Room was spacious, almost felt like a mini apartment. Kitchen isn't equipped with any cooking equipment or cutlery but at least had a microwave. There is a McDonald's and a Delicia supermarket within 5 min walk, which at least solved our dinner problem. The food court at the Prince Outlet Mall was closed by 7:30pm and the restaurants were on the pricy side so having a supermarket nearby was great. If you don't drive, a cab ride from the train station would cost about 700 Yen. Breakfast was good with a variety of good quality Japanese and Western food, including some Karuizawa specialty (dumplings and roasted beef). Beds were comfortable. Even though my children had sofa beds, the sofa beds had been set up and they were as big and comfortable as full size bed. The hotel restaurant had free drinks during tea time and a live band performed during weekend night, which was a nice touch. Staff were helpful with booking cabs and offering to take photos for us. We appreciated the warm hospitality.
Lack of kitchen equipment, could have provided at least the basic cutlery like tea spoons or forks, given that the kitchenette was quite big. However, the hotel did provide us with disposable chopsticks upon request.

For a family of four, we had a big room that could accommodate 4 big beds and yet there was still lots of space - A living room with sofa and TV, and a kitchenette. There was a also a balcony that my boys enjoyed going out to enjoy the wintry weather. The room was clean and provided the usual basic amenities one expects of a good Japanese hotel. The hotel had a public bath in the basement which we didn't use and provided complimentary drinks in the afternoon at its cafe/restaurant (coffee, tea, juices). The building is situated further from where the crowd is (that would be train station/ Prince hotel area) thus quiet surrounding was much appreciated. There is a MacDonalds and a bakery just across the main road as well, just for those moments when one needs something else other than the wonderful Japanese food. Also, there is Lawsons and Family Mart 7 mins walk away (just between station and hotel).
The hotel is situated a bit of distance from the station. It's about 10 to 12 min walk which is not significant to my family. We did drag our luggage to and fro but flat roads along the way and you can see couple of nice houses. Not a complaint or something I didn't like but just a note for those elderly and with little ones.

The staffs are very polite & helpful. The room is very spacious with a kitchen, but limited cooking utensils are provided on request. It's close to a nice big supermarket that we can cook simple breakfast and dinner. It's about 15 mins walk from the train station. Should be nice if shuttle service is provided. We enjoyed a relaxing stay there. They generously provide free welcome drinks daily in the afternoon.
No cleaning product is provided in the kitchen.

The hotel has an airy atmosphere with a great reception hall that looks out over an inner garden, and with large guestrooms. The location is in a tree-lined (and villa-lined) street that leads up to the park and the old Karuizawa centre, which can be walked to or you rent a bike from the hotel. Karuizawa is an odd place to go for Europeans like me, as it tries to give off this German/Swiss feel and that’s not what you expect from going to Japan. But the nature is beautiful (next to the Japanese ‘Alps’), and I assume that skiing could be very good here. The Modern Room I had booked was more like an apartment, with a kichenette, seating space, desk and bar-seating and could easily sleep a family with 2 young children. The public bath was amazing, and it offered wooden outdoor baths, which are not seen often in these kind of places. The hotel is slightly outdated if you compare it to the newest hotels around, but I thought it added to the atmosphere of a bit of ‘grandeur’ - add to that free drinks in the afternoon (delicious smoothies, teas, and wine over the weekend) and very nice staff, and you can definitely expect to have a good time here.

The lounge provides good refreshment when we arrived. The spread was generous and it was a nice place to take a rest upon arrival in the cold autumn. Especially the spinach fruit smoothie, it was simply marvelous! In addition, the room was big and comfortable for two people. It is a bonus when the Delicia Supa is within walking distance. It is a good place for us to re-stock our snacks and drinks. Overall, it was a pleasant experience in Cypress Hotel. Thank you very much for your hospitality!
The decor of the room is a bit dated and old fashion but other than that, everything else fine. Perhaps it would be good to provide shuttle services from Karuizawa station as it was a bit of struggle to handle luggage and the cold weather while walking to and from the hotel.

The hotel has an inner garden beside the dining hall and the reception desk. The room is spacious and clean though the pillows were not comfortable. The hotel has a public onsen, I like it very much. The hotel is very convenient, it’s just a minute walk to McDonald’s and a supermarket. However it is a bit far from the JR station. We took the bus to Harunire Terrace by walking to another bus station which took us 7 minutes only. Overall the stay was very good.
The few steps required to get to the lift lobby with heavy luggages.

The hotel is clean and love the family room that we have booked. Location is about 15mins walk from the JR station . it will better if the hotel can arrange free shuttle to & fro from the JR station.
Enquired about how we can get to Prince Ski resort and was told to take a taxi , checked with the hotel staff what are the available options to get back from the ski resort and was told only via taxi as well. Infact, the ski resort itself provide free shuttle bus to the JR station and we managed to hop on it to the outlet .

The service were so great and the receptionist was super helpful! We really enjoyed our stay here. We dropped our luggage early and they provided the luggage storage. When we checked in, the luggage was already in the room which we super grateful (given that our luggage were quite heavy). The location was about 10mins away walking from Karuizawa station which make this hotel very convenient to get to the Shinkansen station. There is also public bath, laundry available at the hotel.

Fabulous buffet breakfast with traditional Japanese and Western options. The cello and piano player in the evening dining room was very skilled and his selection most soothing. Outside bath (rotenburo) eased away all exhaustion from a day of shopping and playing golf in Karuizawa! Amazing value for money.
