It is a very unique establishment. It was obvious that a lot of creativity and effort went into it's creation. I liked the decor of the first floor lounge and roof deck. I went for the breakfast buffet each day, which I thought was a good deal considering how much you can eat. I like to eat enough for breakfast so I can skip lunch when traveling.

I have never stayed in such a tiny room before. It was one of their "cabins" with shared bathroom facilities. I wanted to try it so I could see how well I tolerate it. I am a little claustrophobic. I was still adjusting to the time difference, which always makes sleep difficult. You can hear others coming and going outside the door. But when they are in the rooms, you don't hear them. I have to admit that the soundproofing is quite good.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience during my stay in the studio room at this hotel! The room's modern and stylish decor was impeccable, creating an inviting atmosphere that I thoroughly enjoyed. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the luxurious amenities, along with the refreshing shower, added a touch of sophistication to my overall stay. The delicious breakfast provided was a delightful treat, and the rooftop offered an incredible view of the city.

I was deeply disappointed by the hotel's lack of accessibility. The absence of wheelchair ramps posed substantial challenges for individuals with mobility limitations, making it exceedingly difficult for them to walk around the premises and access amenities such as the restaurant for breakfast. Additionally, the elevator lacked sensors and would thoughtlessly close its doors, often causing people to get hit in the process.

Amazing location. It took us 5 min by underground to get to the city centre. Understanding and easygoing staff. We had an issue with the room and it was instantly resolved. Free sauna and hot tubs on the terrace. It was simply wonderful.

Some room facilities. First of all, the bathroom was designed in such a way that if you take a shower, water gets everywhere and as far as the toilet and the shower is located in one room and there was no curtain as well, it wasn't really comfortable. I would rather have sort of a water stopper on the floor. Secondly, I wish we had an electric kettle. Yeah, it wasn't listed on their Booking site, yet it wouldn't harm. I needed some boiled water to dissolve my medicine and had to go up to the restaurant. Thirdly, there is no wardrobe. Just a few hangers. Additionally, if a quiet and peaceful room is one of your priorities, make sure you get a room not on the first floor. We couldn't sleep the first night coz the bar music below us was quite loud and disturbing and was on till 6 a.m..

My partner and I recently stayed at the Volkshotel in Amsterdam for 5 days. We have upgraded our small room to the cornered back bigger room, which was still a bit small but more comfortable then the basic one. The room was decorated in a stylish, modern style, and it had everything we needed, including a queen-size bed, a desk, a chair, a TV, and a bathroom with a shower. The bed was very comfortable, and we slept well every night. The view was incredible. The hotel is located in a great location, right next to the metro station, four stations from the central. There is also a local Albert supermarket very close to the hotel, which was very helpful. The hotel has a rooftop terrace with stunning views of the city, and there is also a bar and restaurant on-site. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. They were always happy to answer our questions and help us with anything we needed. Overall, we had a great stay at the Volkshotel. It is a stylish and modern hotel with a great location, and we would definitely recommend it to others.

The downstairs bathroom was a little bit under my expectations. I didn’t like the lightning, which was uncomfortable for me and the atmosphere. That was a little bit creepy.

Close to the metro - super easy to get into central Amsterdam, dog friendly, rooftop bar was really nice and the coffee bar downstairs was lovely too

Pillows were quite uncomfortable as were quite flat and only one per person, the air con didn't really work - you could set it to any temperature but it would just stay with whatever the room currently was and the only other slight negative was the parking - its great they have a parking area but it is quite small and it costs €25 a day so adds up after a few days

The hotel is very good for the working stays. In the room is a big windowsill for notebook, papers, books and other. And always on sockets. The rooms are nice with the modern design, clean and with almost all necessaries. Volkshotel offers very good facilities and services - a working places!!!, stylish café, music club, bar with restaurant and other services. You can working, have meetings and also have a fun, relaxing. And I appreciate, that is drug-free. The hotel is located next to the metro station and shop. It is also close to the museums and city centre - good for combining of the bussines and sightseeing travel.

I missed a fridge, in the hotels of this level it is usually a standard. And it's very useful to have also a kettle. The window could not be opened, there was only an air condition, which may be uncomfortable for someone. But the good points of Volkshotel highly prevailed the bad points.

Good sized rooms - we were a mixed family of 6 and booked a quadruple room and a double with a kitchen. This worked really well as we could do some self catering in the double and saved a bit of money on eating out all the time. Beds and pillows were comfortable (and we’re fussy!) room was cool with the a/c, breakfast was plentiful and good variety. Staff were exceptionally helpful and kind. Interior was very funky, quite a young, hip feel to it. Decor was sort of industrial. Felt like quite a party hotel but no problem at all with any noise at night.

Nothing really- a couple of shelves were a little dusty. We didn’t really know much about location when we booked but it was a little way out of the centre so be prepared to get a tram or metro into centre. But the area was lovely, peaceful and close to the river so it wasn’t really a drawback.

Hotel - clean not busy and you are able to sit in the bar/café downstairs and play games. Location - we walked into the centre from the hotel each day - it is not that far 30-40 minutes depending where you are heading. We did use the metro on the last day and it was very quick and easy to access the centre. Had we realised this we would have dropped the cases at the hotel when we arrived before exploring for the day. The metro tickets are valid for an hour so you have plenty of time to get the cases dropped and return back to the centre.

My son didn’t feel he had any privacy in the shower as there was just a chain door into the shower room. I had hoped there would have been more information available for tourists at the hotel.

The hotel is a lively place, with a coworking place, a bar with live music, sauna etc. So it's definitely a good place to meet people. I've got upgraded to some studio. Which has indeed a lot of space - a small kitchen of some sort, a desk, a couch. So it's a very good place to spend some days, you could work etc. The sauna on the top of the hotel and the hot baths are incredible, very well maintained and very nice views. Very nice people as well.

The said studio had the bed on the upper level. The bathroom was on the lower level. So if you want to pee at night you need to go down the stairs. The stairs themselves were cold and all in all they gave you the sense that you might fall on them and then. There was no way to sleep with the window open as the patio door would automatically lock at night.

This was our second time staying in volkshotel, we absolutely love it! Not only does it feel super safe the way things work with the key for the elevator and at each floor, the staff are absolutely amazing! They are so so friendly, really feel like they want to know the answers to the questions they ask you not just “making conversation” everyone is always smiling, just a happy vibe all together, as two people who enjoy walking the distance from the city centre was not an issue for us at all, it took us about 20 minutes to walk to the centre from the hotel but there’s also a metro station exactly outside the door if you don’t like walking or you catch bad weather! Would recommend this hotel to absolutely everyone! Don’t get turned off by the fact there is a club in the hotel! For me this was abit of an issue the first time thinking it will be very loud but you hear nothing and everyone is very respectful of the fact it’s a hotel first.

The only thing I would have preferred is a small mini fridge in the room, one of those that hold 2 or 3 bottles, just to have cold drinks but that’s just my preference other than that I cannot complain about anything!
