I have lived & worked all over the world, staying in countless hotels, so I rarely take the time &/or effort to write reviews, ( I think I have only done 3 in 20 years), but this hotel most definitely deserves an excellent review & more. It was like finding a hidden diamond. I have stayed in 4 & 5 star hotels in Porto itself before & none compared to this. The staff were all, not only helpful, polite & professional, but incredibly attentive. We arrived very early & so left our bags whilst we went sightseeing, but in return to check into the room, our bags had already been taken to the room. A small thing perhaps but something very few hotels do & a sign of their attention to detail & guest comfort The room itself had one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in, in years. & the room was exceptionally clean. Breakfast was good, & really for the price the hotel far exceeded my expectations, (& I am quite fussy.) The location was great, easy walking distance to the seafront & historic centre, but far enough away to be quiet at night.The local market is only 5 minutes away & lots of shops (,of all kind from souvenir to high end clothes shops), as well as historic buildings, churches etc with 5 minutes walk. Also easy 10 minute walk from the main Trindade station (although if you have large suitcases & not cabin bags you might be better to get a taxi as the walk is slightly uphill & the ancient pavements can be difficult to manoeuvre cases (even with wheels,) over. I cannot recommend the hotel highly enough & if you can I would say to try & stretch to a room with an outside terrace, a lovely place to spend an hour resting in the sun with a glass of wine, in peace & quiet. Anyway if you stay here you can be sure to have the foundation of an excellent time in Porto. & Certainly given the effort all the staff put in, they should be rewarded with a fully booked hotel.

Nothing to complain about at all.

There was a lot of choice for breakfast from cereal, juice, yoghurt, fresh fruit and bread, toast, jam and pastries to scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon or cold meats. The coffee machine dispensed the best coffee we have ever tasted from a machine. All the staff were cheerful and friendly. The location was great too and within easy walking distance of many sites and the metro is nearby for travelling further afield. There is a supermarket Pingo Doce 200 metres away with self checkout desks (we used our foreign bank cards without a hitch) and a bank and restaurnt literally within yards.

Honestly we liked everything about this hotel.

Hotel is in a very good location, you can walk everywhere in the old part of town. There are many restaurants near by, we visited few on the street behind the hotel. Breakfast is quite ok, if you stay two-three nights: scrambled eggs, sauseges, chopped tomatoes, bread, cheese, ham, yoghurts and pastries like pastel del nata and good coffee selection from machine. Stuff is very helpful and friendly. Room was spacious, shower nice and we had also quite big balcony. Enaugh sockets near the bed to charge your phone, watch and other stuff.

The bed mattress was a little too hard for me, but this is my opinion, for my husband it was very comfy. There is no fridge or water kettle in the room.

The bed was comfortable and the shower was spacious. Our kids slept super well in the twin beds. We found the location to be quite convenient as it was a few blocks away from Mercado de Bolhao, nice restaurants, and just a 10-minute drive from the Porto Campanha train station. The breakfast area has a nice layout and you can sit on the balcony and enjoy the view.

We found the room space a little bit tight for a family of four as we had to constantly shuffle our luggage around to walk throughout the room. The breakfast options were underwhelming and limited so we decided to go out for breakfast after the first day.

We had an amazing staying at Hotel Spot and everything was good, the breakfast very well furbished and also the rooms were very clean. Right in the center of Porto, in a few minutes you're in midtown, near a metro station, near the bolhao market.

The pictures does not represent well the hotel honestly, i repeat everything was good but the perception was not like what we were expecting looking at the pictures. Also the view from my room is a street which is sometime noisy during the night. Everything acceptable anyway

Hospitalidade

I think it would be perfect if the room had one more bathroom.

The room size was decent, however the two “sides” were divided by a curtain. The place was a little crowded with 2 parents and two teenagers. The breakfast was good enough, lots of choices, the parking was very handy, the staff were friendly. Oh, and we found the best meat restaurant just one block away.

The breakfast area is a little small, but the most we waited was 6-7 minutes for a free table. The room is listed as “55 sq m”. Well, I didn’t had a ruler with me, but I owned an one bedroom apartment of 45 sq m that was huge compared with this room.

The hotel is very central. We were a group of 6 and we did not arrive at the same time, but still the check-in was super easy. The apartment was spacious and comfortable.

We only had 1 bathroom for 6 people. It’s manageable and that information is available so no big deal. The window in one of the rooms was very difficult to close and it wasn’t isolating well. The floor also needs a little fixing. The building looks old but the rooms are modern. The breakfast only had one plant milk option and it had chocolate in it… Nonetheless, it was a pleasant one night stay!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were able to securely store our luggage at the hotel while waiting to check-in and staff at the front desk provided a map and recommendations for nearby shopping, transportation and cafes. The hotel is in a great location, only a few mins walk to Rua da Santa Cantarina;10 mins to Porto University and Lello Bookstore and 20 mins to the Ribeirra district. The rooms are clean and modern and we enjoyed the free breakfast which included both hot and cold items plus tea/coffee/juice.

We can't think of anything we didn't like, but note that we stayed in a Suite which is listed as having four beds. The configuration is different than in Canada as the four beds were what we would consider two (two twins joined together and one double sofa bed). Staff were very accommodating and offered to separate the beds.

Me and my family we loved our stay here. The apartment was perfectly clean and had everything what you need for short or long stay. Everyone working here was super friendly - at the reception, at the breakfast and also the lovely cleaning ladies. The breakfast was delicious. Huge plus is the option to leave the luggages st the reception before check in and after check out. The location is perfect its in walking distance from the city monuments/ stores/ restaurants yet in a quiet street.

Everything was perfect.
