Found this hotel to be quite a gem. You'd almost miss it if you weren't looking as the name is on the roof. Really clean throughout the hotel with a bright interior, lovely old building. Hotel was on a fairly busy road, we were lucky enough to be looking out the rear of the property and was quiet so can't say if it was noisy out the front. Parking in the hotel garage was free (not expected) and was a bonus for the hire car. Absolutely superb breakfast included with multiple options available. I believe there was a pool and gym facilities but we didn't use them. An absolute steal for the price paid and would stay here if we visit Coimbra again without doubt.

A rather strange bathroom setup, a kind of en-suite at the end of the bed but without a door to it! Other rooms appeared to have the same setup and probably had to be that way for the available space. A bit odd, that's all.

Everything! The price was lower than many others. The location is top, bus stations are very close. The house is a monumental old building, very nicely renovated. There is a pool, good free wifi, the rooms were comfortable and clean, there was a balcony. Breakfast is ok, maybe not so many choices but they offer a very nice selection of fresh fruit which was a big plus for me.

Nothing! If I really have to write something here, I would mention that the sound insulation between the rooms is not the best, because the house is an old mansion and the floors are wooden.

The room was lovely and spacious enough to get around in my wheelchair, which was great, and had a fully accessible bathroom. The front desk staff & breakfast staff were lovely and very helpful, although not all spoke English. Breakfast was very good, quite delicious and lots of options. Centrally located but easy to find.

Getting in and out of the hotel in a wheelchair was not so easy - it required front desk staff (only open 0700-2330) to open a door for me, although there were thankfully ramps and staff were always helpful and kind though not always immediately available. Also only one really accessible power outlet in the room which made charging laptop, phone, and wheelchair difficult.

Friendly and helpful staff, well served breakfast, Wifi DID work in all the building. No red tape to access the health center. They do provide you with robes and towels.

Although facilities are new, the building is not, so depending on your neighbor you hear a lot of noise. There were no empty plugs in the room, had to disconnect a lamp or the hairdryer to charge phone. The drane in the shower was clogged and let water flood the bathroom floor. There was no desk in the room although it was in the rooms description. All small details that didn't prevent me to enjoy, but should be looked into :)

The hotel was lovely, with a spacious, nicely appointed room. The staff were professional and helpful, and the breakfast had a great variety, in a spacious, pleasant breakfast room. We enjoyed dinners at a nearby recommended restaurant, and found the hotel location quite convenient, being walking distance to the university and to downtown Coimbra. (For those not into walking uphill back to the hotel, especially in the heat, there seemed to be regular buses.)

fabulous hotel with character. Rooms more spacious than we had thought. Very clean. lovely indoor pool and sauna, really relaxing after loads of walking in the city! great breakfast, really good location by Botanical Gardens and easy to walk everywhere. Bath robes! car park or seemingly pretty safe street parking right outside.

WC and shower not very private - just a frosted glass screen. No wastebin in our room. We would have given 10/10 but for the Saturday night street disturbance - I was woken at 3.am by large group of people shouting outside and revelry which did not stop until 6.am! it turns out there is a discotheque nearby and people come to the kebab shop just down the street. Despite the terrible night, I would come here again, (maybe with earplugs as a precaution!). it's great value and overall comfortable with lovely facilities - but I'd request a room on the other side especially if it's the weekend.

Loved everything about the Hotel Ibn-Arrik 😊 The location is perfect for exploring Coimbra. There is free parking in the basement. The street isn't particularly busy. There are lots and lots of bars and restaurants nearby. And, we had the pool & gym to ourselves 🌝 Out room had a separate lounge with natural lighting and a controllable skylight. The bar is delightful it's super comfy vintage sofas 😍

Absolutely nothing to dislike 😊

Great location close to the University, Comfortable garage space for self parking, Courteous staff, Decent size clean rooms with cozy beds, Clean bathroom with separate sections for sink, commode and shower, Elaborate and very good breakfast including fresh fruits and hot items.

Answer to questions posted in messages through Booking.com could have been answered much earlier as opposed to just before check in.

It's my best experience in Portugal! The only hotel I saw having conditioning and heating, so we were able to have warm room at night. They have perfect facilities - pool and gym and sauna (none of it was busy in the evening, was pleasure to visit!) Breakfast variety is 10* points too! It includes fruits:) Location is just minutes walk from the university and museums. Parking is big enough:)
