Good breakfast but cooking staff needs some hygiene training….. not to touch food when serving

Do not let children under 15 to take food from buffet displays. They touch food with their hands one by one. People should not be allowed to eat food standing at food displays, picking and putting back. Very il-mannered people.

Air of grandeur , pleasant everything expensive .It was New Year’s Eve so restaurants booked but one young lady very helpful and gave us a table. Quite excellent complimentary service to the airport. Great buffet breakfast if one is a big eater. Pleasant staff overall. I do like the old preserved door decors quite excellent .

Rooms do look tired.We had booked the executive suite and at that price something exceptional was expected , but the room carpet looked tired with gross marks everywhere , quite disgusting actually. The control panel next to the bed was falling apart and very dated , the black ash furniture , the bath tub very old tired looking . Apart from the room the hotel looks the part.

My stay was exceptional. The Hotel is beautifully serene and very well structured and organized. There are so many things to do and many restaurants to enjoy. I absolutely loved the rooms, classically designed, very spacious and the beds and pillows are incredibly comfortable. Bathrooms and bedrooms are very large and spotlessly clean. The laundry and drycleaning service is the best I have ever experienced in any hotel, at a fraction of normal costs. The staff are so helpful, professional and sincere. I enjoyed a number of restaurants (4) and they were all fantastic, offering diverse menus. The coffee shop is a great place to go to for lighter meals, with a beautiful garden to relax in. The grounds of the Islamabad Serena are something to behold, very romantic with every corner designed to suit its own purpose. There is a selection of very well curated shops where you can find a good selection of authentic artwork, paintings, antiquities, books, Persian pottery, carpets and a very high-end fashion boutique for ladies, which I highly recommend. I made use of the Maisha Spa and the two pools, and I was very impressed by the high-end facilities on offer. The Hotel is located in one of the most secure complexes in Islamabad, in close proximity to the UN offices, World Bank and most Government offices. I have travelled to more that 70 countries and stayed in most high-end hotels on offer, the Serena in Islamabad is very special and a must stay for anyone visiting. It is not a stay, it's an experience you won't forget.

I simply cannot fault the Serena on anything. I have had the most memorable stay. Everything and all services were exceptional and faultless.

Good Gym\Pool

Breakfast could be better really. For a 5-star hotel it is good but not great. Also I asked one morning for some more avocado only to be told that what I got was all that came with the poached eggs I ordered. This is not great given that breakfast is a buffet + eggs to order. Maybe I should have ordered 3 orders of 2 poached eggs and avocado to get more avocado and simply not eat the eggs, I did not obviously but they could have easily brought me some more avocado surely...

beautiful grounds. phenomenal lobby and public areas. exceptional architecture. excellent service at all levels.

guest rooms are in need of renovation to keep up with the public areas. carpets old and a bit musty. Food was average. geared to low spice, western tastes, not Pakistani tastes.

The rooms located in the Mangalla Wing have access to the Executive Lounge for free breakfast and coffee/tea/light refreshments until late evening. Executive rooms also provide free airport pick and drop, free laundry for four items per day and some other amenities. I really appreciate the staff and facilities, who have been outstanding throughout.

The merchants in the various lobby shops can be a bit pushy, which needs to be handled with care, as I understand the various sensitivities. The drivers always seem to introduce the topic of their low salary, as a precursor for bestowing a tip.
