Loved the location, right in the centre of the historic town. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a great size, the bathroom was huge. The bed was reasonably comfortable. Loved the decor. The breakfast area was superb. The breakfast was adequate but not a lot of variety unfortunately but still nice. Parking for the car was close enough to the hotel and we were able to unload luggage outside before moving it. I would highly recommend this accommodation and if I'm lucky enough to visit again I would stay here.
Perhaps a jug in the room to make a cuppa in the morning would have been nice but everything else was covered.

It is amazing to stay in a Hotel that was built in 1278 that still preserves so much of its original architecture. Of course most of the rooms were renovated but with attention on the "old style" of the building. I liked very much the bathroom, with a shower and a tub (although I never use it since I am so concerned about the waste of water, he he). We stayed in one of the largest rooms. Decoration is unique. Breakfast is very good and the price is honest. Staff is very courteous and helpful.
Nothing that I can think of

Loved everything. The breakfast was wonderful, the staff are exceptional - professional, friendly and so helpful, the room was absolutely stunning, with an outstanding outlook over beautiful street scenes, the bed was so comfortable, the room big, the bathroom was immaculately clean, and there was just so much to love. I would come back to this hotel in a second. The location was fantastic, but it was the hotel and it's staff that were so good. If you are looking for character, charm, and downright gobsmackingly amazing rooms,....(in that this building is around 700 years old, and you are staying in medieval rooms) then this is for you. I could not fault it. I've never been so impressed, not even with super modern 5* hotels. Thankyou so much. (I* only wish I could have stayed longer, and if I ever come back to Rothenburg, I will not need to research accomodation.)
nothing.

awesome location in the centre of the Rothenburg Alstadt built around 1430 and the rooms were well appointed and we had a glass floor with a selection of local antiquities to view, large timber beams, HUGE bath for 2 and the original old small door ways and charm of the entire building was awesome. would 100% go back and stay. staff were extremly engaging english speaking and assisting with restaurants and activities and parking. well worth the stay.

Atmospheric room in 650 year old building. Comfortable bed, quiet, slept well. Great location one block from central plaza. Friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast for a small hotel.
Small room, OK for one night, limited space for luggage. Tub/shower large, but lacked enclosure for shower (no curtain or door). Book larger room if possible with shower and sitting area.

What a wonderful stay in the beautiful Rothenburg - hotel lives up to its name and transports you back, perfect for Rothenburg. Hotel is located just off the main road, with parking nearby to load/unload which I would recommend. It's a little far to walk over the cobblestones if you have heavy luggage. Parking bay is easy to get to from there. Staff were great, they offer a decent breakfast which is charged additionally. Would stay again.

Great location, good size room. Extra large bathroom. Quiet at night. Very charming vibe. Refrigerator in room and we had a bathtub which is rare in Europe unless you ask. They brought me a tea kettle for the length of my stay
No AC but it was comfortable inside the room in the middle of July. And I tend to get hot. It was in the 80’s during the day. The breakfast was just ok. They will make you fresh eggs but it’s just standard European breakfast with bread, cereal, cheese, cold cuts. I went to the bakery down the street instead with the most amazing croissants in Germany. Parking is a challenge but it’s the same for all the hotels in the village walls so don’t be deterred.

It was very central located, very important for me. Moreover, the traditional style of the double room and the jacuzzi were exceptional.
Poor WiFi coverage. This needs to be fixed since Wifi is quite important. Moreover the TV position (on the left side of the bed) was not practical. Impossible to watch TV while laying on the bed

The Hotel is great. Built on 1248, it has a lot of charm and retains much of its original character. Breakfast was fabulous and staff went out of their way to help
The beds were very hard and no aircon. It was a shame that they don’t stay open after lunch to serve drinks and snacks as I would have preferred to stay at the Hotel rather than the very hot centre of town which is only 200 metres away.

Our room was so charming and comfortable! Our host, Axel, was very accommodating and helpful. we had such a relaxing stay there - wish we could have stayed longer to explore more of this beautiful and scenic area of Germany!
Parking in front of the hotel is limited and we had to park in one of the lots outside the old city walls. But we were able to drive in and do a luggage drop off at the hotel upon arrival and then drive in and do a pickup when we checked out, so it all worked out.
