Great sea and mountain views. The room was spotlessly clean. When we arrived , there was a romantic decoration on the bed and lively message from the hotel in the room with complementary sweet and drink! The staff were all friendly and breakfast was delicious. We were given free ticket to the new rock swimming pool each day.

Lack of facilities and services , such as local tours and excursion booking at the hotel reception . So you will have to find it online. In fact there is no local tours departing at Porto Moniz so you would have to drive to Funchal or to Calheta. The hotel was situated in Porto Moniz which was too remote for us. Without a rent a car, you will not survive. We used a taxi from /to airport but as soon as we arrived we realised there was little thing we can do in the village and decided to hire a car. But to go and collect a car we needed to take a bus to Funchal and it was a hell of a long journey. With a rent- a car you could go to other touristic places island . But if you just stay in Porto Moniz you would get bored.

Really nice hotel in a central location of Porto Moniz and has a small parking lot (probably gets busy quick in high season but there is paid lots nearby for 5 Euros a day). The pool on the top of the roof is lovely and has an amazing view. The room was really modern, with a balcony over looking the water and really clean. The breakfast was really nice. The staff was awesome, especially the woman who gave us our welcome drink and was working during breakfast. They also gave everyone a free bottle of sparkling wine on the first night.

The hotel is wonderful, very nice and very clean rooms, confortable beds, impressive and marvelous views from the room's balcony. Also big room with good amenities and a welcome champaign bottle, really nice one. The spa and indoor pool services were great, also not crowded, so we enjoyed it a lot. The infinity pool in the rooftop was amazing with incredible views, however, as the weather in April was not that nice, we couldn't try it, but we took nice pictures up there. The breakfast is amazing, I think one of the best we've tried. Coffee is great, different options and handmade cakes and omelets. Many thanks for the staff for showing up to sing "Happy Birthday" to my boyfriend and bringing a cake with candles the day of his birthday, really nice gesture. Finally, the staff is wonderful, they are helpful and nice, I think this is one of the best thing from this hotel. They even gave us a handmade jam as goodbye present. Thanks to all!!

Pools lovely but small - not suitable for swimming, more for lounging. Temperature regulation of spa facilities inconsistant - hot tub not hot enough and steam room too hot to be able to sit down in at times. Cold bucket in spa area not filling/working properly. Coffee machine in room flimsy/difficult to operate.

By far the best hotel we stayed in. The moment you step in, the staff makes you feel like the most important and only residents in the hotel. Very attentive, professional, polite, friendly, sweet, and lovely. All the necessary information is provided clearly upon arrival. Cleanliness, comfort, decor, and state of the facilities are on the highest level. Breakfast choices and quality are very, very good. All the little surprises along your stay just add to the overall satisfaction. The ideal location for beautiful levadas walks on the north side of the island. Short minutes drive from another fantastic town serving delicious food. The natural pools at the doorstep make it a wonderful spot for a romantic, solo, or family stay.

Dinner service was a little slow, which was acknowledged at the end by the staff themselves, yet still very professional, friendly, and going above and beyond to make your stay as memorable as possible. In a positive way. Give it a go, and you won't regret it.

Stopped here for 6 nights and we had a pretty good stay. Decent breakfast in the morning, exceptionally clean, decent amenities with natural pools across the road, rooftop outdoor pool and heated indoor pool. We had an incident occur and the staff rectified it quickly and professionally which we are grateful for. Lucia in the breakfast area was pleasant every morning and works incredibly hard to make your stay pleasant. We would recommend this stay and hope to return in the future.

There is no A/C in this property if that bothers you. We were happy to keep the patio doors open in the night and listen to the ocean.

Received a complimentary bottle of local sparkling blue beverage as a welcome gift 🍾. Breakfast on the terrace was delightful 🍳, and the omelet chef was very polite and made an amazing omelet. Also in hotel hot sauna and steam room 👍 near indoor pool. Close to natural ocean baths and a Spar grocery store 🌊. Free parking available 🚗.

Everything was super: delicious and large choice for breakfast, friendly staff, warm pool on the ground floor, and a slightly cold pool on the roof. Our room was large and comfortable

Very strange behavior of the young man from the reception desk. He checked us in upon arrival at the hotel. After a long journey we were already asleep. At 11 pm we were woken up by a phone call from this young man, who said that he needed our passports. Our question is whether it will wait until the morning. He said he couldn’t wait and came to get our passports, and then came back again to give them to us. Why he couldn't wait until the morning, we don't really understand. This was probably the only trouble.

It's an amazing hotel near natural swimming pools. Since the water in the natural pools was quite cold, it was nice to have a swim and then come back to the hotel spa and enjoy jacuzzi and warm inside pool. The infinity pool on the roof top is small but cute for taking a picture. The personnel is very attentive. We stayed for my birthday and got a bottle of bubbles in the room and a cake with a candle during the breakfast. We enjoyed our stay very much. Beds are comfortable, the view from the balcony is fantastic. It was totally incredible experience.

We loved everything. It's a shame it was only for one night during our trip to Madeira. If I ever come back to Madeira, I will definitely stay here for longer.

We have stayed in the sister hotel a few blocks away called “Aqua Natura Maderia” and tried to book there again, but were not able to, so this hotel “Aqua Natura Lapa Bay” was not our first choice, but now after staying in both we actually prefer this hotel. It is newer, larger rooms, it has a nicer roof top pool, the staff are just as nice and the walk to the paid swimming area is not very long. The included breakfast was pretty good. We had dinner in the hotel, and it was excellent.

The turkish bath in the basement was lame.
