The location in Nakakaruizawa was an easy walk up the road from the station. Once we arrived, we entered a warm and welcoming space with lovely staff. We booked the yagura room; it was so well-designed that there was ample space for 3 adults. The amenities were generous and the easy 5-minute apart walks to the Stone church, Harunire Terrace and Tombo no you (onsen) were a bonus. But if you don't wish to walk, there is a free shuttle every 10 minutes to the Hoshino attractions.

Modern and cute property, great location, 7-11 within walking distance right in front of the hotel. Hotel shuttle within Hoshino is very convenient! Close to the Kogen and Stone Church, onsen is also a hit!

Pillow is not too comfortable, I’m petite but I kept hitting my head on the bunk bed (but we think the design is very cool!). No shuttle from station, so will need to think of transport if you are not driving.

It’s clean and very comfy. The hotel doesn’t look big, but it’s quite spacious. Lots of things to do inside. The kotatsu outside on the terrace and foot sauna was my favorite. Wish i had more time there. The terrace is beautiful, perfect for casually hanging out with friends and family. Though a bit far, the onsen facilty was great. The staff is really friendly.

The location was a bit far from everywhere. I saw there was a bus schedule but never used it because its not very frequent. There was no slipper… There was only 2 breakfast option, and neither i can consume. The overall light around the property is poor. I understand if hoshino resort group wants to create an ambiance(?) (or karuizawa administritive doesn’t see the need to put extra street light?) but walking from the hotel to harunire terrace or onsen after 5pm is quite scary, firstly we can’t see where we are going, cars can’t see us clearly and there is little to no pedestrian crossing.

We loved the room and lobby/common area design. Myself and my two children (12yr and 14yr) loved the fort like sleeping area for the kids above the sofa bed and the storage in the steps. The beds were confortable and the shelving space along the feature wall was great. The board games, the swing and teepee, the fire, the bed like couches, the visual connection with nature, the communal tables. The space encourages connection and community amongst guests. Staff are friendly too. Closeby there was a beautiful bunch of boutique shops (artisan shops), restaurants and outdoor skating rink and nature trails.

Myself (1.7m tall) and my two children (12yr and 14yr - 1.5m & 1.6m tall) loved the fort where we slept but we did find the height of the fort (upstairs and underneath) a little low for me and 14yr old to stand up straight without hitting head.

The room is modern, spacious and highly functional, very practical for a group of friends and family who would like to spend quality time together. Hotel provides free shuttle service to onsen nearby in every 10 minutes.

Somewhat troublesome to get here by public transportation

The location is good, it was quiet. Unlike most hotels, it has a cozy environment, the common area in particular. Harunine Terrace, which is 400 m away, is an added bonus.

First, there is not a single table inside the room, which was too unconventional for me. Second, the sofa downstairs and the twin beds upstairs are actually a bunk bed set up, so when you want to sit on the sofa, you have to lower your head, otherwise bumping your head is almost something that you won't miss out.

Good location for driving. Free parking spaces are available. There is a 7-11 next to the hotel. The self-service laundry is great for staying longer days. Room is clean and comfy in general. Space is good when comparing to most of the hotels in Japan. I can open 2 big suitcases for packing at the same time.

Bed is a bit too soft and the pillow is thin.

Design, Space, staff and atmosphere. The glampling aspect of it is really cool. Bring your own food drinks and enjoy a relaxing time in the lounge. Staff is available for any cutlery you may need, advice to visit the area. Onsen is easy access although in the different part of the resort but no problem. The onsen is beautiful
