Staying at Whatever Art was simply lovely. In the centre of the city (you can walk to the sightseeing spots) , clean and really lovely room, but what most surprised me, how genuenly nice the host Carlos was. Thank you for everything, I shall visit again!!

Really enjoyed my stay here. I was travelling for work but didn't want to stay in an impersonal hotel or spend a fortune. My room was small but perfectly fine. Shared bathroom was no problem. Carlos was helpful and very kind - letting me check in early. I also appreciated the complimentary snacks. What I liked most about the accommodation was the fantastic location - near two metro lines (one that takes you to the airport) - but not in the hectic tourist area. I easily travelled into the more touristy parts but enjoyed the quiet of this neighbourhood without the tourists. For example, you can take the metro to Rato easily and then do a lovely walk to the historic area (Chiado & Bairro Alto) from there. It is also on the metro line to the university (two stops), which was useful for my work.

The location is ok, close to Metro. The house has nice garden, also the fridge is useful. The owner Carlos was kind and helped us with city public traffic and early morning taxi.

The room is small, shared bathroom was no problem.

Good quiet location on the edge of the CBD and just a short walk from the subway (8-10 mins). It is also convenient for the airport (we were there in 15 mins). Easy access to the main town and plenty of nearby eateries and a museum. We loved the aesthetic of the property with the owner, Carlos, who is an artist (and quite a character), who is connected to his community, displaying his art. It felt more like a home than anything else. Carlos is super friendly and spoke passionately about the city and its people. There are tea and coffee and pastries in the living room if you need. We took a room with the terrace access and that was fabulous. The bathroom was huge with a decent shower.

Not a lot to dislike. He is an bed and breakfast which is in a great location. I would beware of plugging too many appliances which may cause a the circuit breaker to kick in (we brought our own hairdryer which caused this once) while charging an ipad and two phones. Carlos may have resolved this by the time of writing.

The room and the common areas, including the backyard terrace, were comfortable and artistic, warm and welcoming. The host was extremely interesting to talk to and very helpful. He even gave us metro cards. We shared a bathroom with another guest, which I don’t normally do. But the other rooms were taken. The bathroom was super clean. Clearly the host takes immaculate care of his b and b. The location couldn’t be more convenient, safe and welcoming. I would stay here again on my next trip.

I wouldn’t change a thing.

The location is magnificent. A lovely part of town, with excellent access to public transport. Although the area is busy the room we had is very quiet, with access to a lovely terrace. The host, Carlos, was friendly, helpful and generous. We would certainly return next time we are in Lisbon.

The facilities are homely, though not modern. This was what we expected, though some people may expect facilities such as air conditioning during the hot periods of the year. The buffet was available for breakfast, and we also enjoyed topping up at the nearby pasteleria with coffee and pastries.

First of all I’d like to start off by saying thank you to Carlos for being the most amazing host & friend to us , we are going to miss you ! We were made to feel so welcome and we really felt at home , As for the apartment we loved how each room is decorated with beautiful art pieces and paintings , quirky lights and furniture . The beds were very comfortable and all rooms were very clean . The location is superb , with only a 4 minute walk to the nearest Metro station and bus stop . Right next to the apartment there is a shopping centre with a food hall and plenty of restaurants , bakeries and supermarkets near by should you need them. There are plenty of cakes , biscuits , juices , tea and coffee in the dining room to have in the morning before you set off . Finally , it was so nice to relax in the terrace by the garden with a glass of wine in the evening , with the sound of wind chimes and overlooking the little pond . We hope to see you again soon Carlos & Casa !

We loved everything !

We got really lucky - Carlos is the most endearing host ever, he always tried to make us feel comfortable, prepared extra free coffe in the mornings, which we took on the enchanted little garden-terrace. Our room was not really a suite - actually the rooms are rather small and cosy - but very clean and immediately after our arrival Carlos showed us the rest of the acommodation and told us to feel free to stay in the adjoining diner room or relax on the nice couch near the entrance (communication with Carlos is easy - he speaks English excellently!). The place is quiet and only about 5 minutes from numerous stations for public transport, also only about 25 minutes to the airport by bus - the perfect place for a city trip. Since home is where you feel easy and welcome my daughter and me had 6 days "at home with Carlos" in Lisboa. We are really grateful to our host that he helped make our stay such a great experience!

It was such a home like feel. Carlos was there and available to help with recommendations and we had great conversations about Lisbon. The ambiance was warm. Friendly. Great location. Beds very comfortable. Nice touch to have cookies, tea, bread and fruit available all day. He was kind, generous and accommodating letting us leave bags early and late which was very helpful. I loved the old fashioned bath tub and the lighting and art in this home in general.

A delightful space filled with architecture and art. Quiet yet in the city with very easy transport and walking options. The Host Carlos has created a space that is both Art Gallery and resting space at the same time. He offered itinerary help and ideas and supplied a very safe feeling base for our first trip to Portugal.

The wild cats that visit the garden wouldn’t allow us to pet them:) Very selfish!
