Pergola is a dream! A treat for all of the senses, every detail covered with warmth and intention. The incredible design detail blankets every corner. The location is absolutely perfect- just a short jaunt from the train station, easily accessible, and the perfect adjacency to all of the most lovely sights of Cascais. Thoughtful doesn’t even begin to describe the staff- beyond attentive and welcoming. My daughter and I were staying for two nights with no plan and they gave us excellent, authentic recommendations for great places to eat and see. The kitchen and bar knocked every meal, refreshment, and drink out of the park. Nothing negative to note, 15/10!

The location of this boutique hotel was perfect. We were in Cascais for a surprise party and it was a perfect meeting spot. The restaurant was divine and the staff were brilliant and very helpful. We are designers and loved every aspect of the exterior and interior of this hotel. It's very IG worthy!!

This is no reflection on the hotel as they had no control on what goes on outside of the gates, but if this is a common problem, perhaps it could be addressed.... at 4am we were awoken but 2 or 3 men right outside the gates, talking really loudly whilst doing what we guessed as, emptying a skip or clearing waste/ It went on for approx 30mins which was a great shame as it really interrupted our sleep. Again, nothing to do with the hotel but if clearing skips or bar waste is normal on a sunday morning, we feel that should be addressed.

Fantastic location in the heart of Cascais. Lovely sheltered garden with the most beautiful blossoming trees. It is a very pretty small hotel within walking distance of everything Cascais has to offer. Breakfast was delicious as was lunch in the Bougain restaurant which is in the garden of the hotel. The hotel staff were lovely and extremely friendly and helpful.

We booked a garden view superior room paying extra for garden view however this really just meant a bedroom at the front of the building. You couldn’t actually see the garden except the front gates from our room (no 22). Also there is a major building project across the road. It is really quite noisy if you are in a room at the front. This isn’t the hotel’s fault and I have to say we did actually get used to the noise however it is worth considering when choosing your bedroom.

The room was great, however, there was a problem with the air conditioning. We phoned reception and the receptionist was excellent. She immediately sorted the problem for us and did so with a great attitude despite the late hour.

The staff working in the restaurant were not particularly engaged or friendly with customers on both mornings. The coffee was not replaced nor was there any engagement with the customers other than taking the initial order. The bar staff didn't make any eye contact when we were looking for service in the evening and again the receptionist had to help us.

We had a balcony room which was stunning with views of the small courtyard garden below. Our children had a smaller room which wasn't quite as amazing as ours, but still very beautiful. The garden is a burgeoning oasis set behind a wall secluded from street outside, overflowing with jasmine and bougainvillea with a fabulous restaurant and bar. Many tourists stop and take photos of the hotel and garden because it is so beautiful. The hotel itself has so many stunning original features it is hard to take it all in and has the perfect balance of tradition and sophistication. It is a short stroll to the beach and surrounded by lots of restaurant choices in a fairly quiet street. The staff at Pergola are incredible, so welcoming and professional. We were impressed with every aspect of our stay. Truly unique.

Nothing, it was perfect.

Beautiful gardens and an intimate property with a very helpful and attentive staff. Sparkling clean, comfortable beds and a great shower. Love the location with a short walk to the beaches, restaurants and even the train station. Euro car is around the corner and they allowed us to drop our car there instead of the airport. Parking on the weekend can be trying - the underground lot was full but the receptionist helped us find free parking. The breakfast is lovely - order from the menu. Beach towels available.

It felt like a bit of a bait and switch. There was an advertised price for a seemingly lovely room in our price range. Upon arrival we were shown our room and then more expensive rooms. Our booked room wasn’t adequate for the type of property. Tiny and very little light. The property had lots of vacancies the day we arrived so we opted for a better room but the price was considerably higher.

The breakfast! Couldn’t have been better! What more would we want than a choice of the full breakfast menu - as much as you wanted. The gardens, restaurant and library with the TV to watch soccer when our walking was done. Above all, the staff.

We knew ahead of time our rooms would be on the small side with no bathtub so that wasn’t an issue. It was a bit noisy if your room overlooked the restaurant or was first off the staircase as ours were. Would it be possible to install a beautiful door with glass at the entrance to the bedroom wings?

The hotel staff were very friendly, well mannered and professionally dressed suiting to the ambiance and setting of the hotel. The rooms and house were clean and well kept. The garden was beautiful and the cocktails were delicious. We really enjoyed our stay and would return and recommend to everyone.

Just one thing my girlfriend mentioned would of been nice. A full length mirror in the room so she can see which of her 100 outfits suits her the best for that evening.

Beautiful grand old house. Room was attractive with a huge bed and nice bathroom. We were contacted by WhatsApp in advance to ask if they could do anything for us. So we let them reserve the hotel restaurant for our arrival day (it was our anniversary). Enjoyed the food and service too, although quite pricey. The other restaurant recommendations were also just right. Breakfast was included and was of very good quality. Everyone we encountered was friendly and attentive, cannot fault them.

Breakfast took quite a while, everything is brought from the kitchen. We weren’t in a hurry and could enjoy it, but may not suit everyone.

Beautiful house very sympathetically renovated into a b&b, amazing location to explore the lovely town of Caiscais, nothing too much trouble for the staff always greeted with a smile, really nice fresh breakfast with lots of options, bedroom and bathroom a lovely size, hidden away behind the most beautiful garden, you felt very special staying their, would definitely stay again for a lovely treat.

I can’t think of anything negative to say
