We loved our 3 night stay at the French Quarter Inn. We go every year, and we all decided to stay somewhere more exclusive and close to everything in Charleston. We walked everywhere, except when we walked the Ravenal bridge. Getting our vehicle was simple and quick. The staff were impeccable! Every single one of them. The welcome champagne was wonderful and very tasty. The complimentary wine and charcuterie was unbelievable! Wow! Cheeses, olives, crackers, bread, and more! We actually didn't need to go out to dinner. And the cookies and milk to top the day off! Besides their breakfast that we had delivered to the room each morning. It was our best experience in Charleston EVER!!! Thank you French Quarter Inn! I will be back.

Everything was immaculate. The food, the staff, the room. The bedding was irresistibly comfortable. Located within blocks to everything we could possibly do in 4 days. We stayed for Christmas celebration, they had live Carolers preform in the lobby, and the space was so beautifully decorated. The deep rich wood interior and marbled spiraling staircase with a 20 ft Christmas tree pertruding through the middle straight up, set the vibe! It felt so comfortable. A huge continental breakfast, wine and cheese every night, Port wine and warm cookies with milk, before bed, with a huge array of snacks. We didn't spend a fortune on restaurants they kept us well fed. The housekeeping was stellar! Jelly beans, and sweets at the desk all day. Locally designed, custom scented pillow spray, locally made natural soaps and lotions, and pillow chocolates...I could go on for days. This lovely place didn't miss any details
The somewhat hidden cost of valet, a little over priced

I would say that this is THE best hotel that we have ever stayed! Everything exceeded our expectations. The staff was super friendly. The hotel and our room were spotless. We enjoyed that they offered breakfast (which you may get delivered to your room, and would HIGHLY recommend doing at least once), the snacks in the afternoon (which they offer a variety of wines, cocktails, a selection of cheese, salamis and a bit more) and later on in the evening they also serve warm freshly baked cookies with coffee, tea, hot chocolate (and these are all included with your stay!). They did clean our rooms every day (they also do a turndown service and they would provide water, chocolates and weather predictions for the next day). We felt so at home and when we do go back to Charleston, we will only stay here. I would HIGHLY recommend going to this little gem and we are so glad we did. You will not regret it!
Can't complain about anything, our stay exceeded our expectations.

We visited Charleston for the first time as a family of four with our two teenage boys age 13 and 16. From the moment we arrived the service was exceptional. Special thanks to the valet who ran upstairs to find out if our room was ready early (it was) and had our car parked and bags in our room before we even got there! We especially loved the complimentary milk and cookies each night (8:30-9:30 pm) and Detox Water and lemonade any time we needed it after hours of walking and sightseeing. This was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in largely because of the friendly staff including the cleaning staff. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

The location of the hotel was excellent. Walking distance to tons of restaurants and shops. The amenities at the French Quarter Inn are superb! Complimentary champagne upon check in. Complimentary gourmet breakfast every morning. Complimentary wine and hors d'oeurvres every afternoon. Complimentary milk, warm cookies, and port wine every evening. Complimentary valet service. The fitness room was far above the standard hotels. The staff was amazing. Every person working there was polite and helpful. I forgot my sunblock and was headed out to take a boat tour and the front desk staff had some handy free of charge. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful! This is the only place I will ever stay when visiting Charleston!
There is nothing that could have been better. This hotel exceeded all of our expectations. I don't think that you could find a better place to stay!

The best hotel we stayed at in the USA and at an affordable price. Large room. Wonderful breakfast, which is a rarity in the USA. Many little touches that will lift your spirits. Welcome champagne, in-room treats, happy children with unlimited M&M’s, free bicycles. Very pleasant lobby and courtyard where you want to spend time. Excellent attentive staff. Conveniently located near the market and most restaurants. Reminds us of European hotels where great attention is paid to details, conveying the style and spirit of a historic city. We hope to return to Charleston and the French Quarter again.
It’s a rare case that I liked absolutely everything

Breakfast was buffet style and there was a little of something for everyone (meat eaters, vegetarians, pescatarians). Extremely decent and very fresh. Equally good happy hour with wine and hors d'oeuvres. For us, there was enough that we didn't actually need dinner out as we snacked on salami, olives, cheeses and bread. EXCELLENT staff. Supremely friendly, engaged, charming and all very helpful. Location was perfect for us - as it was close to the market area and therefore in walking distance to many restaurants. We did not need our car during our stay at all but we were not overly adventurous - opting for an A/C bus tour to see the main points of interest.
The only thing we all found irritating, and this is so petty - was the inability to find a TV guide to see what was on, instead of channel surfing. Could have been operator error as we are all over 60!!

The breakfast is a huge disappointment. We’ve stayed at less expensive hotels that had incredible breakfasts. Expected more from this hotel at this price point. Hard to believe at $700 per night you pay for parking. Very disappointed in the Charleston experience this trip. We used to come there once a year. This was first trip since Covid. Food was twice as expensive everywhere. Hotel rates are through the roof and the Market was a letdown. Mostly expensive junk being sold. Also had to deal with teenagers approaching to ask for money for roses. Even saw them arguing with people. Why is that allowed? All that being said, other than crazy higher prices and the so-called breakfast, The French Quarter is still a great place and super comfortable bedding. Great location and the staff was very accommodating, especially our valet, Jay.

The rooms are spacious and luxuriously equipped with a machine sanitizer for your iPhone, phone charger and great linens. Even a working fireplace which you rarely need in Charleston but still.
The breakfast wasn’t all that. I would’ve preferred to go out except it was easy. The pastries were stale and the eggs were overcooked and had sat around too long. Kind of expect that at a Hampton inn but not here. The breakfast patio was beautiful though and the coffee very good. The Marriott we stayed in last week offered almond and oat milk whereas here we were just offered half and half and 2% milk.

We were there for the snow storm of 2025. It could have been a terrible experience but it was lovely. The staff were friendly and the breakfast and happy hour were great, and we loved the cookies and milk at bedtime. Even though all the shops and almost all the restaurants were closed because of the snow, the location was perfect for exploring Charleston on foot. And there was a fire in the fireplace and comfortable couches for reading. Great stay.
