The hotel was well located, the staff were very friendly / accomadating, and there was car parking onsite onsite, although at an extra cost of €17.00 per day.

I should say that I have significant hotel experience, and in my opinion the breakfast bar was mainly geared up for continental breakfasts, and not for those Irish/English hot breakfast lovers. There was only a minimum amount of fried eggs & bacon kept in the hotlockers at any one time, and even when they were topped up, only small amounts were added to the hot lockeres. This meant we were waiting for items to arrive to the hotlockers, and subsequently we only got bits of our breakfast at a time. The plates were very small & cold, and I suggest that the hotel provides hot/warmed plates for the hot breakfast lovers as there's nothing worse that getting hot food and then putting it on a cold plate, it defeats the hole purpose of hot food.

The hotel was very good, clean and comfortable. We had breakfast each morning, which was excellent. We chose to eat out for dinner each day as there are some very good restaurants within 10 minutes walk from the hotel. We didn't use the pool and spa facilities, but they looked really good. Would recommend this hotel as it is in a good location to see Porto and metro is around the corner if needed

Everything new and clean. Staff is extremely friendly. We enjoyed our stay that much so we extended it. Highly recommend. The breakfast is various and delicious. There are fresh juices. There are 3 sockets from each side of the bed. Location is great - a supermarket around the corner, Catarina street 5 min walk

The best hotel we stayed at throughout our entire, one-month trip through Portugal. The staff were incredible, all of them, from the front desk staff (thank you, Ana!), to the restaurant staff and the cleaning staff. The room was great, with a wonderful bathroom and a shower you might not want to leave. The restaurant offered a variety of options, from soups to more sophisticated dishes, and the breakfast was also very good. The location is right next to Rua Santa Catarina and, if you like breweries, there is a Letra very close by (try the New England IPA!) that also serves great snack foods. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND BessaHotel Baixa.

Better than the pictures - gorgeous design details Staff very friendly and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Excellent location Got back to a lovely complimentary tray of goodies on my husband’s birthday - a lovely surprise. Pool was great! Breakfast delicious- great choice of hot cold and continental Spotless air conditioned rooms. Shower amazing! Spacious bedroom. Food in restaurant lush! Cocktails delicious! Beautiful outside seating area. It’s four star but feels more five star!!! Highly recommended!

First off, the location is unbeatable — it's so close to the city centre, with easy access to shops and all the amenities you could need. Everything was just a short walk away, making it incredibly convenient. The rooms weren’t that spacious.. But this wasn’t a big issue to me

The room was tastefully decorated. I loved the heated mirror in the shower. Location close enough to the main tourist area. So many restaurants and cafe nearby. Staff were polite and friendly. The pool and sauna were great. Plenty of warm towels and seating lounges available.

We were charged 2 EUR per Nespresso pods. It turned out that only the ones provided during check-in were complinentary. Not sure what happened but we definitely did not see the this information anywhere near the pods (the hotel said this information was posted). The bathrobes were worn-out.

Easy to find by car, once we got the right hotel (there's two Bessa Hotels in the city). Recently modernised hotel and felt really great inside. There's a nice courtyard at the back for relaxation purposes as well. Room was very spacious and the large bed very comfortable. Breakfast offered a wide choice and we enjoyed dinner in the hotel one evening as well. Staff were first class throughout and very friendly. Pool area was pleasant and not often busy so it's worth popping down. Hotel is in a great location near the main shopping area and not too far from city's attractions. The city is hilly though!

Car parking was a bit tight on arrival but had cleared by departure. View wasn't the greatest, looking away from the city.

I have stayed in this hotel various times and will continue to use it Location is good and very comfortable and clean. If you are arriving by car it has a very good indoor parking just down a few meters from the entrance with no direct lift to reception . On my last stay the restaurant was closed to guests as there was a special function. Had to walk down to centre to restaurant I didn't like this. If you intend having s meal make sure you can di so.

From the moment we arrived, we loved the hotel, the receptionist couldn't have been more helpful. We got an unexpected upgrade which was lovely as it was our wedding anniversary. The room and bathroom were fantastic and the bottles of water that were replaced each day. We were also fortunate to have a big balcony with a lounger and chairs. We had a kettle and coffee maker which was stocked. The swimming pool was lovely as were the robes and slippers in our room. The location was fantastic as it was near the Bohaloa underground station and the main street called via Katherine. We were also near a big shopping centre with a variety of shops and restaurants. I would recommend this hotel and if returning I would definitely stay again.
