The setting, near the clubhouse of the golf club, surrounded by the greens and a pretty pond, was lovely. It was a very peaceful location with great views of beautiful countryside as you arrive and leave. The beds were comfortable (only twin beds available, no doubles.) We had all the facilities you’d need for a short stay.

It was very hot in the room. We tried to turn the radiators off but it was still hot. As it was a ground floor room we didn’t want to leave a window open overnight. We were awoken by an earsplitting alarm at 4.15am on the first night, but we think that must have been other guests so probably wasn’t the fault of the golf club.

We love the location of the hotel right inside the golf area too which had only 8 twin rooms.

Beautiful location it is a prestigious golf club first and foremost The views a green and rolling hills the Manor House is a listed building. The accommodation is modern in an annexe which seems very new. Good en-suite room which was good value for room only. Will look forward to sitting on the terrace admiring the views again later this year. The staff were lovely, thank you to Ebony for being helpful and engaging.

Side plates for the biscuits would be useful

The breakfast was in a lovely dining room, friendly staff and excellent views. Good food. The accommodation was excellent and the bonus was having patio doors to the most amazing view of the course with a table and chairs. Well thought out decor and very clean. Loved the attention to detail with coffee/tea/biscuits.

We were told that we could possibly order pizza later in the evening if there was any left after a special event, not very good for planning, but I did get the impression that this was most unusual. Nothing else available in the bar and we couldn't order a takeaway even though no food was available. Leaving the hoovering of the bar until guests had finished breakfasting and not overcooking the bacon.

Regular visitor. Location perfect for us. Lovely environment and excellent rooms. High standards of cleanliness.

Dropped attention to detail a little this visit. Broken lightbulb in room, very hard pillows and no choice, ran out of toilet paper and no spare, no ‘normal’ tea bags. Juices not replenished during breakfast service so went without.

Absolutely beautiful setting, Easy to find. Modern decor with modern furniture. Bathroom with walk in shower was amazing. Best nights sleep I’ve ever had in a hotel the bed was so comfortable.

Bathroom radiator was on full blast and is right next to the toilet so did cause me to “burn” myself a few times as a female with no choice but to sit down. This was the ONLY negative thing about the whole stay though.

The bedroom had windows either end which gave lovely views over the golf course and Woodsome Hall. Very clean with comfortable beds. The shower room although small was more than adequate. Shampoo, shower gel and hand wash was provided. Nice touch was free tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits The cooked breakfast was very good, as was the evening meal Staff were very helpful and friendly Very quiet and peaceful place to stay

Very disappointing buffet breakfast. No freshly baked breads Danish pastries, or fruit bowl which was on the menu. On our first morning I asked for fruit compote , the waitress did find some, about 3 teaspoons! However, the next morning there was a bowl of compote, but no fresh bread, I was offered sliced bread. Not quite the same! No pastries or fruit bowl. It was stated that there was a full housekeeping service daily. We did not have any. We did not feel we needed clean towels after one use so left them on the radiator as requested. As we could not get the radiator turned on the towels were still damp the following morning

This place was amazing. Quiet clean comfortable and the surroundings just beautiful. The Golf course surrounded the entire place which made it look green and relaxing. The staff were all so polite and helpful.The highlight of our stay was the delicious breakfast. The dining room and service was very good. Loved this place and definitely returning again. Thank you all at Woodsome.

We are already familiar with Woodsome Hall as we used to live in the area. This was our first time at Dormy House to stay to visit friends and family locally. It did not disappoint. It’s a beautiful setting, very cosy and home like. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We also loved the breakfasts, all cooked to perfection. The staff are all great and we will definitely be staying here again for future visits to HD8. Thank you!

Lovely location. Someone phoned me the day before to make sure I arrived to get my key and give me any other helpful details. Staff very friendly, lovely quiet location, access to a fridge, and small sitting room, ordered a take away breakfast and how coffee in the morning as I needed to get on the road. I would recommend this stay and will return if in the area.
