Good value for money- basic but comfortable- nice towels - well stocked tea tray - comfy bed - good shower - and breakfast in morning ok - also WIFI an extension lead for kindle etc - but needed 3 pin plug - must mention the beautiful gardens and woodland - beautiful surroundings - friendly staff

Third level floor as no lifts but was helped up with my suitcase which was kind - room had no lampshade on main light - the breakfast was okay, liked the fridge for milks and perishables - but can’t complain as a good rate .

Nice room in historic building. Clean and warm. It suited us to be able to have breakfast when we wanted and walk around the beautiful grounds in the morning. The breakfast was on a 'help yourself' basis and consisted of cereal, bread which you could toast, eggs and an egg boiler, which we didn't try and yoghurts, fruits were also available.

The breakfast supplies were not replenished for our second morning and although there was plenty of cereal and eggs, there were only two pieces of bread and one portion of marmalade left.

The location was excellent, with bus stops (for buses 202 and 203 outside the main gate - just 30 seconds away from the accommodation) and you can easily travel to Huddersfield, Dewsbury and Leeds by bus. The service runs about every 10 minutes, so it could not be easier. There are some 20 aches of gardens to explore on the site. This consists areas of lawn, a meadow and woodland. The monks graveyard is quite something to see. I stayed in the B&B guest house. This is separate from the main retreat house. The breakfast supplied (help yourself) is not extensive as you would find in a posh hotel but it is very good and tasty. The bread supplied (not the normal bland white or brown bread) makes for awesome toast. The best I have ever had anywhere. I used to look forward to the breakfast each day and especially the toast. Mirfield and the surrounding area has some wonderful walking country. All in all, it was a good stay and I hope to be able to book again for later in the year quite soon. I expect to return on a very regular basis.

This was our first stay at Mirfield monastery. Our first visit was to a friends wedding, therefore when we were asked to join the for the Christmas Dinner & Dance, we were thrilled. It’s friendly and welcoming staff, clean rooms and next door to the monastery venue! Bonus.

Nothing springs to mind. It’s great value for money and all the basics were provided and more. Which is usually lacking in other accomodation we have strayed at.

I was on an adventure - to cycle, solo, across the width of Britain. This was one of the 12 accommodations that I stayed in along the journey. The lady host was very friendly and approachable from the moment I arrived to the moment that I left. The place was only open because I was there so I had the place to myself! The lady host, arrived the next morning and made my full English breakfast for me. We had a lovely chat that morning about my adventure and she wished me well on my journey. Would definitely highly recommend this place for food and overnight accommodation.

The single room was a good size, as was the en suite bathroom. The maintenance person fixed a broken blind immediately. All staff personnel were kind. The grounds are lovely to walk around, with some nice views. The bus stop for Huddersfield is literally right outside the Community buildings.

The Community site is large and I had no idea where to check in. A member of staff spotted me walking around and took me to the right place. If the Community could provide a map or written instructions for first time visitors, that would be great.

The location was perfect for our visit. The rooms are clean and comfortable with tea, coffee etc and a nice shower room. Our room overlooked the garden tended by the monks. We were met on arrival and everything was clearly explained about how to access the property when we returned later. There was a booklet in the room about the monastery and how the monks live and go about their day. I'd recommend a walk around the beautiful grounds. It's a very tranquil setting. We didn't have breakfast, but there was a lot of choice, all self service. There is parking on site.

The location was perfect for what we needed. Check in was easy and great value for money. Breakfast was basic and we wasn’t sure how to refill the coffee or how to use the egg boiler. If something ran out there wasn’t anyone around to restock but there was enough food and instance coffee available.

It was basic but for a couple of nights that is all you need.

We have stayed here a few times now when we come and see family. The rooms are nice and cosy. Breakfast is self service and all laid out. You have a choice of toast, eggs, cereal, yoghurts, fruit, assortment of condiments. Tea, coffee, juices. There is also tea and coffee in your room with nibbles.

We couldn't fault anything inside, the only suggestion we would have is on the outside. If you arrive at night it is quite dark. I would suggest some reflective markings on the lower walls of the building near the retreat as you drive forward to park up as there is another small wall which can be missed when reversing, also the small wall down the side of that same building. This would really help.

I didn't sample the breakfast as I was always busy first thing... However it looked perfectly adequate as I'm not a "Full English" breakfast person! The parking was excellent. The grounds looked great, unfortunately I didn't have time to explore them. The whole place is very peaceful....
