The hotel is in a lovely location, but be aware that there are quite a lot of steps to climb, which could be challenging for some. However, the staff is incredibly attentive—they even reached out before our arrival to check if we’d need any assistance. The bed was really comfortable and clean, making for a great night’s rest. One thing we particularly enjoyed was the ability to pair our phone with the TV, which added a nice touch of convenience. The breakfast area is also very pleasant, and breakfast starts early, which was perfect for us since we were heading to Machu Picchu that morning.
Unfortunately, our stay coincided with a town-wide celebration on the day of our arrival, which made it difficult to rest. The party went on until around 3 AM, and with us needing to wake up at 5, we only got about two hours of sleep. The soundproofing of the hotel wasn’t great, but we later found out that most of the town and other hotels had the same issue that night. Thankfully, our second night was much more peaceful, and we finally got some rest. One other downside was that due to the damp conditions, we noticed some bugs in the bathroom. Aside from these issues, the rest of the stay was fine.

We loved the views from the room with walls of windows overlooking the mountains and town of aguas calientes. The 3 beds were comfortable and the shower was hot.
I didn't realise there was such a climb to get to the hotel. 127 steps to our room was quite the effort with luggage. It would have been good if we could have opened the windows to let some air into the room as it was quite stuffy. When we opened the windows the room filled with bugs so we had to keep them closed.

It’s right in the heart of the town, so easy and fast to access restaurants, train, etc. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with plenty of electrical outlets.
To get up to the lobby, you have to climb 106 steps that are pretty steep. It’s the last thing I wanted to see after hiking 13 miles from Lucmabamba. Our rooms were quite literally next to the lobby, and people would go hang out there and chat, making it hard to sleep. There aren’t any blackout curtains, so make sure you have a sleep mask if you’re sensitive to light while trying to sleep.

This is a fun little b&b, it is located up a steep walkway on the edge of the jungle. The facilities are great for the price and the area is beautiful. Views from the balcony are unmatched. The staff was also amazing and super kind. Breakfast was delicious and they will check with you what time you want it so they can make you eggs to order. Just be ready for the climb up, it’s not for the weak!
I went during the end of the rainy season, so although it wasn’t crazy hot the humidity was persistent. There isn’t central air so even with me keeping windows open and a breeze rolling through the humidity just wouldn’t quit. So just be aware if you are sensitive to humid environments! It didn’t bother me too much but I know some people have issues.

The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that your stay is comfortable. We were celebrating an occasion and the staff made it extra special for us by decorating our room and providing personalized attention by picking us up from the train station. The property is on a hill and thus provides panoramic views even from the room. For us climbing up the stairs wasn't an issue as the staff helped us with the luggage. They even guided us to buy the bus tickets. The property is located right at the square near everything that you would need.

Breakfast - simple and freshly made Staff - very personable and friendly. They offered a pickup from the train station which was nice. Stay - Comfortable, ease of access to all the amenities. Great view with balcony to enjoy the rain and clouds rolling in. Concern with stairs was how could we see at night/early hours - the sensor lights helped going up and down at dark hours. Shower - plenty of hot water in shower
Stairs! 😃 Bathroom - small and humid with only cold water in sink.

The room was very cozy and clean. The panoramic windows making the place look very special! The gentleman from the reception met us at the train station, what was very sweet and helpful. The breakfast is delicious and the view is amazing! The breakfast is served at the top floor, what was super enjoyable experience as well😊
The entrance door is made of glass, so you hear every other guest passing by as well as awakened by the automatic light from the hall (behind the door) so a sleeping mask has helped! :) also our balcony was fully visible from the reception, so no privacy there

The breakfast was so nice, and had some great fresh fruit and the eggs were cooked really well. A nice selection of coffee and cocoa tea, with other options. The room was great size and had a nice view. They picked us up immediately from the train and walked us to the hotel, and that was a pleasant surprise!! Nice, comfy bed.
I think some people might be bothered by the stairs, though this wasn't a big deal for us.

Host picked us up at the train station and escorted us to the hotel. The breakfast patio is AMAZING! The host suggested we wake up early to enjoy breakfast instead of rushing. The view of the mountains and river were exceptional and breakfast was perfect before hiking. The rooms was clean, cute, and comfortable.
There are 110 steps to the hotel so try not to bring big luggage. It didn’t bother us, you have to work for that view!

Very thoughtful, Even though it’s super easy to find (right off the main square) they contacted me prior to arrival and met us at the train station to show us the way to the lodge. Our room was huge and lovely, and we had our own private balcony, a refuge to read and sip coffee far above the tourist chaos of Aguas Caliente
Rupa rupa is the hotel at the very TOP of the stairs are a serious workout. Fortunately I read the advice of others and we packed very light, left our heavy luggage in Cusco. Do NOT bring heavy suitcase if you intend to stay here. On the flip side, being at the highest point means less noise and better view.
