Great location literally a few steps away from the city wall. Easy to reach, no need to climb up to the hotel with your luggage, possibility to park right in front of the hotel and even in the parking garage of the hotel. If this is not available, there are big public parking areas nearby. No stairs to take to reach the hotel - once you are in Obidos you will understand what a great thing it is. Lovely rooms with extraordinary, panoramic view. There is an elevator in the hotel. Very nice breakfast and helpful staff. Close to some good restaurants and to the stairs to enter city walls for a nice stroll around medieval castle. One of the few hotels with a swimming pool. All in all a great experience!

Great location, just outside the castle wall. Nice hotel, in medieval theme, which is everywhere; lobby, room, everywhere. The parking spaces in the enclosed garage are very convenient, but somewhat difficult to reach in the tiny streets. Very helpful, friendly staff. Excellent pool with magnificent view. Breakfast included with a lot of choice.

Not much. Breakfast was decent, but in an enclosed ‘general purpose’ room, with no windows. The floor needed deep cleaning, was slippery.

Breakfast excellent. Very wide choice of food to cover every taste. Welcomed with a glass of port in the lounge in the evening and met other guests and have exchanged emails! Very cosy sitting areas. Wonderful array of items from historic times. A really wonderful stay. Parking place available under hotel. Recommended to try the restaurant opposite Ja Mon. An absolute delight..visited both evenings as dinner not available at hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Real Obidos. We arrived via rental car and were able to take advantage of the hotels secured parking garage which was really helpful. The breakfast was amazing! They offered anything and everything you could ever want to start out your day! The Welcome wine / port / light snack was lovely and a very nice touch. The location of the hotel just outside the city wall was perfect!

The room was very comfortable, the pool was very nice, breakfast was very good and more than enough! Staff was super helpful and very friendly. The welcome wine was a very nice touch ;)

The poolside bed didn't have it's cover on like in the pictures. It would have been nice to lounge on it under a nice shade. Finally, I think it would be good to check on the elevator's suspension. Also you could see while opening the doors that it wouldn't reach the floor completely.

Location was fantastic. Walking distance into the town with several restaurants nearby. But breakfast choices was limited as the town is quite small. There was medieval touch everywhere in the hotel. From the bedroom to the common area to the breakfast area.

Parking cannot be reserved, it's subject to availability. Normally parking on the street is a feasible solution. We happened to come during the week of the medieval festival, so parking on the street was out of questions.

The location of the property right outside the town wall was perfect. There is a direct entrance into the town right up the street from the hotel. The room was large enough to feel comfortable with a small balcony with a view of the town above it. The addition of a coffee machine and tea kettle in the room was also appreciated. It was a very nice stay at a lovely property.

Perfect hotel for our one night stay. Yes it is decorated as a medieval place but we found that to be fun and interesting. The room was big enough and the bed comfortable. It was nice to look out the windows to the city walls. It was definitely well located. It was just a few minutes walk into the old town but easy to get to with a car and our suitcases.

I guess only having one key could have been an issue but we made it work.

The hotel was located just outside the walled city with easy access through a pedestrian gate just steps away from the front entrance. Parking was a bit of a challenge (narrow streets), but the staff on check in were most helpful and it was sorted out in no time. The hotel is decorated as a medieval manor house with antiques, swords and armour scattered throughout. Check in was a breeze, but we were surprised at the size of the key. Getting to the room was simple and once there - the size of the key made sense. Opening the door took a moment as you had to unlock the door and then use a handle to lift and interior latch (it took a moment or two). Once inside, there is a plastic insert included with the key that must be inserted into a slot near the door to allow the lights, etc. to work. The room was small, but clean and cozy with a view to a grassed - terraced. The bathroom was to die for - lots of space and a bathtub large enough that I thought I could do laps in. Restaurants were mere steps away and the front desk staff were very helpful with suggestions. An unexpected treat was the common area with a large fireplace, comfortable seating and an honour bar with a wide variety of choices (you noted what you drank on a chit and provided it to the staff to be added to your room). It was a treat to enjoy a glass of port (or three) after dinner and a walk around the town. Room was quiet and the bed comfortable. Breakfast the next day was excellent with hot and cold choices, great coffee and some exceptional (according to my spouse) breakfast cakes. All in all, highly recommended during your stay in Obidos.

You need to be careful and confirm when the hotel is open. In the off season, it sometimes closes for a portion of the week (for example, when checking out the staff told us the hotel would be closed from Sunday afternoon until Tuesday - only accepting guests on Wednesday). It didn't effect us, but I don't remember seeing this when we booked the hotel online.

First and foremost is the middle ages decorations, which make the hotel really special. The location, just at the entrance through the wall to the old city, was super convenient. The underground parking is a huge bonus. Breakfast was really good, tasty, with a lot of to choose from, and very high quality ingredients (quail eggs, etc.).

Our rooms were smaller than expected, and the shower had a little low water pressure. But... that was quite insignificant.
