Enjoyed the remote location. Enjoyed the bath in the Suite room. Sunset was beautiful and Hotel has a restaurant that has good food options too. Breakfast was good enough, since it was included in the stay. Had a small assortment of bakery goods, had also a crepe machine, which I wasn't eager to personally use. Juices from concentrated solutions and hot drinks. Workers seemed fairly nice. They informed us they have a pool and a spa available to guests, you must book with reception prior to using.

Bath could have had a better mechanism for drainage. Was difficult to open even with the lever. Had to pry open a couple hours after the bath. Sensors on the jacuzzi aspect are very sensitive. Humidity built up around 4 in the morning and woke us up because it activated the jacuzzi function of our bath due to the condensation happening there. I also wish they cleaned the room more before our arrival. Bed was good but i wish they had vaccumed the sofa, it had hairs. Bathroom was ok but could have also rinsed the bath too. Nevertheless I enjoyed the stay, just keep and eye for sudden wakeup calls in the middle of the night or leave the extractor running in the bathroom when you're done using it.

The location of the hotel right on the river, boasting amazing views all around. The large room Windows and the balcony overlooking the river. Staff was genuinely nice and warm, and attentive, quick to respond. Everyday we had a complimentary large bottle of water in the room. The pool is great to catch some sun, swim and relax. The restaurant is very good. One of the evenings it was warm enough, so we had di ner outside, overlooking the river. It's priceless.

We would have liked a big bed, instead of two individual beds.

Almost everything about this place was amazing. A great restaurant with reasonable pricing was a surprise. The room overlooked the river and views from your private balcony were fantastic out in the country and very relaxing. The spa was generally good with a few signs of wear and tear

When we arrived we had to go looking for someone to check us in, even though they were aware of our approximate arrival time. Finally a kitchen staff was found out back and went to get the front desk person who was in some other part of the building. 20-30 minutes later.

The hotel is located in a fabulous location - by the river with a view of the mountains. The hotel rooms were classic, the same as in most other places, but the greatest value of the rooms is that they have their own balconies where you can enjoy wine and the sounds of nature and the river in the evening. Very delicious food in the restaurant, large portions. We were also pleasantly surprised by the breakfast options. I would definitely like to come back here someday.

the location the room the nice small spa and the view were great the food was very good and high quality the staff were very friendly and helpful we especialy liked the professional and highly efficient waitress at the evening dining and also the friendly reception staff in all it was the best hotel in our 9 day visit to portugal

We liked everything. Never been to this area or hotel before, so it was a stab in the dark. We stayed 4 nights Room had a super views of the Mondego river. Clean and up to date. Very quiet location. Meals were excellent. Head waiter couldn't do enough for us. Not only with the food but information about where to visit. Loved the pool. Being a small hotel, most of the time we had it to ourselves. Room has a fridge and safe. River trips were available but we didn't take one. You can go 2ks either way from the hotel and there isn't another building, just the views.

To be honest it is almost impossible to pick holes in this hotel. We would recommend it to anyone. Perhaps a kettle in the room would be nice, but not essential. That's it.

This hotel was absolutely perfect, exactly what we needed for a relaxing couple of days during our Porto to Faro road trip. Our large corner room had panoramic views over the lake, the spa facilities included pool, sauna and hammam and were most welcome. The restaurant made excellent Portuguese cuisine and genuine cocktails. The external pool was immaculately clean and the staff both efficient and friendly.

Lots of choice from cooked breakfast to fresh fruit, cereals, breads, yoghurt, meats & cheeses. Hotel was as the name i.e. rural location which is why we chose it. Beautiful scenery and very peaceful overlooking the river. Rooms large with lovely outlook, with all having their own balconies. WiFi connected instantly. Staff all very friendly and helpful, especially Antonio when we arrived after midnight he made us a cup of tea and gave us some cake as he could see we'd had a difficult journey. Housekeeping was very efficient.

However, each breakfast type was limited e.g. cooked breakfast only had 3 items fried eggs, scrambled eggs & cooked ham/bacon. Cereals only had 3 choices; chocolate shells, honey stars & honey flakes. Dinner started late. Had to ask for cold milk for cup of tea. Would have been good to have kettle in room to make hot drinks. Disappointingly the spa facilities weren't available during our stay.

The room was big and the view was amazing, the staff was super nice and always ready to help on anything, it is a really good place to have a calm vacation in the middle of nature and just rest. The sauna was very nice and not crowded, since you have to book your time on the hotel schedule, and the restaurant served great food.

The walls of the bedroom were a little bit dirty/scratched, the massages of the spa were not available to book on the same day since they do not have an in-house masseuse so they had to check availability with her, and we could not book it on the spot.

Amazing view on the river, the super nice staff and the location is perfect for relaxing a few days.

Lack of actvities for kids like under 6 years old. Also the hotel needs to reshape some areas like the pool area had lots of rotten wood, the shower was not working, etc. The rooms need more attention to cleaning. Spider webs in some places and for the first time we enter the room, it smelled bad. Like sweat...
