Small, but clean room with modern bathroom and aircon unit. Quiet location so good night sleep guaranteed. Very steep and narrow steps (like everywhere else in Amsterdam), but has a tiny mini lift which is an amusment on its own . Nice staff in reception, you can leave the luggage before/after checknin/checkout. Located around 35 minutes walk from the Central station and 30 from Dam square, but plenty bars, cafes and shops on the way so feels like you are in the centre of it.
We didn't mind, but property doesn't offer breakfast.

Reception let us check in early and upgraded both rooms on arrival which was a blessing. A small double which was perfect for one and a double which had a lot more space for two people. Rooms were next to each other and on the first floor, I recommend putting in a request for both if traveling as a group, as the stairs are extremely steep and narrow. The hotel does also have a small lift. Staff are really friendly, rooms are clean with a hair drier, safe and you can buy water at reception. luggage can be stored at reception. Surprisingly quiet although on busy main road, earplugs a nice touch. Recommend a breakfast place round the back called Teds.
Room had tea and coffee making facilities but only two tea bags and no milk. The mattress in the larger double room had a big dip in the middle so wasn’t comfy for two people. A vending machine could be nice as no local shop. Also worth noting: The hotel is further out of the center than we realised. It can be a bit of a nightmare as the first few roads/canal edges you have to cross priorities cars and bikes with not much path for walking. Nearly got taken out by bikers a few time. Nearest tram stop is also about two roads away and the Central station a taxi drive away, too far to walk.

Very friendly staff. Room was small but expected in European city hotels. Fine for a short stay or if you are not planning on spending too much time in your room. We were only really sleeping there so it was ideal. Small bathroom but the rooms and overall hotel was very clean and neat. Crazy elevator experience :) If you are not able to climb stairs, ensure you are not on the 4th floor. Very good location and lovely area. Walking distance to loads of places.
The bed was not all that comfortable with the top layer sliding off ... but it wasn't really too bad.

Location of the hotel is great, it is very easy to reach most of the important places by foot. A few steps from the hotel door and you are near one of the main canals. It is also on route of main transportation, therefore usage of public transportation is not a problem. Hotel personel refreshes coffee and tea daily, so you may grab your morning drink, cross the street and may enjoy it by the canal easily. Great way to start your Amsterdam day :)
Hotel room is a bit claustrophobic, this is most likely due to that, the hotel is converted from an old amsterdam building, therefore understandable from my point of view. Room description was room with a view, however, we had a room looking over a tight backyard, therefore it was hardly to describe a view. It will be better rooms on the back side of the building shall better be described with backyard view statement, otherwise it creates confusion and you are expecting a much wider view with typical amsterdam canal or street.

It was absolutely worth booking a canal view room! Rooms are cosy and compact but we found it perfectly fine for 2. Everything was clean, coffee machine and mini fridge were perfect. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location if you want to be central ish and walkable to the busy areas, but staying far enough away from it being hectic. Absolutely would stay here again. The "slowest" (also, smallest?!) "lift " in Amsterdam was also a novelty in itself!!!
This isn't a complaint as not an issue for us, we didn't mind taking the stairs, but the top floor is only accessible by a steep and narrow staircase. There are also very steep steps into the property.

The staff was extremely helpful. The room is not big but had everything I want for a decent accommodation - hair dryer, kettle, coffee machine, and even a small fridge and a safe. The bed and blanket were super comfy and I had very good sleep during my stay. The location is fantastic - close to trams, major museums, and affordable supermarkets.
As a typical Dutch building, it has a very steep staircase. There is an elevator but it does not cover the floor where single rooms are located. I happened to stay here when it was very cold (zero degree celsius during the day and minus five during the night) and the heating felt rather insufficient (the air conditioner is up on the wall and the hot air doesn't come down very quickly). It would have been nice if they had a small heater for these cold days. (But they generously provided me with extra blanket and it wasn't too cold in bed.)

It was the staff that made this stay so enjoyable. Amsterdam is made up of tall, skinny buildings, so to those who have left reviews complaining about the size of the lift, or the steepness of the stairs, or the size of the rooms, welcome to Amsterdam! So yes, the lift is small, the stairs are steep and the room is quite small, but the friendliness and eagerness of the staff, the good design in the rooms and the cleanliness and comfort all make these factors pale into insignificance. Amsterdam is not cheap, but this hotel is ideally placed for the centre, the Rijksmuseum, all the tourist attractions, whilst also being in a quiet part of town away from the noise and bustle of the centre. The staff were so kind and helpful, seriously 10/10 guys, well done and thank you. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend this hotel.
People need to recognise it is what it is, if you want a large lift, large wide staircases, a restaurant on-site, a bar on-site, then you will be paying 3+ times more than you will here. There was nothing I didn't like about the hotel.

I liked the room, especially the patio. I was worried that the patio might be dirty, but it was very clean. The space in the room was more than enough for both of us. The lady who checked us in was very helpful and pleasant, the other staff were very nice and warm too. Location wise, VERY GOOD because everything was close by and the tram station was a 2 minute walk only.
Everything was great however, the stairs leading to our room was a tad bit too steep. Apart from that, we enjoyed our stay a lot. This hotel will be our go to hotel whenever we're in Ams again.

+ Staff was very friendly and helpful! My credit card couldn't be processed for the deposit. Nevertheless, they reserved the room for me after I called and I didn't have to pay the deposit. + Loved the fact that they have very diverse staff, which made me (as a person of color) feel very welcome. + Room was of a decent size + Room was clean, and tidied by the staff each day + Sheets, pillows and towels were soft, fresh and clean each day. Housekeeping paid a lot of attention to detail while making up the bed. + Enough space to store my belongings + Fridge to keep things cooled + Heating was present and could be adjusted to your liking + Bathroom was spacious, clean and neat + Great size mirror & sink + hairdryer available + Large mirror on the door (great to check your outfits) + Option to make free tea and coffee each day + Location is great: 5 min. walk from public transportation in every direction of the city (tram)
- When I got to my room on the first night the room smelled of smoke, when smoking was supposed to be prohibited. - Shower only had a very small splashback, so the entire bathroom floor would get wet. - I couldn't get the shower adjusted to my height. It was broken, which was quite frustrating, since I didn't want to get my hair wet. - Water kept on getting cold, even when increasing the temperature regularly.

The location was easy to get to. It was close to transit systems. Restaurants were close by. I was happy with my small but comfortable accommodations.
Typical Amsterdam facility - treacherous steps to get from one floor to the next - not a 'real' problem, you just need to concentrate on climbing/descending the stairs. Small room - but another 'typical' Amsterdam issue.
