Large car park. Plenty of space. A charming old property in attractive grounds. Very quiet location. Helpful and friendly receptionists. Our second floor room was comfortable and pleasant with a view over the frontal area towards gardens. English breakfast was generally good. Service was excellent, although it wasn't busy when we ate. Very convenient location for us near Corsham and close enough to relatives in Batheaston. Bradford-on-Avon was an easy drive to see friends there.
The wet undulated gravel-over-clay car park surface was messy and puddled, owing to exceptional rainfall that weekend. The bathroom cold water pressure was very low which affected the toilet cistern. Reported it to reception. The small single slice of bacon on the English breakfast was rather mean. No marmalade for the toast on day 2 !

The room was cosy in the garden house. The shining glory is the deer, rabbits and wildlife around the grounds. I walked around and noticed how nothing is wasted, old railings are stacked along one outhouse ready for re-using, re- fencing; old plastic crates which will no doubt come in handy. The 'rubbish' is neatly compartmentalised around the grounds making it obvious that such things will be repurposed at some time. Such a relief to stay at a place where there's not a disposable attitude to things. I know times are tough too after the pandemic but some of those outhouses could do with less dilapidated doors, especially witnessing the great imagination at play with some of your staff. Winter is nearly upon us- a good time to repair some of those outhouses. Our room in the garden house was gloriously warm. Thank you. We enjoyed our evening meal. We didn't have breakfast though so can't comment. The decor is sparse which is good I think as you can adapt themes to this palette depending on event. The history in the pamphlet gives a great sense of continuity to this lovely old farmstead/manor house
Your website says you're open for lunch every day, but sometimes you don't get the chef in if no one has booked. Please amend your website to say ' please book to confirm as during low season, we occasionally work on a bookings only basis and wouldn't want to disappoint'. I only say this because we arrived hungry at lunchtime to eat before check-in but was not able. It wasn't a problem as your friendly staff recommended several blue badge holders places to eat in lovely Corsham

Great location and hotel - the rooms were super comfortable and lovely size, very comfortable and the closet and bathroom were a spacious! We enjoyed walking around the estate - wish I had more time to explore! Staff were great! There was a huge variety of food for breakfast. Huge thanks to housekeeping staff who tried to help me out with my soaked clothes!! I'd happily come again!
I think the vegan options are very limited so I didn't really enjoy my breakfast. Another guest had charged our room with their drinks and our holding fee was initially deducted. Both errors were soon rectified by a phone call. The towel dryer wasn't working in our room.

We recently stayed at this charming hotel conveniently situated within a 20-minute walk to the town center and a short 20-minute drive from the beautiful town of Bath. The room was nicely appointed with a comfortable bed and a big bathroom, all kept very clean. The decor had a lovely style, enhancing the cozy and welcoming atmosphere of the place. The garden was a delightful retreat—well-maintained and great for a leisurely stroll or a quiet moment outside. Breakfast each morning was tasty, with a good variety of options to start the day right. The staff were friendly and attentive, contributing to a very pleasant overall experience. Overall, this hotel offers a perfect blend of comfort and convenience, ideal for exploring the nearby sights or just enjoying some peace and quiet in a beautiful setting. I would certainly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Beautiful, quiet location with magnificent grounds. The room was spacious and clean. Yes, some spider webs, but that's old houses and countryside, you can't escape them! Dogs were warmly welcomed with beds & bowls in the room and even a toy to take home! The vegetarian cooked breakfast was cooked to perfection, the vegetable sausages were especially delicious, and the filter coffee was one of the best we've had in a while! Staff was very welcoming and helpful, we'll definitely stay again when coming this way!
Nothing!

The grounds are really beautiful and a lovely space to relax in. Glyn the gardener was charming and very interesting to speak to about the planting and maintenance he has done. We were in the newer part (a dog friendly room) which was pleasant, a friend had a room in the main house which was gorgeous and atmospheric.
The girl on the reception when we arrived seemed disinterested and ill informed which was a shame. The heating was on at 4pm when we arrived but off by 9.30pm so the bathroom was too cool to have a bath in the evening. The overhead shower was an older style fixed one. I think the bathroom would benefit from an update.

Such a beautiful property and amazing grounds.. Plentiful free parking on site.. Staff really welcoming, quick check in, and were attentive to even offer oat milk sachets for the room (we’re vegan). Lovely vegan cooked breakfast included. Location is amazing. A leisurely 20 min drive from central Bath, and I managed a lovely scenic run from the hotel to Castle Combe and back (a half marathon in fact!) first thing! Clean bathroom, nice bathtub, really hot water (filled the bath in a few mins!) Superb, start to finish

Hotel was in lovely grounds..
I know it was a country/Manor house..but was a bit tired with regard to decorating..our room had obviously had a new toilet installed as you could see where old one had been and there were bits of wood wedged in behind the cistern.. Our bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in..springs could be felt and had a 'roll together ' in the middle..my husband did complain after about an hour in bed and to be fair we were moved to another room..but don't feel for the money anyone should have even been offered this room

- Staff were warm and very accommodating. 11/10 - Breakfast was great. - Beds and rooms were super comfy - Views and surronding area are very beautiful.
- The Guyers guest Wifi signal in the Garden house building kept dropping. - Room 41 didnt have a shower curtain obsucring the window, room smelled strange and was too small - No way to manually operate radiators. The sound of their pipes woke me up a couple of times in room 35. - Sad piano music and candle light in the resturant for evening meals, kinda depressing atmosphere.
