corner of the Herengracht and the Brouwersgracht. It's a lovely location close to many shops, dining, and cultural experiences. Very walkable to explore the Jordaan or other neighborhoods. Using trams and trains is easy, and it's 7 minute walk from Centraal Station, so easy to access via train from any major city or airport. The breakfast included hot foods, meats, eggs, cheese, coffee and juice, fresh breads and pastries, fruit, yogurt, and more. It was a delicious meal and they serve breakfast until 11:00am. I appreciated the warm welcome at reception and the offer for a drink on the house while I stayed there. I had a great clean room, comfy bed, with modern bathroom and plenty of space, Wifi, could make coffee/tea in my room, and a sweet garden view. Two windows opened for fresh air and to watch boats sail by on the Herengracht. I liked how Max Brown owns several canal houses together. They have luggage storage if you arrive early, bike rentals, great coffee and drinks on tap, and more. Awesome map and high quality suggestions on local restaurants and bars for my stay. I felt safe there on my own and lived like a local during the 4 days I stayed here, and I look forward to returning again soon, or to another Max Brown property!
