Clean. Comfortable. Good breakfast. Spacious.

It was FAR AWAY FROM PARKING! The owner did NOT communicate the issues with dropping off luggage until after booking (the would be NO CAR ACCESS AT ALL!) - no option was given to cancel the reservation! This was extremely difficult in my situation as a solo traveller with bad knees. I pared down my luggage so I could just carry what I needed for the night. The lock system on the individual room door was difficult. There was no desk clerk. I thought I was staying at a place that would have one….My concern was that I had no phone to use and no internet in the event that of problems with check in. Very disappointing!

Coded access to building difficult to understand.

Everything was wonderful!! The room and bed was very comfortable. Honor system bar with a relaxing outdoor area in the back (with lime trees). Complimentary cake and coffee. PERFECT location near restaurants, shops, etc. Guests complete a sheet indicating preferences for breakfast (and time window) and everything was served as requested. The friendly staff ensured we had everything that we needed! Wish we could have stayed longer!!!! We will be back to explore the area more and we will stay at Casa do Juncal!

Upon driving to the location, there is a small sign indicating that the one-way road is for authorized vehicles only. As someone staying at the hotel, you are authorized, but it did cause me to momentarily pause and loop around the block once. Additionally, there are some parking spots marked off for the hotel to allow you to park and drop off your luggage. The sign indicating this is clear and obvious if you know about it and are looking for it. We weren't looking for it as we weren't sure of the EXACT location of the hotel on the street. These are VERY, VERY, VERY minor issues, but could be made more clear in the arrival instructions.

A charming property at the heart of the city. The staff was really attentive, the check-in process went like a breeze, and the breaksfast was wonderful. The room is cosy and comfortable, combining the classic structure of the building with a modern look. There is a lovely back yard to enjoy the day.

A wish the room had a mini-fridge. Some of the light switches were a bit confusing to operate.

The location was amazing- right in the middle of the historic centre. It was really nice knowing you had somewhere to come back to if you got tired, needed a drink or wee! Check in was super easy and a really calming environment. The rooms were lovely and the communal spaces were also great- a lovely garden to chill in. Our main host was Cátia and she was so lovely- cooked an amazing breakfast basically tailored to the guest and was really accommodating in general. Happy for us to leave our bags and help wherever possible. (Additionally, everyone in Guimaraes is really lovely and helpful and we really enjoyed our time in the city!)

The kindest most caring staff imaginable. When I became ill we were lucky to be able to secure an extra night. Iola then went on a Sunday to a doctor and pharmacy to obtain medication for me. I cannot believe the kindness and care she gave me Casa do Juncal is also in the most perfect location in the Historic Centre but away from the noise and crowds. Both our rooms were delightful but the suite on the top floor was exceptional. Car parking nearby was easily accessed and inexpensive.

Loved the location, the building, common areas and the garden.

If the room had one less wardobre and had small kitchenet (with a mini fridge and microwave) instead it would be perfect. A side or study table is not enough to keep all the snacks, bevarege or appliances. The room had minor defects: the door handle, bedroom wall and on the shower box.

We were really pleased with our stay at Casa do Juncal. I always expect to be at least a little disappointed in a hotel or local accommodations, but that was not the case here. Checking in and out was very easy, staff were lovely and the place was attractive and spotless. The complementary breakfast was very nice and the dining room was pretty. The location is amazing.

The weather was rainy so we couldn't use the garden area, but I'm sure it's delightful on a warm sunny day

Breakfast was delightful, a lot of options and everything really fresh. The location is great for a walk around the city. The self check-in is extremely easy to deal with.

The information in the detail is a bit confusing, I believe it's something like "check-in after 8 is paid" however, we go there and everything was self-check in. The stairs to the bedroom are interesting, but not super great if you wake up in the middle of the night.

Good location, great breakfast.

My room had weird stairs to get to my bed, i. e. the bathroom was on one level, but the bed on a different level. If one is not young, one could easily break the legs when going to the bathroom at night.
