This place is the best hostel I’ve stayed at in Portugal & I have travelled all over for a month! Really such a high standard for the price. The facilities are excellent - kitchen, garden hangout area. Dorm rooms are spacious with good lockers below beds and plenty of rooms for bags. Location is brilliant for exploring the city and easy access to buses/metro/trains to get further out. Bathrooms were always clean and showers are powerful 🙌🏼. Staff are super helpful & friendly, even borrowed me a yoga mat 😊

The only thing it lacks is an indoors space that has comfortable sofas for chilling out when it’s colder outdoors. The dining room can be used for this but it is more of an eating/co-working space.

I was impressed with the bunk bed construction. It was solid and had a privacy curtain. Having stayed at hostels for many years it is common to have stand alone bunk beds but they are usually of simpler design and have a tendency to shake and squeak with any movement. A shelf and individual light was also an incredible bonus for placing eye glasses and cell phones. These may be seemingly trivial things but make budget travelling a little better. Bathrooms were modern and clean. After some internet research taking the Metro to the hostel from the airport was a breeze. I will come back on my next trip.

Not that it mattered to me but walking uphill to the hostel may be difficult for some with heavier luggage.

Beautiful and cool hostel that used to be a monastery, the local area was pretty rough but a 30-40 minute walk to the best areas for travellers/nightlife. The kitchen was well equipped and the garden/bar area was lovely! The beds were comfortable.

The bathrooms/toilets could’ve been cleaner, there was hair all over the floor and sinks almost our entire stay. There was no soap put into dispensers. Also very few toilets and showers for so many guests. There was no cleaning in the shared dorm room for our 4 nights stay, had to ask for it to be done as the floor was covered in sand from other guests. The staff were helpful once asked though. We did hear one reception staff complaining about guests from certain countries which we found pretty mean and disappointing.

this was the greatest hostel I have ever been to, the atmosphere was amazing, the people that work there are the nicest people, they helped me with everything and are always down for a friendly conversation. the hostel rooms are very clean and the bed is super comfortable, the drawers for your luggage are spatial. the garden is super pretty and it has a really nice bar next to it with amazing bartender who always made sure everything was good and will check on you. the kitchen is equiped with everything you need. there are a lot of showers and toilets there, so you will never have to wait for any, they are also really clean and big. the building itself is so pretty. I would 100% recommend this hostel to everyone.

I liked everything but the only downside was the fact that the room I was in was next to the road where the tram drives and that thing is really really loud.

What a fantastic experience, lovely personnel and perfectly run hostel! Loved it. My dorm room was spacious, clean and luminous with drawers of storing your luggage, hooks on the walls for hanging your clothes and curtains, reading light & plugs in your bunk bed Large and perfectly equipped kitchen and breakfast area, well kept garden with outdoor eating areas and sun loungers l Although not located exactly downtown Sant Jordi Hostel Lisbon is well connected by public transport and is located in Lisbon’s most cool neighbourhood Oh, did I mention that the building’s architecture is stunning? Well, there is that too

We got a beautiful room with a balcony. The hostel has got 2 bars, which are pretty affordable (€ 6.50 for a mojito I think). The staff are very friendly. The kitchen is also a nice addition and it has good equipment. A nice bonus is that the hostel is right in front of tram 28!

The hostel isn't super close to the centre or river, but it's not really a problem. The tram and metro are right around the corner and bring you right to the centre of Lisboa.

The afternoon and overnight staff were great and very helpful. I was able to check out early in the morning to catch the flight back. Also, the cleaning and kitchen staff were amazing, the breakfast was great. The facility is beautiful, an old historic building turned into a beautiful hostel. There is a gorgeous outdoor garden by the kitchen/ dining area. Friendly and pleasant environment. Bus stops are right across the hostel and around the corner of the hostel.

The room I was staying faced the main street and it was very loud due to traffic (public transportation, cars, people) till very late at night and then around 6 am will start again. The staff needs to be a little more knowledgeable about their public transportation passes (Lisboa city cards and other travel passes). Location is about 30 minutes walk to the city center and main attractions.

The breakfast was great light fare, and you can cook yourself eggs if wanted. Coffee is vending machine dispenser but good, kitchen is clean and nicely laid out like a restaurant. The room had four beds (steel bunks) with light blocking privacy curtains, USB/power and personal bed light; comfortable beds and no squeaking. A large drawer under the bed was quiet and made for easy access to belongings and keeping the room clean. The open windows were large with iron bars for security and allowed for great ventilation and cooling (AC also if needed). The bathroom was large with many stalls and showers, kept clean. The old convent garden was such a treat to relax in with comfortable lounge chairs or small tables, and their own bar/cafe! Beautiful restoration job and tastefully designed improvements. The key system is genius. 24/7 registration desk attendant; great help in navigating the city.

The showers didn’t drain well during my stay. Would’ve been good (in my case with no GPS) to have detailed map of the city available.

I was in 4 person dorm at the backyard-side and had a perfect stay. Very clean accomodation. The bar in the yard is super fun. There is also a bad insider in the basement. The sound is not too hard, they have a decibelmeter in the bar and are paying attention to the loudness, so you can sleep whenever you like. Earplugs are more needed for other guests snoring and stuff. Staf was very helpfull and so kind. Thanks, they will make you feel at home! All in all, great stay, great location aswell. Thanks

Ventilation only possible with open window, some guests will close jt during the night which give bad odour and lot of moisture. Make a permanent ventilation in the window possible

Such a pleasant and comfortable experience at this hostel. The staff was super friendly. The rooms and all other facilities were always very clean and accessible. For musicians wanting to have a jam session there is a guitar available. The garden with the bar is simply cozy and well maintained. The drinks at the bar are very well made and the selection of both the food and drinks is very good. The kitchen is also very well equipped and clean. If you don’t have your own locker they give you one with the down payment of 5 euros that you receive back at the checkout. The location was perfect: 20-25 min walk from the city centre or if you don’t like walking there are always trams and the metro station available nearby.
