The hotel has very friendly & helpful staff in all departments, the concierge was very knowledgeable of Charleston. The lobby had a gorgeous chandelier & each of the wings were decorated so nicely with gorgeous topiary & colors of blue. The rooms were very clean with great cleaning & room service. There were so many places to sit to enjoy your coffee or a cocktail during the morning, afternoon & night. The gardens were so pretty & comfortable to sit or walk through. Walking distance to King St, so many shops & restaurants! The hotel does provide transportation services ( for a fee) with very friendly & safe drivers to take you to the airport, Shems Creek, the beaches or anywhere you need. There are a number of places to eat on premises, the food was very good at all of them. I would definitely stay at this hotel again!!

The tub was very high, not very easy for a short person to get in & out. The coffee shop was very good with delicious coffee but there was limited food menu & it did not change daily.

The hotel, rooms, and overall staff/facilities were awesome. The staff was super accommodating and every polite. They were helpful with touring as well.

I found the "breakfast included" part a bit foggy, in that you received $120 for a family of 4 for breakfast and had to eat at the cafe in the hotel. With this being said, the prices were so high that we always went over the amount, so we had added costs. The gratuity is also not include. In my opinion, I don't call this a "breakfast included" item, because you pay more based on the prices in the cafe. I was also never informed that it was $30 per person as an allotted amount. This was disappointing.

The location was FABULOUS! But more importantly everything on the property exceeded our expectations...! Every employee went above and beyond with kindness. The many areas to sit and hang out and relax.. the courtyard with the pop up coffee/bar! Lobby bar... the decorations in the lobby... all the flowers!

The only reason I didn't put that our room was quiet... 99% of the time we didn't hear a thing and we slept fabulously! However, we were in room 494, and I think it might be connected to where employees either come and go or get their materials for the day, and this is not a knock on the staff... but it just almost felt like they were in our room. We could hear them just saying hello or going over their checklists for the day (so it could just be through the vents)...!

The bellman went out of his way to arrange for us to have our rooms adjacent when he saw that we were separated. The dour checkin person told me originally that we were on separate floors (despite my original request to be connected) but said she could accommodate us on the same floor. However our rooms were at opposite ends of a very long hallway. The bellman on his own volition went downstairs and arranged for our rooms to be next to each other! We were delighted when he came back to our room with new keys and moved our belongings to accommodate our desire! Well done! It made a huge difference in our stay!

Only one member of the staff was a little cold and not accommodating when we checked in. The other employees nearby were all smiling, but she was just stiff and short with us. Every other member of staff from the bellmen to the house keepers and room service and other front desk attendants were exemplary, friendly and warm.

We felt right at home. We booked a car to a lot of places and each time there was fresh water bottles for us inside. Also, every night they knocked to ask if we needed ice or more water. The abundant free water is a HUGE perk. We also loved the staff who were very friendly and happy to help. the bed was very comfortable and clean and bathroom was very modern and spacious.

The furniture is a bit old, I scraped my foot on the corner of the bed frame from where the wood had been chipped off. The chairs are really elegant looking from a distance but probably need to be replaced due to aging discoloration. The room service was pricey even for room service especially considering there is no coffee bar in the room. A pot of tea for 2 people cost $15 plus $5 delivery plus 22% gratuity and didn’t even come with little accompaniments. All that being said I think the idea is to make their guests feel like they’re in their bedroom at home rather than doing all their living out of a tiny room, and they definitely accomplish that feel here. We felt right at home!

The hotel is beautiful; great decoration, the marble stairs with the flowers arrangement throughout. The gentlemen that registered us in was very nice, he even upgraded us to a suite due to some difficulties we had during our trip. All the staff was very courteous and helpful. The room was extremely clean. We highly recommend it. Location couldn't be better. The restaurants were great as well. Great time in a beautiful city.

The room was beautiful & larger than expected. The bathroom, though beautiful, needs some shelving to accommodate toiletries. The bedding was extremely comfortable! The independent temperature control is always a huge plus! Location was perfect & we enjoyed walking everywhere! The food was amazing! Our cocktails were perfect & the bartender was friendly & gracious! The rooftop gave us beautiful views of Charleston while sipping an amazing Bloody Mary!

We requested early arrival accommodation but the room wasn’t ready til after the normal check in time. But we were given cocktail vouchers & a delicious assortment of cheeses & bottle of wine.

The location was absolutely perfect. The staff was so wonderful! My partner and I never stayed at a 4 star hotel before so this was such a great experience! We also had a couples massage and it was the greatest thing in the world!! The pool and gym were also awesome. The glass ceiling at the pool opened up which was such a cool feature!

Everything was great. All of the features were fancy. Even at the gym, the equipment was all top knotch. I wanted my partner and I to have a special getaway and this hotel exceeded our expectations!

Absolutely everything! Our rooms, our meals, visiting at the Thoroughbred Bar and celebrating family birthdays. We also love the central location to all we want to see and do in Charleston. We also loved the rooftop pool complex. Chris is a terrific bartender, very attentive, knowledgeable, friendly and funny.

Keeping the public ladies room door closed. The hallway is too short to think that the restroom door can remain open (per one of the male hotel maintenance personnel admonished me when I attempted to close the restroom main door.

The location was perfect, short walk to CofC, restaurants and shopping! The staff were friendly and helpful!

Our room was pretty dated for the price and two double beds were not enough space for four people (although advertised to sleep four adults). Our bathroom fan did not work and was never fixed.
