A Norwegian Gem: Lillehammer Turistsenter Budget Hotel From the moment I arrived at Lillehammer Turistsenter Budget Hotel, I knew my experience would be one to remember. Nestled in the breathtaking town of Lillehammer, this hotel surpasses expectations with a blend of affordable luxury and exemplary service. The location is excellent, boasting beautiful scenic views and an accessible proximity to local attractions. From its doorstep, it's a short journey to the Olympic Bobsleigh and Luge Track, the picturesque Lake Mjosa, and the Maihaugen Open-Air Museum. In this regard, the hotel serves as the perfect base for both adventure seekers and culture enthusiasts. What struck me first about the rooms was their inviting nature. The Nordic minimalistic design made each room feel spacious, comfortable, and incredibly clean. There was an impressive attention to detail, ensuring all the amenities - from the efficient WiFi to the comfortable bedding - worked to enhance my stay. Despite being a budget hotel, no corners have been cut in ensuring comfort and quality. One particular feature I'd like to highlight is the hotel's environmentally friendly approach. It is clear that great effort is put into maintaining sustainable operations, from energy-efficient fixtures to eco-friendly toiletries and waste management. It's refreshing to see a budget hotel committed to such initiatives without compromising on the quality of service. Perhaps the most memorable aspect of Lillehammer Turistsenter Budget Hotel, however, was the staff. From the moment I arrived, the team went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable.

The property is lovely, with a great outdoor area where we met, drank and laughed with friends. The view is incredible, could not stop hanging my head out the window to take more photos!

Rooms aren't airconditioned - they had small portable fans in, which was fine to sleep with, but the curtains were wide open when we arrived so they were stinking hot. I understand the idea would be to show the view, but I'd appreciate a cooler room and check out the view once the sun went down.

The shared kitchen is a huge plus!! And it was a good too (we recommend that you would put a picture of it here so people know what to expect.) No need to eat in a restaurants all the time. Helps with Norwegian prices 😅 the room was beautiful and check in was easy even though we came quite late.

The location isn't in the center but we didn't mind. The room was quite cold we were not able to get the heater working and realized it too late every time so we were not able to ask help for it either. But I believe that if we would have asked it would have been fixed. The sounds from the corridor comes to the room quite loudly, but we didn't really mind that either.

Even though it is called 'budget hotel', we felt the rooms were on par with other 'nonbudget' hotels. Nithing fancy, but practical and clean, and the two rooms we had seemed to have been refurbished recently because they were quite modern and nicely decorated. We stay here every now and then because it is only a short 10 min drive to Hafjell alpine resort, and we like the fact that one has access to a small shared kitchenette with fridge and cooking facility in the hall. Also friendly staff and effective check in and communication before arrival. Recommended! (family of four from Oslo, Norway)

All good, great value for money!

The staff were young, helpful and charming. The receptionist even ordered a takeaway pizza for us as we didn’t want to go out again in the evening. The main foyer area is comfortable and a pleasant place to sit. The centre is overlooking the lake and about a 20 minute walk from the centre.

There was no hair dryer in the room.

Nice and clean rooms, furnished functionally, common kitchen (guests are responsible themselves) and restrooms were also clean. Very nice and cosy lobby as well as kind staff. Nice view across the lake. Good price-performance relation!

Maybe a bit difficult to reach by public transport as not near the city centre but optimal accomodation for travellers by car.

The kitchen was good - it included everything you need to cook a meal - pots, pans, stirring spoons, stirring forks, ladle. It was, however, a little claustrophobic. What we really liked was the bright, cheery and roomy room. At first we had a view of the caravan park but we called reception and they gladly gave us a room with a view of the river.

There wasn't anything to dislike about it.

well they’re undergoing renovation so it was somewhat noisy in the morning, but I also appreciate that they are upgrading the rooms.

The room is modern but simple, however nicer than expected for a budget hotel. It was also extremely clean and spacious, and very comfortable.

This is an old wooden building so the noise insulation is naturally poor, meaning you hear other guests walking down the hallway and if your room is on the ground floor you'll probably hear people walking around above you. The shower drainage is very poor meaning almost the whole bathroom floor will be wet after 5 minutes.

Very comfortable bed, late check-out (noon), spotless, well-equipped kitchen for guests with fridge, dishwasher, pots, pans, etc. Nice soap in the bathroom.

Electric vehicle charging is a 5-10 walk. (Definitely not a big issue!)
