This is situated in the middle of Stone Town but is enclosed with two courtyards and a restaurant. My room was on the third floor. There are plants and coconut palms within the courtyard/ restaurant and a small swimming pool. By the lift is a bookcase with second hand books (I contributed a couple of books). The restaurant was excellent value at dinner and welcoming. My room had a kitchenette. My bed had a mosquito net and I particularly liked the fact that every evening a woman came to sort the mosquito net out, close the windows and spray the room with mosquito killer.
Payment was demanded in cash when I arrived and I was escorted to the nearest ATM which didn't help because I couldn't withdraw the required amount. I was particularly annoyed because I had guaranteed the room with my credit so the money was available. This business with credit cards - it is erratic. One minute cards work and then they don't because of the signal. Television had to be tuned and then I could only get a couple of stations, Africa Today and a channel showing a drama in Arabic. Also at night even if I switched it off, the television light lit up the room.

I likes The design of The hotel; it was so chick and relaxed. Loved the bar and restaurant surroundings. The staff were really nice and helpful especially at resturant. People responsible for arranging attractions were very good. Loved the comfort of the bed and the strong pressure of water at the shower. However there is a strange smell in the bathroom if you don’t put on the fan ventilator all the time. Location was perfect: love it. Spa service was like no one is attracted to. I did not try it but I think they should do more interactive job here to attract people. In total it was a very nice hotel🙏
Smell in bathroom. Giving more towels as we were two and two towels are not enough. The room card was a problem as we were two and we needed two cards, but they don’t have. This was inconvenient.

We loved the location, in Stone Town, close to Bismillah and Lukmaan restaurants, the shoemaker (whom we unexpectadly needed as one shoe broke... he became part of our daily greeting routine, with lovely conversations at his footstep), the Cultural Arts Centre. Close to the ice cream shop, the supermarket and the money exchange that we visited daily. We were really sorted. The rooms were lovely, not huge but the balcony, the kitchennette, the fridge... it all made up. They were comfortable, clean, and really adequate to our needs. We came to visit the place, not to stay in our rooms. But even when we stayed in the rooms, it never felt claustrophobic. It was really comfy. Breakfast was good... the crepes and ongoing eggs station was a highlight, the masala tea, and fruit. The hot breakfast was a bit repetitive and boring, but still tasty. And the breakfast space is lovely. We could sit in that space for a long time... surrounded by trees, the resident cats and the most gentle staff team. The pool is great, too! And we loved the small details the hotel offered, like the departing sachet of spices, or the evening cookies that were left in the room when the team came to spray the rooms and set the mosquito nets. We really felt looked after. Most definitely a place we would return to and that we will recommend.
Everything was good. A word of caution, which I can imagine is not exclusive to this hotel, and it is probably not even linked to the hotel, but... as you enter in the patio Sim cards with data are offfered. We got our sims elsewhere and we found out that the prices were almost half of what we would otherwise have paid...

The staff is super friendly and very helpful, especially the cooks and the waiters/waitresses working with Charles at the restaurant, and Nelson from reception who will quickly solve any small problem you may have. It feels like a family run hotel and a well-managed place, workers are cleaning the outside area all the time for example. As for the hotel itself, very nice room and bathroom, perfectly cleaned daily by the house keeping staff, comfortable bed, amazing breakfast with lot of homemade food, small but nice swimming pool, very pleasant outside restaurant serving quality food especially fish. I stayed there for 1 month, eating at the restaurant every day, and I really enjoyed my stay!
Poor wifi overall, especially in the room. Sometimes a bad smell in the room around 10-11am. The reconstruction of the building in front of the hotel can be a bit noisy at times, it's also taking ages (not much has been done since I was here last year).

I liked the hygiene of the room which was wonderful and indeed it's value for money. The location of the hotel is also great because we were able to reach different places of stone town. The people are wonderful and the security is great for your items are always safe both at the hotel (room) and around the streets.
The food for breakfast needs a slight improvement especially the buffet selection. The elevator at the hotel needs some proper ventilation or airration because it would some times smell like mold. Other wise our entire experience was wonderful

I enjoyed that most of the sites were within a ten minute walking distance of the hotel. I am a walker and will walk anywhere under 30 minutes. It was a ten minute walk to the ferry, to the Emerson Spice hotel, and even the Peace Museum. I enjoyed that breakfast as well.
I think that the breakfast buffet should had more options. The options were limited. I also did not like that I had to get someone to rekey my keycard everyday to get into my room.

The location of the hotel was great, central therefore easy access to all the main spots. There are great restaurants around and stores so its easy to get anything you need. The rooms have been renovated to make them look more modern so they are in great condition and neat. Good value for money.
Some of the rooms I booked from the pictures did not match what was available, especially the double rooms had two different beds yet the pictures shows two same size and type of bed. We found some of the rooms not ready by the time we arrived they were still cleaning. Check in process was a bit lengthy, the staff were kinda slow we had to wait at the receptions for a while. The internet kept logging out so had to log in every other time when we came back to the hotel this meant having to go to the reception to get the password.

If you want to explore Stone Town, then this hotel is in a perfect location. But the biggest plus for me was the presence of a swimming pool. After a day of exploring Stone Town or a visit to a spice farm or national park, the pool area was perfect to unwind. My room was fine (definitely big enough for one person). It was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom could use some maintenance (but it wasn't worse than any other hotel I stayed at in Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar). The AC in the room was quite loud. The breakfast was okay (if you don't have European or US breakfast expectations you will be fine). The scrambled eggs were good and the fresh cut fruit was delicious. I had dinner in the hotel restaurant a couple of times too and these meals were great! Don't hesitate to try the Indian style food or the Kuku Paka.

We loved the garden area with the pool and the restaurant. The room was small but comfortable and easily dried out with the air conditioning. The location was perfect for walking around the town and being close to cafes and restaurants as well as walkable from the ferry port.
We were told we would get breakfast boxes upon early checkout because we had to catch the early ferry, but nothing was prepared and the reception person was rude about it. Would have liked the pool to be open longer.
