While this was a little bit of a walk to the old town area, it was right by the botanical garden, so if the garden was open, you could walk through the garden. (Be prepared for hills in this town!!) Friendly staff. Decent breakfast.

Location is on a busy street, so there is a lot of street noise if you open the windows. If you opt for air conditioning, the a/c was a bit loud, at least in my room. I also had a room right by staircase, which meant I got all of the noise from the lobby, coming up the staircase. Parking was street parking a couple of blocks away. This ended up not being an issue, though.

The hotel is situated beside the beautiful botanic garden, only a 10 minute walk to the centre. Our double room had a good size, lovely bright big windows which provided great noise isolation during the night. The beds were very comfortable, bathroom nicely renovated and everything was spotlessly clean. The very friendly and helpful reception is staff is available 24 hours. We cannot comment on the breakfast as we did not have it. But there are plenty of cafes and bars on the way to town which offer good cheap coffee and sandwiches etc. For the night time we can thoroughly recommend Bar Botanico which is just around the corner of the hotel. All in all we had a great stay at Hotel Botanico and will happily return next time when we are in Coimbra.

Clean, modern and straight forward the minimum to have a confortable stay. Breakfast is simple, but with enough options to satisfy all tastes.

The rrom was cold because we don't have control over the thermostat, is centralized. Plus, the air conditioner has a very loud noise when in stand by (is less noisy if it is working). In general, noise isolation is not good as well, you can eeasily hear your neighbors and the lift.

We had a very good time. The hotel is very close to the city centre and the walk to get there is lovely. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean and well furnished. The air conditioner in the room worked perfectly. The breakfast was the only thing that could be improved, but it was still good and offered both sweet and savoury food as well as seasonal fruit.

The breakfast was good and had much to choise. Located on a calm zone. The room was clean and the WC was new.

We could listen a little bit the cars sound passing by the street outside, due to the proximity of it. They should have a bigger car parking, so we could park the car near (in front of the building. there's only place for 1 car), instead parked in the street behind the hotel at about 400m of it, (in matter of fact, there was no problem about it).

We stayed at Hotel Botanico de Coimbra for several days in July. The hotel was well-managed, rooms were very comfortable and air conditioned, complementary wifi worked very well, and the hotel served a good light breakfast. There is a small bodega and cafe next door which made it very nice for drinks and other items. We very much enjoyed the stay and look forward to staying again in the future.

The location is fairly far from restaurants and bars. You have to walk about 15-20 minutes to get to the top of the area where you start to find restaurants, etc., and then you must go down lots of steps to get to most of the historic area. We are in pretty good shape and we ended up climbing 112 stories (Apple iPhone metrics) in 2.5 days of sightseeing. The staff was very pleasant and the room was comfortable.

Super clean, comfortable room with light from 2 shuttered windows. Bathroom small but had all I needed. Wide corridors and lovely stairs and landings with windows and plants. Dining room with staggered continental breakfast included. And I got my coffee fix in the mornings ☺️

Nothing to dislike.

Delicious bread, pastries and orange juice at the breakfast. Two parking spaces right in front of hotel and I got one of them! Great location for sightseeing around the botanical gardens and the university. My room had a beautiful front balcony with a fantastic view across the valley.

The coffee at breakfast wasn’t my “cup of tea”, but it almost never is anywhere in Portugal😟.

The staff were so sweet and helpful! loved them! they made my stay comfortable and I felt like I could depend on them. They also kindly agreed to let me check in at 2 am which was helpful. The hotel is very clean and it is close to the university which was perfect.

At random times during the night I could smell smoke even though my room is non-smoking.
