Location is perfect, especially if you don't want CBD noise and "entertainment" . there are local restaurants and bars which are perfectly adequate for short-medium term stays. south on Manukau road, plenty of cafe's . further south, Cornwall Park, One Tree Hill . spaciousness of unit (I received a room upgrade thru booking.com) , ease of access, parking, distance from street(my unit) . Beds were upgraded/replaced during my stay. I would rate "accessibility" of this venue "above average".

more art on walls would have been nice. the place was a bit 'blank' there are some items missing from kitchen drawer, However, things like can openers and so on are available from reception. if you don't find what you want, call reception and they will supply them ( do it early in your stay, so you can eat economically from the local supermarkets)

Alpers Lodge represents great value for money. The rooms are obviously in the 'budget' category but against the price paid, I believe they represent excellent value. The convenience of having free guest parking and a restaurant (serving breakfast and dinner) on site can't be overlooked for any out-of-towners and the location, being just a few minutes' walk from the centre of Newmarket makes it even more attractive. Add to that, the polite service from staff helped make my stay more pleasant. Judged against what I'd expect for the price paid, I'm pleased to recommend this establishment and I'd happily stay here again.

Some minor repairs and maintenance in the unit would make it feel a little nicer. It's certainly not a deal-breaker though.

The location was perfect as it was a 5 minute ride down the road to Sky City and a stones throw from the Airport (which btw works out cheaper to take an Uber as opposed to a cab) The bed was comfortable, the room catered to my needs and because it wasn't far from the City centre, well that was absolutely AWESOME!

The only weird thing was that they had the Sky Box perched on top of the TV (flat screen) on the wall (I thought that only happened in the room I booked, but nope, it was pretty much a "standard" kinda thing 🤷‍♀️

Very clean and autopsy comfortable. The bed was new and we slept so well. The shower was high pressure. The rooms had everything we needed and nothing that we didn't. The location was quiet with no road noise. The towels were changed daily and the staff were friendly and accommodating. This is not a 4 star hotel but was very clean very comfortable and close to Newmarket Broadway (5 min walk) and the best shopping mall I've ever been in... Westfield Newmarket. Definitely will stay again.

It was perfect for us for a weekend in Auckland... Home from home.

the rooms we booked were what we asked for, being next to each other. Rooms were really good, beds comfortable, pillows good. Rooms were clean, had what we needed. Was a good location for what we needed too. staff were friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was great, lovely breakfast and great coffee. Was close to what we wanted to do, so good location for us.

The shower in room 2 was not good, it has a step up into it, did not feel safe in it. I used the shower in my daughters room. It was a floor level one. Maybe they could look into fixing that problem.

Bed was nice and big. Also the restaurant offering breakfast and dinner. Good prices and tasty food. Close to town so easy to hop onto motorway or go to Newmarket mall easily.

Restaurant shut on Sunday so had to do something else for breakfast. Space for microwave and jug very tight so made it hard to make a coffee. Shower had a tendency to change temps from just right to cold to scolding which was not good, definitely unsafe for children.

Very good value for money, comfortable beds and great having air con at night as it was very hot. I loved having the easy, spacious carpark right at the door - so much better than the cramped apartment parking I had earlier on my travels. It's an older style motel but very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. I loved the fact that it was a 5 minute walk to the Westfield Mall so super handy to shops/supermarkets etc.

The interior could be modernised but then it would cost more, so quite happy with it as is.

The place was very quiet at night with no road noise at all. Kitchen facilities were very handy to have as were all the Sky tv channels available. Great location close to the northern motorway, walking distance to Newmarket, Auckland domain and the Auckland hospital.

The bed was a double rather than a queen so was slightly too small for 2 people comfort. There was no ventilation fan in the bathroom and the louvre windows in the bathroom could be replaced with an obscure glass window for safety & privacy.

As I was playing in the NZ Masters Badminton National Championships at Badminton Hall Gillies Avenue the location of Alpers Lodge was perfect for my stay. The short walk to Newmarket is also a plus.

re the restaurant: the mashed potato that made up a portion of the lamb shank dish was awful, no flavour and more mush than mash, also the few pieces of vegetable were not good either, the lamb shank was nicely cooked and tasty. However a massive plus for the pizza we enjoyed on the Thursday evening.

The beds had lovely fresh linen, and nice bathroom towels. Lots of space with a couple of small but comfortable chairs. In the room it had a nice feel. The lodge corridor didn’t reflect the room standard.It looks a little dated and tired, as does the dining area.The food was nice though and alcohol was available.You had the option to eat in your room which was great.All the staff were lovely.
