Very friendly owner/lady on reception who showed us to our room. Spacious and comfortable room with everything we needed. Good night sleep. A great place to stay! Would highly recommend.

The only thing we can fault was the blind falling down in the bathroom when we tried to open the window, but we told the lady on reception when we checked out and she said thanks for letting her know so it could be fixed!

There was a mix-up with our booking, which was no fault of the motels or ours, but they were so great about fixing things. They bent over backward to make things right and will stay there again next time we are in christchurch. They are wonderful, friendly hosts, just amazing people. Thank you for making our stay great. 😊

We booked a studio and we were delighted to have been given a two-bedroom room with lots more space. Was great to have a room and not have to listen to hubby snoring! Decor and furnishings look above average and the room had a single armchair and a sofa in the lounge which was nice. Shower was a nice pressure, quiet motel with gates that locked at 8.30pm for extra privacy and safety and beds were comfy. Guy at reception was friendly and informative. Showed us how close the Casino was and also the various restaurants within walking distance. Would definitely stay again.

Mirror in bathroom fogged up and lack of bench space in bathroom to put toilet bags on, but not a biggie.

Location 10 mins walk to town and Uber rides average $10. Check in friendly and room excellent. Heat pump and bathroom floor had heated tiles. We were able to leave our car parked in motel carport after department until 2pm when we left for airport.

Focus Motel is located in a convenient location close to Victoria Street restaurants and a 10 -15 minute walk along the Avon River into the centre of Christchurch. Our room had a separate lounge room and a kitchenette with a good supply of basic cooking equipment.

Clean, comfortable, well equipped. Friendly welcome, arranged late check-in in case we were delayed. Parking was much appreciated in such a central location. Quieter than I expected. Walk to restaurants and city centre. Highly recommended for overnight or longer stays.

Excellent location. Loved being so close to the city, yet away from any noise. Motel was clean, comfortable and warm. The shower is insane and if Christchurch has a water shortage anytime soon - go looking there. Unit was at the end, was private, and had a little courtyard with a gate to keep the wee ones around if needed - however, they have passed the age of jailbreaks.

The only minuses were one of the extra blankets having a very dodgy-looking stain on it and the hob. The hob had only 1 element that seemed to work and the settings had all faded off except one making it hard to adjust the temp on the one working element and when you did adjust the light turned off suggesting that the element did too. It was enough to get some scrambled eggs done, but it is time it got replaced.

Spacious and light room, and only a 10-minute walk to the city centre. Very friendly and helpful owners.

No hotplate or utensils and very little bench space so you can’t really cook a meal. Although there was no road noise, there was some noise from the rooms above (both voices and plumbing noise)

The staff were lovely bed comfortable & compact unit very clean & tidy. A little patio area with a table & chairs which we didn't use. Central location as we had no car but hired bikes. Good for a 4 day stay.

The bathroom fan was not very powerful which led to condensation in bathroom. We opened the window while there which helped a bit and we could have had the unit serviced daily but chose not to as there for only a few days. Otherwise all good.

The motel is very modern and we enjoyed the room very much. Lovely bathroom and handy little kitchenette. The bed was very comfortable.

For us the space was a bit tight to store our suitcase. When we travel just for a few days we work out of the suitcase on a daily basis so we like to have it constantly open and accessible. Fortunately we only had 1 suitcase between us so we were able to work with it.
