The B&B comprises three large 1 bedroom semi detached studio units. Spotlessly clean with modern amenities. Located a few kms out of Whangarei. However any distance anxiety is more than made up for by the actual location high up overlooking Whangarei heads. We sat out on the deck in the afternoon with a drink or two enjoying the view across the Heads to Mt Manaia. A perfect end to the day. Andrew and Frances will make you very welcome. They provide a great breakfast too while entertaining you with stories about themselves and the area. A really enjoyable stay.

We had a very pleasant stay at Hyecroft, which is conveniently located in a secured environment on the outskirts of Whangarei. The accommodation is well appointed, comfortable, very quiet and has a superb view. Breakfasts are extremely good. We were made to feel welcome by our hosts who went out of their way to make us feel at home.

There was nothing not to like.

Arrived to a very warm welcome, the accommodation was immaculately presented and the hosts very friendly. Everything a guest could want had been catered to, down to the finest detail. The highlight of our stay was our breakfasts, with the best selection of cereals, yoghurts and preserves, a great spread. Frank and Andrew both entertaining and informative, they have a huge knowledge of the area and it's history and the best stories. We felt so at home in their company, we haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Thank you Francis and Andrew, we'll be back.

The continental breakfast was lovely, with such a great selection. The coffee and toast and jams were lovely. Also, a huge selection of cereals. The bed was so lovely and comfortable. There are no negative comments just positive ones. The room was immaculate and everything else. We went for a walk over the property and the views wow. So close to town. The company was the best.

Nothing, it was simply the best we would not change anything. We loved going for breakfast and having a chat with Andrew and Francis.

As with other reviews we found the hosts very welcoming and respectfully attentive, a beautiful unit in lovely surroundings with stunning views. Will definitely recommend to all those seeking a comfortable, convenient and cosy stay, wirh curated continental breakfast accompanied by entertaining conversation. Thankyou very much.

The accommodation was superb as was the view that came with it. Breakfast was excellent with a choice of cereals and toast with tea or coffee. Location was a little out of town but we knew that when we booked and it created no problems for us.

Our unit was self-contained, spacious, immaculate and very tastefully furnished. It had a great view from the front porch, and pleasant walks within the grounds. Breakfasts with our genial hosts, Francis and Andrew, were a lively, interesting way to start the day, with great conversation over our continental meal. Their home is worth the visit on its own.

As their property is on the outskirts of Whangarei, a car is advised, although access to the town centre was easy.

Hyecroft Lodge is on the road into Whangarei. Easy to get to. Not far really from CBD and any services you may require ( for the Aussies…Bunnings is 500 m away if you are having withdrawals!) Self contained unit, wanting for nothing. Comfortable, modern, spacious, tasty light breakfast, good wifi, hot water, comfy bed, and beautiful hosts who help with any concern and have fabulous stories to tell.

We could not stay longer as have a schedule to fullfill. If back this way, will be booking here.

Our host's Andrew and Francis made us very welcome, we really enjoyed the breakfasts as all the guests sat down together at the same table and exchanged stories. It was one of the hilights. Or hosts also provided a booklet about Hyecroft Lodge and the surrounding area, along with recommendations for visiting. We found this very helpful. The room was lovely and had everything we needed. Everything was done to a high standard. Would highly recommend staying.

Well, what do we say? Our whole stay was exceptional. It was set in a stunning location with wonderful views. The place we stayed in was immaculate and tasteful with everything thought about. Our hosts were fabulous people who loved showing us around their house and shared so many interesting stories. Breakfast was excellent: so many choices.
