Location: the BEST, incomparable, close to Dhoby Ghaut MRT (Red line) & Bencoolen MRT (Blue line) that get one everywhere. Bus stop right in front of the YMCA. Next to the National Museum of Singapore, Fort Canning Park (Tiong Bahru Bakery for breakfast & coffee is divine), right at the start of Orchard Rd where one can shop till you drop, one MRT stop to Newton Food Centre, one easy stroll down Bencoolen St or Princep (then Selegie) Street to Little India. Room: clean, comfortable, good to have a shower & have sleep. In the end, who travels to Singapore to stay in a hotel room all day? Rooms are serviced twice a week, and you can ask for clean towels and extra toilet rolls and the speedy room service will deliver to you. Many untidy people treat hotel rooms like pig styes, don't do that and you wouldn't need daily service. Breakfast: didn't try as there are so many more options outside. Why would one pay to stay anywhere else? If you have too much money and ego and are willing to pay for Hilton and the like, go for it it is your freedom. If you are poor and only want to stay in one of the Cube capsule cubicles, no one stops you. But for pure comfort at such an affordable price & value for money, YMCA is the best. Plus, at YMCA, God protect and look after you, as well as the friendly and helpful staff. WILL STAY AT YMCA forever & whenever travelling to Singapore.

Great gym (old fashioned but works fine) and good pool. Shame the gym was only open till 6pm then you had to pay a fee to use…. Good location close to 2 MRT stations, one of which includes 3 lines (so it’s easy to get anywhere). Close to the shops. Old hotel but really very good. I’d recommend if staying for just a few days and you want a simple pool and gym for exercise (but not for glamour)

Didn’t like the fee for the gym after 6pm (S$15 each after 6pm is simply excessive. For the price the rooms should be cleaned more frequently, though reception did happily provide clean towels on request :)

Located very close to Dhoby Ghaut interchange the Hotel is very well situated. The room was basic but functional. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. We had no issues with noise although you must remember this is a community active YMCA so lots going on. Very friendly staff.

No bars of soap just a single soap dispenser in the shower. It was almost impossible to achieve the correct water temperature with the shower. The shower was not user friendly and dont forget the switch on the immersion heater if you want hot water for your shower.

Affordable place to stay when in expensive Singapore. Rooftop pool was a gem, perfect for a swim in the scorching hot weather. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and location of the hotel was perfect for exploring Singapore, very close by 3 metro stations.

Room smelled quite bad compared to corridor, smell of damp. I think might be due to lack of ventilation since windows are locked shut and can't be opened. Also air conditioning installation looks very old so this might be another reason for the funny smell. Furniture looks tired but can't compare given the price and the location. Cheap breakfast included but also quite scarce, so if you are expecting a buffet breakfast, better to skip it and look outside.

Exceptional location, spacious room with all amenities, extremely friendly and helpful staff

Breakfast was poor, very much so. However the hotel offers the opportunity for residents to make coffee and toast at a table/desk near to the reception area and at a very low price. This comes very convenient to those who do not wish to book breakfast and have no time to go for breakfast elsewhere. Also I did not know that the room would not be cleaned daily. They clean the room only after 7days. I was OK with this, but for those who would want it cleaned more often, they need to be prepared to pay something extra.

It was a really nice stay and we recommend to everyone. Good cleaning, and perfect location. Train stations and places to have dinner/lunch are really near to the YMCA. One laddy from the housekeeping was really nice and was always smiling. We really appreciate her kindness. It's a shame we don't know her name.

The front desk could be much better. Being a front desk manager, I noticed that all front desk, except one sir that was older, was not so friendly. Could have a better welcome reception to the guest like asking if the guest had a pleasant travel and if the guest need some help and, for example, some tips about what they can do during their visit to Singapore. One other thing that was not nicer was when we ask to a housekeeper guy if he could give us two more towels and him just said that he don't have more towels (he had towels in their trolley).

location was amazing - its central to everything, its like the best place ever. my view was superb - i could see the marina bay sands view. my room was okay and there is a restaurant on site for when you are lazy to cross the road to the food center at bencoolen street, and multiple restaurants around, the reception has snacks everywhere, including vending machines inside and outside the reception for your convenience. The reception team was the best, the kept my bags and later i came back and showeredand went to the airport around 9pm. I tell you, this place is amazing. what's there not to like???

The location is fabulous - right next to Dhouby Ghant MRT and super close to the major shopping complex at the top of Orchard Road. Singapore National Museum is right next door as is Fort Canning Park. My room - its basic but has everything you need - 2 single beds, big shower in bathroom, airconditioning that was super efficient and even an Australian/American channel on the TV (though i did watch a Bollywood movie on one of the other channels which I loved). Meals - had both breakfast and evening meals on site at The Social Kitchen - great selection and seriously delicious! All staff - reception, kitchen, housekeeping - were super helpful and lovely to be around - well done team! This was my second stay and I hope to come back again some time.

I like how close it is to Marina Bay, just a couple of stops by bus. The location is very convenient as it’s very close to where I wanted to go in the city. The bus stops directly at entrance of the hotel, and the train station is just 2 minutes away by foot. The location is very easy to navigate and is close to major tourist attractions like Fort Canning, Orchard Road, etc. The room was decent, with a lot of lighting options and comfortable bed. It was clean when I got there and it has a view. The staff were superb. They were really friendly and accomodating. When I asked if I could keep the hotel card holder, the receptionist was too kind to replace it with a new one and gave me a their archived hotel card to keep as a souvenir.

No more beautiful breakfast buffet! The procedure to get into the pool is complicated. You need to go down into the reception level one to swap your key for a swimming pool key. Bring your towel then go up to level 9. Use the pool and then go down to level 1 again get your key back and then go back to your room. Not user friendly. I rather pay extra for a towel and a key and can go whenever I want.
