We had an amazing 3-night stay at Centre Point on Colombo Motel! The location was perfect—right in the heart of Christchurch, making it easy to get around. Our room was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. The bed was super comfy, and little touches like the toiletries and plenty of tea and coffee made it feel extra welcoming. The staff were fantastic—so friendly and helpful. They gave us great tips on places to visit and made sure we had everything we needed. Even though it’s in the city, the motel was surprisingly quiet, and having secure parking was really handy. Overall, it was a great experience. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Christchurch and would love to stay here again!

Great location, clean rooms and very friendly staff. There was a fire nearby in an adjacent street, and we could all go and watch the drama unfold. The Linden trees (a number of Tilia species are represented) on the lawn behind the Town Hall were in full bloom. We foraged their fragrant flowers to use as a herbal tea in the colder months. So yes, we had a brilliant time just a hop & skip away from our motel.

I wish there was a way to find out if the booked room had many stairs to contend with or not. My 92 year old mum finds it difficult to go up stairs, and the unit we were assigned had one set of stairs just to reach it, PLUS another set of stairs to get to the bedroom. I might make my booking next time directly with the motel staff, so I can ask the necessary questions before proceeding.

The owners were very welcoming and helpful, and the location was perfect within easy walking distance to the centre of town. The room was comfortable and spacious. There was only a thin long window in our corner room but that was fine for us. The shower was good. We also used the laundry on the ground floor, $4 for the washing machine and $2 to buy a washing powder sachet from reception.

Overall I was happy and would stay again. Some small details I didn't like: the bed was a little uncomfortable as I could feel the springs and would have been improved with a mattress topper, but it was still fine as is. The room also had a slight unpleasant smell which might have been from cleaning products? We aired out the room but it lingered in the bathroom.

Clean property and well maintained. If you need something done just talk to John at Reception and he will organize things without delay. Closer walk to city area with cafes, restaurants and pubs. And all the attractions including tram stop to get around the city. Would like to highlight how John helped with all the little things like last minute organizing my airport shuttle, giving me coins to pay for the bus just in case bus driver didn't have any, organizing a quick make up of my room as I missed it due to sleep in. Amazing customer service and very attentive to needs of people living away from home and new to the locality.

Nothing really. Pretty much enjoyed my stay as if I needed anything just have to talk to John and he will go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and easy.

This property has ranging reviews however our experience was sensational. The host is super friendly and helpful. The room is described as compact but it isn’t. Walking distance to CBD. Great bed and pillows, everything you need - and very clean and comfortable. There are even lounge type chairs for watching TV.

Not dislikes but they do charge for parking even though there is a park for each room. In saying that they only charge a flat fee of $10, which is very minor if you are getting a good deal on your room cost and saving on parking fees.

We loved our stay at this central location. It was modestly priced and spotlessly clean. The staff were fantastic and helpful. We walked down Colombo Street and were in the central city in 5 minutes. While the decor was a smidge tired it more than made up for it in value and the heating and electric blankets were brilliant. This will be our go to location for future stays in Christchurch. Parking onsite.

It was perfect.

The hosts of the motel are very friendly. The room and toilet are clean. The two sinks have a large capacity and are convenient for washing clothes by hand. Room service is available every day. It is only 60m from the nearby bus station.

The motel is located about 1.3km away from the grocery store Freshchoice. On the first day of arrival, I felt that it was a little far away, but this was no longer a problem after I purchased a Metrocard.

We were given a late check out, lots of information about visiting christchurch, super friendly staff, lots of space and comfortable beds. I would stay again as it was great value for money. Black out curtains worked really well. Great location!

Bathroom had a bit of a damp smell, It was a little run down, but clean and had everything we needed. It took us a night or two to realise that the heater was on max, and that's why we were soooo hot at night.

Well situated motel within walking distant to restaurants (we enjoyed Hoi Polloi Bar and Bistro) and a café (Affogato). We didn't get a change to try the cafe but our uber driver told us it was great - good food/coffee (his other job is working in a restaurant - not that one!) We enjoyed a very clean and comfortable unit - well appointed.

Nothing that the owners could do anything about really. There was another guest either upstairs or alongside, who talked a lot! Starting at 5am. Her voice seemed to carry for miles. The ceiling paintwork in the bathroom of our unit is peeling. Otherwise, the unit was in very good condition.

Perfect place to stay. Owners are super lovely and the lovely lady was so helpful with directions for site seeing spots and activities to do while in Chch. Parking was fantastic, right outside the room. The room was very spacious and had everything you needed and more. The beds were so comfortable and im sure we had a super King, it was huge. The room was cozy and there is a heatpump although we were quite warm without. Location is great, and literally a min down the road are several dining spots that will also do a take away if you don't feel like dining out. I highly recommend this place and I know we will definitely stay there on our next trip. Thank you for the great stay. 🙂👌
