This hotel is located in a very old building--originally the mayor's house--in a town that dates back to the middle ages. The charming decor is designed to take you back to that period. The location was excellent, next to the old city wall, within walking distance to everything and with excellent long range views. Since we traveled in the off season, the ample breakfast was made to order (rather than a buffet).

The bathtub was large and gorgeous...and absolutely treacherous when wet. I slipped but managed to stay upright. My husband actually fell, but was thankfully ok.

The staff were welcoming and you felt that they really wanted to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Our room was perfect and had this little 'turret' with window seats which had fantastic views. There were also French windows with a little balcony with fantastic views over the valley and up to the fortified walls of the town. The bathroom was a good size and well appointed. We had a birthday and the hotel, unprompted, placed a bottle of sparkling wine in our room which was a lovely touch. They also recommended and arranged for a table at a nearby restaurant for our evening meal which was superb. Overall our stay was just wonderful. Thank you.

Hotel is very unique and uplifting. Our room on the ground floor was large and comfortable with lots of natural light. Our favourite place was the large terrace with a spectacular view of Obidos's town wall. On both of our nights there we relaxed on the terrace with a glass of wine and watched the lights of the castle wall come on as the sun set. The pool was refreshing with lots of lounge chairs and a sunning bed to accommodate the guests. Buffet breakfast was incredible! The parking garage was a terrific plus for a small town European hotel.

Our room was a little humid and damp. The air conditioning helped but didn't fully eliminate the dampness. For us, this wasn't a big concern. We slept well in a very comfortable King bed and enjoyed the spacious room.

It was spectacular! Charmingly medieval in decor but thoroughly modern in amenities!! Fantastic location just a short block away from castle wall. The staff was consistently superior in friendliness, helpfulness and courtesy. They even made us a Take Away Breakfast Box as we were leaving early. On-site garage was a fantastic relief to avoid parking stress!

Nothing at all. It was one of my favorite hotel stays ever! My 6’4” husband just mentioned that the ceiling going down to the garage could use some “low ceiling warning tape”. Or a knight’s helmet!😉

Great location literally a few steps away from the city wall. Easy to reach, no need to climb up to the hotel with your luggage, possibility to park right in front of the hotel and even in the parking garage of the hotel. If this is not available, there are big public parking areas nearby. No stairs to take to reach the hotel - once you are in Obidos you will understand what a great thing it is. Lovely rooms with extraordinary, panoramic view. There is an elevator in the hotel. Very nice breakfast and helpful staff. Close to some good restaurants and to the stairs to enter city walls for a nice stroll around medieval castle. One of the few hotels with a swimming pool. All in all a great experience!

The medieval feel of this hotel fits right in with the castle above it. Every detail has been thought of! Everything is clean and comfortable, parking under the hotel was super convenient. Bed was comfortable, room was large, breakfast was delicious with a large selection to choose from. Location to the castle was perfect. Staff was super friendly and the welcome drink at the fireplace was perfect. We'll be back for sure!

Great location, just outside the castle wall. Nice hotel, in medieval theme, which is everywhere; lobby, room, everywhere. The parking spaces in the enclosed garage are very convenient, but somewhat difficult to reach in the tiny streets. Very helpful, friendly staff. Excellent pool with magnificent view. Breakfast included with a lot of choice.

Not much. Breakfast was decent, but in an enclosed ‘general purpose’ room, with no windows. The floor needed deep cleaning, was slippery.

Breakfast excellent. Very wide choice of food to cover every taste. Welcomed with a glass of port in the lounge in the evening and met other guests and have exchanged emails! Very cosy sitting areas. Wonderful array of items from historic times. A really wonderful stay. Parking place available under hotel. Recommended to try the restaurant opposite Ja Mon. An absolute delight..visited both evenings as dinner not available at hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Real Obidos. We arrived via rental car and were able to take advantage of the hotels secured parking garage which was really helpful. The breakfast was amazing! They offered anything and everything you could ever want to start out your day! The Welcome wine / port / light snack was lovely and a very nice touch. The location of the hotel just outside the city wall was perfect!

The room was very comfortable, the pool was very nice, breakfast was very good and more than enough! Staff was super helpful and very friendly. The welcome wine was a very nice touch ;)

The poolside bed didn't have it's cover on like in the pictures. It would have been nice to lounge on it under a nice shade. Finally, I think it would be good to check on the elevator's suspension. Also you could see while opening the doors that it wouldn't reach the floor completely.
