Staying over in Hengelo during the NS train strike, the city hotel was a haven of comfort. Just exit the train station, cross the street, and almost at once you will see the sign to the hotel. The room was very spacious and extremely clean. Also very well equipped, with a desk, seating area, wardrobe with lots of clothes hangars, and tea/coffee making facilities. The 'welcome' gift of some chips & popcorn was a nice touch. The bathroom was along the same standard: separate shower and bath; nice toiletries; large mirror & beauty mirror; hairdryer; tissues. Staying here really helped lower my stress levels and I would certainly stay again, when in Hengelo.

To go the final centimetre to being really top, it would be nice to see: more variety of teabags provided in the room; more hanging hooks/rails in the bathroom. The lighting over the desk was also a bit dark.

I was surprised by the spacious room and the nicely appointed bathroom. Car park just about across the road is very convenient. Also, the hotel is very close to the Metropool where I was going for a concert.

My Australian credit cards did not work to pay. I had to rush out to find an ATM to get cash to pay. Also, on check in I wasn't asked if I used the car park - on check out I found out I should have paid on check in to get the cheaper rate. Fortunately they could still fix it.

Location was ideal for our business visit. The room was large and had both a shower and bath. Breakfast was of a good standard and available to meet out timetable.

Nothing really. It would be nice to have some additional facilities such as a pool or gym but that is probably outside the price bracket for the hotel.

Room was fine, breakfast very nice and mixed, well located, good infrastructure and kind staff. The hotel is nice specially for people who is visiting Hengelo for work in the nearby like UT or Thales.

The Internet service that was really bad for working, which made me spent some EUs in internet roaming. Also the hotel restaurant did not provide lunch or dinner - but the local food delivery app works properly with good price.

The City Hotel is in a very convenient location within the town centre. The room was well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. They have a pillow menu and supply complimentary water. There was also the added surprise of a gift which was crisps and sweets, this was a great touch! The staff were very friendly and helpful, I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel and I will definitely stay again in the future! It is good value for money and very clean and quiet.

Great service from the staff, food was lovely, room was well appointed and the large bed was super comfortable too. Perfect location for the station and the town's bars and restaurants. Breakfast served until 12.00 was appreciated after a late night!

Nothing really!

I wanted somewhere near to the railway station. I stayed just one night, arrived by train and caught another train in the morning. The staff were welcoming and gave advice on the various places I could eat at nearby. The hotel was clean and comfortable.

It is not very well signed. I was outside before I realised I had arrived.

The staff was very helpful and kind, they even let us take some food to the room since we arrived late that night from the soccer stadium. When you get in the room there is a surprise for you that was really nice.

The room was hot at night, there was no a/c and the mattress fell kind of old. But the pillows and bed linen were ok.

I wanted to say thank you to the chap who answered the call from me thing that I broken down and wanted to help me out very pro. Manager at the reception I think do was lovely and extended my check time later. Thank you i

Everything was good

Great location, friendly staff, held my bags as I arrived early. Great comfortable hotel, beautiful King room, bathtub was a nice treat and great facilities.

Little pricey but there are limited options for this town.
