The hotel was stunning and in a quiet location just outside the city centre. Breakfast options were ok and the spa treatments were excellent.

The inside pool is currently closed for renovation - we were disappointed that this was not advised in advance as spa experience is not the same without. There was mould in the tiles and edges of the bathroom and the bath in an executive room was disappointingly small. There is a persistent weird smell in the downstairs area between the main building and the bedrooms. Coffee at breakfast is terrible - save yourself and order in town with a pastel de Nata!

the palace is beautiful!! the staff was nice!! the pool was great for our daughter she felt like a princess the building has history and is stunning!!! a bit strange that there is a separate building for sleeping quarters but we had so much fun and the breakfast was absolutely amazing!!!!!

Would have liked the pool bar to have opened slightly earlier - the best time for a swim was morning before it got too hot so would have been nice to have been able to get a drink before 12. The waiting staff were all so brilliant and helpful however I would say it they could benefit from more staff down in breakfast. Our first morning was fine but next two days were very busy. Absolutely can’t fault the staff who were there, all working really hard. Thank you :)

Beds were very comfy. Staff was very professional.

A little away from things. Thought we were actually staying in a palace but guest rooms were in a separate building.

The Palace, the garden and the river views are the only, but exceptional, great reasons to book there. Personnel is ok; facilities, rooms and breakfast as well. There is nothing particularly wrong (nothing will deeply disappoint you nor stopping you to go back when in Porto neither). Personnel offered an upgrade for being our first time in the hotel.

The Palace is needing some exterior maintenance (e.g. some art works are a bit derelict), but everything looks fine if you're a regular person. The gym s too small and poorly equipped for a hotel of these characteristics. During breakfast today the table was not 'balanced' and we needed to change it. There is nothing particularly good (apart from the awesome Palace, garden and views) with the brand hotel itself. It can be a bit far of everything, but this was totally fine for us.

Part of the hotel is a National Monument, and the interiors are stunning. They have even retained some of the original frescos in the hotel dining room. I took lots of photographs as the details on the ceilings and walls is amazing. The Palace is used for the reception of guests and dining. There is no accommodation in Palace. Good parking available on site.

The wardrobe space was too small for two travelers staying for 7 nights. The tea and coffee supply are only complimentary for the first day. A bit too far from Porto city and we didn't want to take the car into Porto.

Whilst the location is slightly outside the center / away from the old town, it is only 10 minutes by (free) hourly shuttle bus, and moreover because slightly outside the location feels like a real holiday resort with great pool and spa facilities with a superb view overlooking the Douro river

Room was relatively small and room available for suitcases / clothes, eg closets was very limited for 2 persons staying in the hotel for 3 nights

Traditional, old building retaining numerous original features re architecture and beautifully maintained. Suite excellent and very comfortable. Staff extremely polite and helpful. Service excellent and facilities at poolside and staff fantastic. Good location on the river with great views and shuttle service to city.

indoor pool / spa closed for refurbishment but not a major problem since outside temperature was 25-28 degrees and full sun. Required a day to establish the routes around the hotel re escalators / stairways between buildings and external services.

The main building looks exceptional. Amazing interiors. Nice restaurant. Fantastic bar. And staff is super courteous and helpful. The Palace grounds are small but beautifully manicured. The breakfast spread was elaborate.

The building that houses the bedrooms pales in comparison, the bedrooms are lacklustre and typical of a standard business hotel. So the contrast was quite stark between the main area that houses the bar and the restaurant and the residential area

The beautiful façade is luring and impressive , the staff are attentive, genuinely friendly and wanting to assist, and the breakfast full and very generous. Location, a bit away from it all, can be a bit problematical with logistics, although it is situated directly on the river, which is a real asset to the place.

The room. Although generous in size , my ‘Deluxe River View’ room felt tired and in need of some care, and the ‘beautiful river view’ confined by a relatively small window : it could be so much more. The bed, however, was very comfortable and, as mentioned, the staff are very good there.
