We visited here on Madeira Island in our second accommodation after our visit to Funchal. It is located on the north side of the island, where the sun does not shine at all. This makes the place seem colder and darker than the south side of the island, where the sun shines.　However, it is conveniently located for driving and hiking around the island. It is also a good and convenient place to stay for a few days, with several restaurants, supermarkets and bakeries.

Parking a car is a bit difficult. The breakfast coffee is extremely bad. The eggs and stir-fried vegetables were good, but the choice of coffee beans was very disappointing.

The room was a stone's throw away from the beach (though this isn't a swimming beach). It was also right up against the tall cliff-face, which gave an imposing view in both directions. Even though I technically booked the 'mountain view' the hotel was kind enough to give me an oceanfront view, where I could hear the lapping ocean. It was so peaceful and conducive for writing that I stayed an additional night. They also had a jacuzzi and a swimming pool, though the pool wasn't heated.

It was all very nice, though I might suggest increasing the jacuzzi temperature just a bit -- it was on the tepid side.

This is a lovely hotel near the beach. It has good amenities like a pool, jacuzzy and a bar with panoramic view. The room was clean and well equipped. But the best thing was the staff. I got the best Piña Coladas by the skilled bartender Diego, and Kimberly at the restaurant was a true professional; always so friendly and went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. I also want to mention the cook Natasha, who made the most delicious omelette I had in my whole trip in Madeira. I have to say that the staff definately made the hotel feel like a five star hotel. The location is also perfect because you have just next to the hotel a mini market, 2 bakeries and lot of restaurants.

The rooms were a nice size and the beds were comfortable. There was a lift to save you from having to take bags on the stairs. The hotel was quiet enough and the roar of the waves loud as it was directly across the from the ocean which I enjoyed .The staff were friendly and thoughtful. The restaurant was good serving breakfast and then in the evening they had dinner. The hot tub was large but only really hot two of the four nights. The hotel was very clean and had many spots to sit and relax outside of the room. There was also a bar up a bunch of stairs that had a Birds Eye view.

The parking could be a challenge and even though we were there in the winter the room could get bit stuffy because there is no fan or a/c. And because of the location leaving the window open would cause a lot of moisture.

This hotel was an absolute shock for the price. Everything felt so premium, from the kindness of the staff that gave us a very nice room, with ocean view, to the pool and jacuzzi, also with ocean view. There's an amazing rooftop bar, a children's playground, a great restaurant, a lot of places to sit and relax. The room is extremely cosy, with bright colors. There's also a minibar in the room and some bathrobes are available. A market is located downstairs, with some great local beers. All other restaurants are minutes away. A lot of parking spaces are available in front of the hotel, in the street or the small parking lot. P.S. Try the "Porto de abrigo" bar, next to the hotel. You won't regret it

The fact that we stayed there only for a night.

A lovely hotel to stay in, very well decorated and spacious room, comfy bed, I was very happy with this place, also the chef Gabriel was fantastic, he made lovely dishes the 2 nights I was there and the other staff were very nice too. I spent two nights here and was very happy, it's a good base to explore the surrounding area if you're driving.

Not a complaint as such but this hotel is great if you have a car but if you don't it would be difficult to get around. But if you're driving its fine.

The cleanliness, the pool, the hottub (which is hot), the comfortable bed, the spacious room and its huge balcony, the nice bathroom and the clean towels (which smell pretty nice). Also, the breakfast is great : various choices and minute maid. To conclude, the location is also great : in front of the ocean; it could not be better.

Not enough space/tablets in the bathroom to store personal items (such as beauty bags).

I had such a great stay here! (Except for a fan) the room offered everything I needed and is well maintained. Breakfast was good. WiFi worked well. I loved the (heated!) pool. Despite not having many parking spaces I always managed to find one.

The room (17) got quite warm at night. I couldn't really let the breeze in, since it would leave me too exposed. I don't need AC but a fan would have been nice.

Everything! Perfect location! Sleeping with the sound of the ocean, super clean, beds comfortable, staff members so kind and service minded especially the lady who took us in (I think her mane was Cathy (sorry if I miss pronounce the name), other lady said she was new member of the team) - such a sweatheart! Clean swimmingpool and jakuzzi.. I highly recommend this place.. perfect price and qality ratio!

That we couldn't stay longer! It was fully booked!

Love it but booking.com didn’t charge my credit card for the stay and it’s their responsibility too because it says even with the voucher code that they hold the payment until I arrive and it’s charged

Booking.com need to charge my card straight away and not withhold fee. They still need to charge card because hotel is holding my credit details but booking needs to be online they say
