My rooms were large and well appointed . The beds were comfortable and the shower in my second room was excellent. The air conditioning was efficient without being invasive. the coffee machine in my rooms was a godsend. The breakfast was excellent and the service in the restaurant was friendly and efficient. The lobby bar was comfortable and played a pleasant soundtrack ( which is becoming very rare). The two hour happy hour made a couple of glasses of good wine affordable. Throughout my stay the staff were universally excellent and helpful. The location could hardly be better, with easy access to the metro , shopping, restaurants and sight seeing.

My room overlooking the river enjoy spectacular views but was ruined by the deafening music coming from Clarke Quay. Even the double glazing can't block it out and it grows louder as the hour grows later. Happily , I was eventually moved to a room on the city side which was much quieter. I understand that the hotel cannot control the behaviour of it neighbours but be warned. Some showers are in bathtubs, which is far from ideal. Older guests and, I imagine, shorter guests fined climbing in and out of a tall bathtub uncomfortable and a bit scary. At the price asked by this hotel room service should be 24 hour. I booked an expensive hotel because, arriving at midnight after a long flight, I knew I would need to eat. Unfortunately room service ends here at 10:30.

Check in the counter was ridiculously slow. There are counters for express checkin but nobody uses because you need the staff to have your key working. 2 people at the reception desk for such a big hotel is hilarious! Among all, Singapore is extremely expensive and expect to pay more than in other southeast Asian countries. With that said, we decided to pay a bit more but at least stay in a 5 stars. Nowadays many 5* equals to a 3* but this was not the case, fortunately. It was worth the extra money we budgeted. I love pillow menus and they have a nice one.

Room dimension and cleanliness were in line with our expectations. Also all facilities (especially the swimming pool and the annexed dressing room) were perfect and at our disposal even after the check-out (as we had the flight back to Europe late at night).

The Executive Lounge located on 11th floor, where we have been upgraded for breakfast, was were nice but due to the number of clients who had access to the Lounge, we had to wait more than a quarter of an hour to be seated. Furthermore the breakfast buffet wasn't so rich and diversified. Also for the personalised menu items (omelette) we had to wait further 20 minutes.

The Paradox Hotel is very conveniently located to public transport routes. ( Bus, train and Hop-on Hop-Off bus) Concerns about noisy airconditioning in the room and noise coming from a machine outside the room window were dealt with in a prompt and apologetic manner. We were offered an alternative room which we accepted and which solved the noise problem. The size of the room ( we had a twin share room) allowed for plenty of space between the beds and for our four suitcases to be left opened. There was still space enough to move comfortably around the room. The breakfast buffet provided ample choice and was delicious.

I thought the evening buffet dining was expensive. We only ate in the dining room for sheer convenience only the once as we arrived late in the afternoon and had yet to explore the area around the hotel.

The breakfast had sufficient choices of local and western dishes. The swimming pool is good and very suitable for children. MRT (Tube) is right in the basement. Shopping nearby. Excellent connectivity by bus too.

On the breakfast buffet there were no indications if the dishes contain pork, beef, nuts or are vegetarian. Pork sausages and chicken sausages were on the same serving plate and shared the same utensils. We saw many Muslims and people from the middle east who would be more comfortable if the dishes are labeled appropriately.

The personnel was very thoughtful, they made a great surprise; my father found a cute little cake in his room on his birthday! The rooms were very spacious. The location is very close to the main attraction points of the city. There's a shopping mall as well as grocers and the like right next to the hotel. Hotel is by the riverside where there are many restaurants, cafes and bars that you can find a meal, snack or drink whenever you like.

Hotel guests were very loud while walking in the hallways, we woke up to their shouting and laughing every night.

We asked the Housekeeping to come to make up our room in the morning. We went out around 08:30 am and came back to the hotel around 15:00 pm. Nobody came to clean up our room.

Very friendly staff, clean, and a brilliant location. The MRT is 5 mins from the hotel to the platforms. And right on the Singapore river. A must is a "Bum Boat" tour out to the bay. In my opinion, night time is the best time to do this.

I had to take my breakfast back one morning, as the hash browns were cold. They took the whole plate and totally replaced all on the plate, with fresh, hot food. Brilliant!

the location is great, the facilities were perfect. I loved we were able to do our own washing especially travelling with a young child. within walking distance to some really cool places

the staff member working by the pool thinking it was okay telling us what to do with our own child who was coughing a little bit. not his place to comment at all

The location was terrific - a 15 minute walk to Chinatown and in the opposite direction to Raffles City. Taxis were a great way to get around and the hotel staff happily booked for us - max 6 minute wait which was terrific. The breakfast had exceptional options and was priced accordingly for those with a hearty appetite. Great to be so close to the riverwalk to access other sites and things to see in Singapore.

It would have been good to have an option for people who didn't eat much as the cost was very high for those having just a continental type breakfast, or those with a smaller appetite. About $44 AUD equivalent is expensive for a buffet breakfast. We stayed for 2 nights and the room was not serviced in this time. Notes were left under the door explaining that this would be the case however the towels could have been replaced and rubbish removed from the room at least.
