Our stay was amazing! The location of Alma do Pico is great. Just outside of Madalena and super central for all activities on Pico. The staff is amazing and they offer so many nice recommendations. At the reception they have a board with all activities and the best restaurants. The restaurant at the hotel, Atmosfera, is amazing and serves homemade pastas and beautiful wines. It’s run by a family and they also cater the breakfast at the cabins. You can adjust the breakfast to your own needs but it’s already amazing as it is. Big compliments to the entire restaurant team as they made us feel so welcome!

You have to press the button in the shower for it to keep running. Would be nice to change that.

We loved this place, very close to Madeleine, about 8 mins by car. The chalets are beautiful, well equipped with everything you need. Comfortable. You can really relax in this hotel. In the complex you get a beautiful view of Pico and Faial, so we took some pictures of the sunset. The staff were very friendly and we were able to communicate with them without a problem before our arrival. The room included a basket for breakfast, which was a very nice detail how it was presented. We would definitely stay there again. We stayed only one night but I suggest to stay at least two to really enjoy the place and relax in Pico.

We arrived very late because out flight from Terceira island was delayed 3 hours. We were able to communicate with the staff at Almo do Pico via WhatsApp and email (we didn't have SIM cards that supported cell service on the island). They were very helpful and understanding. They just left the door key in the door lock for us. We completed the official check in the next morning. We asked if there was a store nearby where we could buy some hiking poles for our trek up Pico Mountain. They loaned us two sets of poles for free that had been left by prior guests. Excellent service. Nice private cabins. Beautiful setting. Great breakfast.

This is kind of a "get out in nature" kind of place, a bit minimalist but with lots of nice public seating areas (indoor & out), a pool, and it has a restaurant on-site that's open a few nights a week. My room was fairly sparse but roomy and had a kitchenette in it which would be great for self-catering. They do offer a cocktail bar, which is nice. It's a few minutes' walk from a supermarket, which was convenient. There is breakfast, nothing super special but handy to have.

At night the room got a ton of bugs in it on the floor (not flying or biting, just...eeech). I eventually found some bug spreay by the door and that helped take them out but I wish they'd prepared me for that (it was never mentioned). The wifi wasn't working well for me. And the location is challenging, you're way out away from restaurants and such.

Inès and Hugo welcomed us with exceptional hospitality. They paid exemplary attention to our needs through both their actions and the quality of their presence. Great location, very quiet and natural (feels like you are in the park). To the „main town” it’s around 30 mins walk. Amazing view both on Pico and Ocean. Room was clean and spacious.

Room was a bit dark. Breakfast was delivered in baskets to room, it was rather poor and very limited. No eggs, vegetables. Just bread, four plasters of ham and cheese, small butter and small jam, two fruits and two glasses of juice - all for two people.

A very tranquil location, nice spacious cabin, lots of privacy and places to relax, incredibly kind and helpful staff. They’ve got lots of great info about the island and there’s a partner restaurant that is very nice as well.

It’s probably better to have a car (or some way to get around) if you want to see more of the island. There is parking available.

The accommodation was very spacious, and the atmosphere was really relaxed around the compound. Our reception reception was excellent, accommodating for our wishes to have an early exit (and giving us a very early breakfast). Great place, wanted to stay longer to enjoy the beautiful scenery and amenities a little bit more. Would definitely recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Alma do Pico. The residence is just amazing, ist's perfectly located a bit outside of Madalena center, but not too far away. We found it perfect for starting our trips around the island. The residence itself is also so beautiful and the view to Faial ist just gorgeous! But what was even better was the friendliness and helpfulness of the people there. We felt very welcome and everyone was so considerate to make our stay as good as possible. The breakfast every day was so delicious and generous and they prepared a special vegan dish for me every morning! We also had dinner in the Atmosfera restaurant which is a part of the residence and can highly recommend it. Don't miss it! :-) Furthermore, we were helped with getting a rental car and we also booked a massage per the service, which was also amazing. In short, we cannot think of anything that would have made our stay more pleasant! A big thank you to the whole Alma do Pico Team 🥰

Your personal little bungalow in the middle of a forest. Breakfast gets delivered to your room in the morning (or evening before if you have to leave early). Friendly staff and a pool with a view.

The breakfast basket was a bit limited, could have some more fresh, local products.
