Location: right off Orchard Road, near the MRT and especially the bus stops at Far Eastern Plaza, the location makes it the ideal base for a Singapore visit. Also, Newton food court is walking distance Style and service: Goodwood is understated traditional class. It has all the service level, architecture and interior design of a top notch hotel but offers this in a balanced, friendly, normal style which makes this an experience that feel like authentic and traditional luxury. The service is provided behind the scenes and expressed by things like the main architecture, the reception doormen who offer a bottle of water when you walk in from the hot city, the friendly staff around the hotel, the layout of the lobby and high tea location, the classic cental pool design / chairs, the many beautiful plants and trees, … the list goes on! High tea: the best high tea in town. The savoury and sweet offerings are tasty, varied and original, plus more than enough. The presentation of these cakes, snacks and fruits is beautiful and the selection of about 10 special teas is excellent.

The staff were very good and tried to be as helpful as they could be. Our room was sizeable and opened out to the pool area which was nice. We also liked (and the reason we booked), the old world colonial charm of the hotel. It is a marked contrast with all the high rise hotel towers that Singapore is absolute full of and that we have used before.

The old world charm takes a lot of maintenance and the grand entrance was covered while we were there as renovations took place next to it. Also, as I mentioned the room was sizeable and to be honest had everything we could need and a bit more but it was looking a bit old and the paintwork on the outside of our room to the pool was in need of renewing. Again, it’s hard to criticise too much because this hotel does work at using its style to differentiate it from the modern tower block hotels but it costs money to maintain that look.

A reasonable (but not excellent) selection for a buffet breakfast.

S$30 seemed high for what there was - certainly a lot of hot food but only 2 juices, 4 cereals, limited fresh fruit and spreads. Coffee was bad whether self-made from machine or ordered from kitchen. One of our party wanted a soy coffee and first got a cow's milk coffee and then got something unlike any soy coffee he had had before. Reception assured me I could order a la carte, so the second day I tried that. Mr front of house had trouble finding the menu at first. But it was even more expensive. Coffee was about S$11 (incl. taxes), omelette was S$25 plus tax.

I requested a room on the ground floor so I didn't have to take the elevator and LOVED the room they chose for me - so grateful there were so many rooms on the ground floor first, and the beautiful room I had. Big comfortable bed, wonderful bathtub!!!, spacious comfortable room complete with a little outdoor seating area - I just loved it.

I have to admit I found it quite expensive. Even though I booked through booking.com and thought I was getting a cheaper rate, it was still over $300 for one night, and I found that very expensive. Also, the coffee lounge ceasar salad was terrible. :( I was disappointed in the prawn they put on the salad - not even cooked! - and the quality of the lettuce (it was wilty, not fresh).

Check in and welcome were good - Rifqi and Fifi were very informative. The room was extremely comfortable and it was good to have a balcony. The location is good for nearby shops and restaurants. There are bus and metro services nearby too. The pool and gardens were excellent too. We chose to have breakfast out but had dinner in the Gordon Grill one evening. The meal was superb and we were glad we treated ourselves! We stayed at this hotel as my parents had stayed here in 1981 and loved it. It was great to compare my photos to theirs. On mentioning this when we checked out I was given a beautiful hardback book celebrating the history of the hotel. A perfect stay.

We were pleased with everything during our stay.

The staff was perfect, they have been very supportive. We had two requests during our stay : to change the room and to have a late check out, and both have been fulfilled. Room was cleaned on daily basis with attention to the details. The location also happened to be great it is 5min walking from Orchard road, bus station nearby, metro not that far too. SgD 15 to almost every point in Singapore and SgD30 to the airport.

I booked  Parklane Split Level Studio , which happened to be not part of the hotel , it is a separate building the access to which was dirty. The studio itself was great but some years ago, now was smelly due to mold. But once again the staff reacted very fast and move as in the hotel area in a smaller but way better room.

Goodwood Park is an institution and is proud of what it is.It is definitely not a chain hotel and it is not run by an accountant.Staying here is a privilege which never disappoints.Our ground floor room opened up to the pool area, was spacious, quiet and unchanged by fashion.It is timeless.

Eating options were limited as there were special New Year functions on.

Loved the quiet location and the quaintness of the “old world” charm it has. Lovely restaurants with great food at each. All amenities were superb. Very surprised by the lovely time we had here - will definitely come again. Great service all round with staff very obliging and helpful - nothing was too much trouble.

Construction work behind hotel was noisy in early morning on our wing but a little thing that did not worry us too much - noise won’t last forever.

We ever stayed at Goodwood Park Hotel 25 years ago with my family. We visited the hotel again with our grand children for their first time to visit Singapore. It was an unforgettable experience and the stay was enjoyable as imagined. The location was convenient and the atmosphere of the hotel was very comfortable supported by the warm attitude of the staffs.

Nothing much. Maybe they should allocate a toilet and a shower near the pool area. (We had to go inside the lobby to cross the crowd to go to the toilet)

Lovely hotel in a good location - breakfast buffet was really good with an extensive selection. The hotel is in a handy location for the MRT being between Orchard and Newton and about a 15 mins to 20 mins walk away.

We had a duplex room in a separate building from the hotel which was not in the best of locations. The general condition of the hotel is a little tired and in need of refurbishment.
