April 2023

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Leonardo Hotel Vinkeveen Amsterdam and overall, I had a very satisfying experience. From the cleanliness of the hotel to the friendly staff, it provided everything I needed for a comfortable short stay, and possibly even a longer one. While its location may be a bit far from the center of Amsterdam, there are convenient transportation options available to connect you to the city. The first thing that struck me upon entering the hotel was its cleanliness. The entire property was impeccably maintained, and my room was spotless. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating throughout my stay. They were always ready to assist with any queries or requests, and their warm hospitality made me feel welcome. Compared to other hotels in Amsterdam, the rates here are more than fair, especially considering the quality of service and facilities provided.

One of the downsides of this hotel is its location. It is situated quite far from the center of Amsterdam. Although there are transportation options available, such as the metro and a regional bus service, it does require some planning and navigating to reach the city's attractions.

Good breakfast though the bacon was often a little overdone! Otherwise a good choice and selection.

The restaurant! The menu is very limited. It is a bit eccentric in the range of dishes availabe. That aside, the thing which was really offputting was the music. The volume was ridiculously loud. Conversation was impossible on the first night - but we put up with it. Where does the idea come from that loud music is essential to enjoyment? Please give consideration to quiet background music - or ideally no music at all. It's not necessary. OR make clear that it's possible to take a meal in the breakfast area which is what we did on the lsat night and were gratefu for the option. Advice to other guests: don't be afraid to ask to eat in the breakfast area......... the waitresses were very understanding and helpful. I think they agreed with us!

Room was comfy, bathroom was a nice size and the breakfast had something for everyone from fruit to full English. Restaurant food was an experience

Drinks choice at breakfast were a little lacking (Water, Fresh OJ and Coffee/Tea) was expecting at least Apple juice for those who don't like pulp in their OJ. While the restaurant food is an experience the price is fairly high. Personal experience: My room neighbors were "Showering" for at least an hour and that was very audible.

The location, the quietness of the room. The beds were comfortable. Internet was good enough. Thre is a paid parking, but we were advised by the reception we can park for free in front of the hotel, and so we did. The cleanliness in the room was ok-ish; for example, we could see a layer of dust in the electric socket in the bathroom.

The breakfast area was barely lit, it felt more like in a bar. The selection of healthy food (fruits, vegetables, whole grain bread, vegetarian milk) also was rather limited in comparison to things like bread, cereals, jams etc.

- The Harbour Club (delicious meal, irreproachable service) - Nice thematic decorations (in the hotel and the restaurant) - Spacious bedroom - Cleanliness of the bedroom and bathroom - Confortable bedding - Toiletries - Fresh and varied breakfast till 11am And, the most important : Pleasant staff. All of them speak in a perfect english and even some of them speak in a very good french ! They give useful advice about Amsterdam (parking, transports,..).

- Harbour Club (the music was a little bit too loud)

Nice and relatively large room decorated in a marine way. You really feel like entering in a cabin, minus all the boat specific things. The shower is larger than most and the water is quite smooth to the skin. My partner who has sensitive skin didn't get any itching after. The room is equipped with a coffee-maker from nespresso and a smeg fridge. I think I even found an ironing table hidden behind the dresser. You can notice some history of the hotel by looking on the room phone as it has the previous name of the hotel on it. The lobby is very impressive and the breakfast is quite complete with a wide range of food from grains to bread, from fresh milk to smoothie, from bacon to charcuterie, and obviously cheese.

Sound proofing should really get improved as it is possible to hear footsteps and doors closing from the hallway, people talking, etc. As the hotel is located near major freeways, you start to hear road noises quite early in the morning after hearing people making their engine sing during the night. On our room, the air conditioner wasn't working the first two nights when we had around 30°C. The outside electric curtain had the annoying tendency to pull up by itself way before morning making it absolutely useless against light. The beds could use a firmer mattress for our liking as we were often sinking in the bed.

Beautifully decorated, large rooms, comfortable beds, great breakfast. Fantastic view of the lake

Nowhere in the shower to put your bottles. Only towel rail in inside the shower cubicle. Bar closed at midnight on the dot, shame as we'd just got back from a concert and wanted drinks.

Friendly staff. Room was decorated beautifully, a rustic modern theme. Room was equipped with a coffee machine and a mini bar fridge.

The location was abit far out from the centre, but right opposite the bus stop so easy enough to reach your destination.

we thought this was a lovely hotel. Quickly located beside the quenelles for a canal boating holiday. Great breakfast. Good food and atmosphere in the restaurant. Terrific staff and comfortable good sized rooms, nice nautical atmosphere.

The staff were super friendly, helping us with directions and suggestions. The rooms are funky. Such a pity it was a miserable wet day as we would have lived to have sat outside with a drink, but oh well. The on-site restaurant is sensational!! Funky in design and the food was really good. An issue with my husbands steak but they rectified it as best they could.

There really was nothing they could have done better or changed. Really happy.
