Great pool, good tapas and wine, and staff that goes the extra mile.

The family suite is located up a long hill that’s not safely walkable because cars drive fast on a narrow road. Also has no WiFi. We didn’t know this in advance, but the staff was able to move us to two rooms near the pool and restaurant. Otherwise our family of five would have had to drive down for every meal and swim. It would have been difficult to put everyone on the exact same schedule. Especially hard with preschoolers who wake up at different times, including one who naps every afternoon,

We had an absolutely wonderful week at Herdade Da Corte, using it as a base to explore the eastern part of the Algarve. The hotel offers everything you can expect from an Agriturismo, including a really nice pool and terraces that were available 24/7. The entire staff was very welcoming and always happy to help out with advice on local attractions or restaurants, as well as with umbrellas and other utensils for a perfect day at one of the many beaches.

If you know what you are signing up for - a rural hotel about 10 - 15 minutes from Tavira - you will not be disappointed!

This property is in a quiet, peaceful area. It is off the beaten track but in a stunning location surrounded by olive, carob and orange groves. A great place to experience the Portuguese countryside. Breakfast is simple but has some great options like freshly baked breads, cakes made onsite, fresh fruits and other local specialties. The owners/staff are very friendly and helpful. It is a rustic but comfortable environment. Definitely plan to return.

The family rooms are in a separate annex a short drive away which makes it harder to enjoy the pool and deck areas which are close to the main building. Given the narrow roads in the area it is not so feasible to walk to the main building.

We especially liked the setting and how quiet it was. Sitting on the veranda in the morning and just listening to the quiet was a treat. And, the decor was much more beautiful than we expected. The breakfast spread was delicious, lots of choices, and presented beautifully as well. Staff was friendly and helpful too! The town of Tavira is lovely. Make sure to cross the bridge and get off the beaten path!

No fault of the property but some sun would have been nice. They need the rain though, so that’s a good thing actually.

Breakfast was excellent with a very good range of 'help yourself' cold buffet items and gave a good start to the day.. The pool area and balcony was spotlessly clean and looked very inviting but a cold northerly wind whilst I was there prevented a dip. The room was very comfortable and furnished in the traditional Portuguese style. Francisco, Joao and the staff were very kind and accommodating and did their best to make my stay enjoyable - which it was!

My only caveat was that the bathroom was rather narrow and a little dark.

This is a hotel to scape the crowds, which in August in the Algarve is very welcome. The setting is idylic. The rooms are spacious, clean and well air conditioned. The beds are comfortable. The hotel has a family feeling to it, the pool was very nice and never crowded. There were plenty of families and our daughter made friends with children who were staying there. The breakfast is very good and the petiscos (tapas) options for dinner are well prepared. The staff is very welcoming, accommodating and helpful. The recommendations by the managers (specially Joao) were incredibly on point and never disappointed.

The annex with the family suites is away from the main hotel. It is not too far, but it is a steep and narrow road, not really walkable with young children - specially in August heat. But that does mean it is very quiet up there at night. While the rooms are spacious, they could do with one or comfortable chairs (or a sofa), a new TV and wifi (there is wifi in the main hotel, but not on the family annex, at least when we visited) Bear in mind the hotel is 15 minute drive from anywhere, which I like but may be a consideration for others

Location was great for us, well out in the countryside. A vehicle would be needed unless all the time is to be spent at the location. The rooms were basic but were clean and quite sufficiently equipped for our stay. Breakfast was good and a more than reasonable choice of items to enjoy. The pool and surrounds were attractive and would entertain families for quite some time. João - the host had a lot of time for each guest, explaining all about the hotel, rooms and location and also provided oodles of information about this area of Portugal and was on hand much of the day and evening.

The bed frame in our room and that of our friends kept catching our legs when we each walked around the bedrooms. The frame as substantially bigger than the mattress. A painful learning curve was needed to negotiate this safely!

Staff were superb from conversation to suggested visits & activities. Need a car - punkt! Relaxing by the pool one of the highlights, peaceful, tranquil, cooling off when too hot. We traveled to markets in Loule, Tavira & several more inaccessible beaches. Even a roman villa from 1AD, amazing. Great for exploring the region.

Shower, for big guys watch those elbows!

not the end of the world but our family suite was located a short drive from the main part of the hotel which meant driving up and down with children and us being separated from the rest of our party who were in a double room by the pool. Lots of sharp edges around the room and pool area was not toddler friendly, but fine once children are steady on their feet

Excellent facilities, breakfast, tapas, pool and customer service. Our family suite was surprisingly bigger than expected. The view of the area surrounding the property was beautiful. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the terrace and taking in the view and sounds. We really enjoyed our stay.

Beds were a bit hard to sleep on but we still enjoyed our stay. You can only get wifi in the main building but that didn't impact us at all as we had plenty of data on our mobile phones. You do have to have a car to get to the main building from the family suite for breakfast or to use the pool. Otherwise it's a long walk back and forth.
