The owners are very hospitable and we felt at home right from the start. It is a pleasant atmosphere, providing a feeling of being welcome, safe, home, and secure. The grounds are spacious, and the rooms are also very functionally furnished, with aircon, fan, strong internet, and even a fantastic shower with hot water. If you arrive by car or motorbike, you can park inside. This was important for us because we also had our equipment with us. The breakfast is generous, even with extra coffee at no charge. And even though lunch or dinner are not served, there are numerous dining options in the area. The location is good too. Not far from the airport and also on the way to The Underground River, Honda Bay and El Nido and other hot spots. Furthermore, whatever you plan to do in Palawan, the owners are very helpful, reliable and supportive. There is also a large and clean pool right next to the hotel, which is accessible exclusively to hotel guests from 5 pm. To summarize: We felt really comfortable and would book this hotel again at any time.

Balay Tuko is a wonderful place to stay at. We enjoyed our time here and will book again, once we’re back in Puerto Princessa. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the hotel itself is spacious with a nice garden and open restaurant. Our room was quite big and very clean. The owner and staff provided tips and recommendations for activities. Everyone was very friendly, helpful and provided a very good service overall. The hotels location comes in handy for booked tours, you’re most likely the last pick-up destination for the van and the first to drop-off after the tours.

Thanks to the great people, service and accommodation, Balay Tuko feels like our home when we are in Palawan. We have been coming back here for 7 years already and have never been disappointed. A big thanks and compliment to the wonderful team.

During our previous stays we always liked to end our day with a game of pool billiards, but the pool table was not there anymore unfortunately.

More secluded feeling than the other hotels in Puerto with a wonderful large garden and wooden balustrades, to give you the feel you are in the tropics. The staff were very kind and they make a great break fast and dinner - but make sure to order dinner ahead of time!

The bathrooms and rooms are a little outdated and lit with harsh, fluorescent lights but that being said - they're big rooms, very clean, and equipped with AC and a wonderful balconied hallway to sit out on if it's not too hot.

I recently stayed at this place for one night as a transit from Puerto Princesa to El Nido, and it was a good experience. The compound is nestled in a serene environment with birds, which added to the peaceful atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and kept in communication with me to arrange for pick up and drop off to El Nido. Breakfast was quite good, and the staff was attentive to my needs. The rooms are basic but clean, and that's all I needed for a quick overnight stay. However, I was impressed with the overall cleanliness of the place. Next time, if I visit Puerto Princessa, I would love to stay here for a longer period. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay with good value for money

However, for improvement that I noticed during my stay. There was a power failure, which resulted in the use of a generator to turn on lights. Unfortunately, the voltage from the generator was not enough to run the ceiling fan, making it quite hot and uncomfortable in the room at night.

Very nice complex, colonial style. Great room, good bathroom. We arrived newyears eve, and forgot to arrange anything for dinner. Officially, the restaurant on premise was closed. We weren't comfortable going out by ourselves, as it was dark already, and there was nothing within walking distance. The owners were having a Philipilian buffet for them and the staff, and we were invited to join in. That was the nicest thing, and we felt very privileged. And ... the food was awesome!

Great place to stay lovely big clean airy rooms with rainforest showers,netflix and all the channels to watch in room,lovely green vista with beautiful birdsong every morning veey close to Robinson s mall and good food places plus the biggest plus for me a lovely indoor swimming pool. Really great value for money in the city with lovely staff and owner.

There is nothing here not to like nothing its a well run guesthouse,if i was to change one small thing it would be great if water dispensers served cold water,but i know you can get cold water from kitchen so im just being lazy. Stay here you wimt be disappointed

We had an extremely lovely stay at Balay Tuko for 4 nights and 5 days. Highlights: - centrally located close to a grocery and mall; Robinson’s about 3-5 minutes tricycle away - the inn is located on the outskirts of town. But if you’re visiting for any of the tours (PPUR, firefly) the tour will pick you up first since you’re along the way - serene atmosphere for a relaxing stay away from city noise and traffic - a beautiful garden to wake up to, especially in the morning - appreciated that the rooms were made of non-allergenic material and very clean. AC worked perfectly and there was a free large water dispenser per every 4/5 rooms. - the owner was French and seemed eager to share conversation with us about our travels. He built Balay Tuko from scratch in the 1990’s and since it has grown into a beautiful place to say the least! - laundry for a fee, kitchen serves breakfast/lunch/dinner, largest indoor swimming pool in town, setup of their tours are coordinated and not at all disappointing Recommend this stay for couples who like their space, & families since it is a safe and enclosed environment

I would like to suggest that when guests arrive, the facilities are first pointed out when they arrive, we didn’t know there was a pool, laundry, electric kettle or even a restaurant that was available unless we asked.

The hotel is in a central location, only ten minutes by tricycle to Robinson shopping mall Very quiet and relaxing day and night Belgian owner and Filipina wife were very friendly and welcoming. It was overall a very enjoyable stay.

Room wasn't cleaned during our three days stay

The staff is amazing, very friendly, warm, welcoming and helpful when it comes to choosing trips and activities. The garden is beautiful, the breakfast war great and could be adjusted to liking. We had an amazing time and even extended our stay there! Also highly recommend going to Cowrie Island:)

AC didn't work due to power blackouts in the city at times.
