November 2024

This was my second 2-night stay at the Amaru Inca. I emailed the hotel before my visit, pointing out that the first room I had been offered on my previous visit had been unsuitable, and this time I was given a perfectly satisfactory ground floor room. (It even had a wardrobe to hang some clothes!) So I would have awarded 9/10 this time (with minus one for an unexciting buffet breakfast). It's a great hotel! But then the internet packed up at lunchtime on the second day. I was flying home the following day and so I needed internet access to get some stuff sorted out. I asked at Reception and was given the unsatisfactory and unhelpful response "Try again in 30 minutes." Hence I twice had to go out to a nearby cafe and purchase food and drink that I didn't really want so that I could use their WiFi. The internet was back on in the Amaru Inca on my return from my second such visit at 8 pm, so the total internet outage must have been 6-8 hours.

My room at Amaru Inca was gorgeous and looked out on a courtyard. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful--they packed a breakfast for me for my trip to Machu Picchu, helped me with directions--everything I could possibly need. A free breakfast has expansive offerings in a dining room on the second floor with lovely views of the city. The hotel is at the center of the historic area of the city.

I had a total stay of 8 nights in this place, and it couldn't have been a better choice. It's a quiet place with comfortable beds to rest, after the long days of touring. The staff has been very helpful, and Epi and Maria in the dining room will welcome you every morning with a smile and delicious food. Facilities are great, and the location is as well. They are happy to keep your baggage if you are doing the Inca trail. I can highly recommend staying here.

I liked everything.

The location is incredible! Only a block from the Plaza de Armas and Cusco city center. Completely walkable and in the middle of one of the classic, narrow, cobblestone streets Cusco is famous for. Mere steps away from shopping, restaurants, pharmacies, markets, and the 12-angled stone! They were more than willing to store my luggage while I was trekking the Inca Trail, too, even though I didn't have a reservation with them when I returned! Breakfast was delicious and fresh each morning, with fruit, juice, bread, avocado and eggs made to order by a friendly staff each morning.

The heating is from a radiator, which took time to warm the room at night. This, however, is typical in the area and I learned I was actually lucky to have heat without paying extra for a space heater at all!

This hotel exceeded all my expectations. It was very well situated close to centre but not in the noisy area. It had a historical quaintness and charm about it. The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. They were available 24 hrs and there to help with early starts . They spoke good English and were always happy. The rooms and general area were kept spotlessly clean with coca tea and coffee available 24 hrs a day. Breakfast was served from early and delicious with lots of fresh variety. There was help available to organize tours and taxis as necessary. Over all I couldn't fault anything and would highly recommend staying here.

The location was perfect, the room big, the courtyard welcoming and the food good. There was a really nice atmosphere to the place and the staff were friendly. The rooms were set around the courtyard and felt secure and personal. The breakfast was really well stocked with fruit, bread, jams, juice and I ordered an omelette. I didn't use it. but there were tea and coffee making facilities in the courtyard.

There was a table that was used outside the room, which was only annoying for one night as I had an early flight the next morning. This didn't detract from my overall stay.

We stayed at Amaru Inca during our honeymoon trip to Peru, and it was a fantastic experience. The room was spacious with a lovely view overlooking Cusco, and the colonial-style decor added a charming touch to our stay. We also loved the peaceful patio, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The hotel offered tea 24/7, and the breakfast was nice and fresh every morning. A thoughtful gesture we appreciated was when they prepared breakfast to go on the day we were leaving. The staff was very accommodating, and there were no issues with luggage storage, making our travels smooth. The location is another big plus—just a short walk to Plaza de Armas, which was super convenient.

The only downside was that it could get a bit loud at night.

We stayed at Amaru Inca 3 times during our trip to Peru - a perfect place as a base for exploring Cusco region. They were highly accommodating for 4am get ups, helpfully provided a free bag store and breakfast to go. The place itself is delightful. We stayed in 3 different rooms, and each was well equipped and nicely decorated. The courtyard areas provided a perfect space to relax with free tea on hand. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. All staff were friendly and helpful - booking us a taxi to the airport and even letting us use their phone for a long call to our airline.

Nothing- everything was perfect

The location is right in the center (take into account a short but steep climb from the intersection to the hotel). The hotel helped us with directions, free luggage storage even after checkout and before checking. The hotel is well maintained and cleaned. The room was big, comfortable, with good beds and a great view of the inner courtyard. Overall the hotel is great and we recommend it.

The shower was good but the hot and cold water kept changing so it was not so enjoyable.. The breakfast is not good, the products are old and not fresh, and not so many options. The wifi is good but it only worked in half of our room, and there was no charger in the area with good wifi so it was a bit tricky but not a major issue.

The hotel is located in a really good spot, very near to the famous Twelve-Angled Stone and the main square. My room had a loft, and the view from the loft was fantastic, especially at night. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. Since my flight was early in the morning, they prepared a take-out breakfast and booked a taxi for me.

There is no charging spot in the loft; adding one beside the sofa would be very convenient. The sink does not offer a hot water option, having only one switch for water flow. Also, if you're looking to take a hot shower at 3 AM, be prepared to wait a bit for the hot water to start flowing, which is understandable.
