Very clean, reception were very friendly, especially the guy working night shifts, we arrived around midnight and he was so welcoming and helpful! Big selection of breakfast, good variety. Pretty gardens you could take a walk, surrounded by beautiful trees! Spacious room with a bigger than average shower, big windows that bring light into the room! Room was cleaned every day if you’d like to. So happy that we chose this hotel! So good, not only for athletes!

The air condition did not go above 23 celsius if i remember correctly, and it got pretty chilly one of the two nights. We were a bit cold and couldn’t change the temperature to hotter.

Hotel is set in a lovely grounds of a high end sporting facility about 15 minutes drive or 30 minutes bus outside of Arnhem (there is a bus every 30 mins from early until about 930pm). The hotel was convenient and cost effective accomodation for a concert at the Gelredome (for which return coach travel was provided by a partner of the hotel for a reasonable fee- this was very very ideal). Good communication from hotel prior to stay. Location would be amazing for a hike or bike ride.

The hotel is outside of town and based in its own facility so there are not any shops or many restaurants near the hotel in walking distance. Found Ubers from town to be expensive, so it is worth relying on bus from outside of hotel instead (although this stops around 930pm).

Very nice hotel in the middle of the forest, a very comfortable room, an excellent breakfast and very helpful staff. They have a nice sauna and fitness room with a wonderful view. Big parking lot and very smooth check in process.

It was strange to see an information card in the room indicating the possibility of room service and an extension number to call to place an order, but there was no phone in the room! maybe you need to update the information placed in the room. The sauna in the wellness area is great but the steam bath was not working and was a bit smelly.

This is an absolute hidden gem. In the middle of nature and yet a stone throw away from the centre of Arnhem. Public transport will get you there easy enough, including a refreshing 15 min. nature walk to get you to the entrance of the hotel. Once arrived you can hire a bike to make you even more mobile. Included in the price a sumptuous breakfast.

May be have rooms with a double bed as an option, could not find that option when booking so may well exist? Open plan is nice but when the partner did have a shower in the morning I did have a nightmare dream of drowning.😖

Met my expectation of a super neat hotel, with friendly staff and I was helped quickly everywhere. The price / quality level of chilled drink at the bar (until 12 o'clock) was fine, and you could even just pay in cash :) They allowed me late check in, and they even allowed others to check in without pre-booking (and with free room upgrade if normal rooms were fully booked). Location is beautiful, and easily accessible by bus EVERY WORKING DAY every half hour until 17.25h (in 10 min walk + 15 min bus you are in the center of the city)

Breakfast was not included as standard, and booking in advance for 20 euros per day at check-in @ reception I personally found very expensive. That's why I decided to score my croissant + cup of coffee elsewhere. Also, I thought I would find a bottle of water + water-cooker + coffee in my room as usual (which was not the case, although there were 2 drinking cups wrapped in plastic in bathroom). EVERY WORKING DAY in the EVENING location is accessible by public transport only 1 time per hour from 17.25h onwards, and later from 22.27h only by taxi (but only pre-booked 1 hour in advance, so be aware & plan ahead).

Very good and tough beds and room was quiet and airconditioned. Pillows were all same size and too high for my neck. I asked thinner pillow but it was not possible which was surprise. The pillow selection is standard in many hotels these days. The breakfast was really great, tasty and varied. The best I´ve had in Holland!

The attitude of the restaurant staff. Impolite and arrogant behavior from one of the staff in the evening when asking opening hours in restaurant. Arriving late for breakfast, many breakfast items ran out and were no longer served. Same, almost empty jam jars for 3 mornings, why?

I booked the hotel for 2 nights to visit Burger’s Zoo with my son. Hotel is a bit away from Arnhem center and we took taxi which was a good choice - very pleasant sir whose company works together with Papendal (greetings to the kind sir) who eventually took us also to the Zoo and back. I was glad to find out our room has a bath which felt a bit bizarre as I have been thinking about moving and having a bath instead of shower cause it is so much better. So we very pleasantly surprised. Beds were comfortable, room was clean. We also enjoyed some meals at the restaurant, good service, possible to sit outside or inside. Nature around which we enjoyed. Breakfast was very good, broad choice and when the pancakes were over those were made for us quick. When we left the hotel and were already on the way home my son realized that he forgot his toy Stokky somewhere. We did some investigating and found out he left it in the hotels lobby. I reached out to the hotel and thanks to Tessa & Ariane Stokky came home safe just in 2 days. We are honestly very happy with our stay at Papendal. Nice location, interesting design - as an sports hotel funny!

We stayed with another couple at your hotel. On arrival in the breakfastroom all tables for four where taken or dirty. So we asked a member of the stuff if would be so kind to wipe the table. The answer was short and rude , you can sit anywhere else. ( not together) The breakfast was not very good looked after, the bowls were not filled up, the tables messy - not the best experience.

Beautiful and peaceful setting despite the facility running events during the week in the hotel and around the site. Staff were always helpful. Although rooms are basic and unusual design they are modern and clean. Great location for getting around the area.

No coffee or tea making facilities, but we were able to have a kettle and cups when we asked. Had hoped to use their ebikes but hired elsewhere as found to be too big and heavy for small people.

Really excellent hotel. Modern facilities. Great location. Supportive staff. Parking for my motorcycle in a dedicated slot near the entrance. Great restaurant. Stunning breakfast selection available.

The light to the toilet is switched on by a movement sensor that you cannot isolate. Consequently, I had to take the card out of the switch by the door to avoid being woken up too much when I used the toilet during the night. All it needed was one light switch. Luckily, I always have a torch with me.
