I loved the location!! It was so close to everything, including the airport. The grounds & ocean views were beautiful!! Also, the breakfast was delicious with a good variety.

What I didn't like was the booking company I booked my reservation with....Booking.com. They misrepresented the rooms & info for the ISO by Castle. I booked & paid for a room with two queen sized beds with an ocean view right outside our room & sliding glass door, with the online photo showing the ocean view just a few steps away. They were very misleading & when we checked in, we were told by Rihana that the property didn't even have rooms with queen sized beds.....only rooms with double beds or a king size bed!! Something needs to be done about Booking.com being untruthful & misleading about their reservations!!

Please remember the following description of our hotel experience: We had an oceanfront view from the second floor, facing the pool, and enjoyed some privacy thanks to the nearby trees. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel's location was convenient for heading north, south, and to the west shore, and we had many activities scheduled. The hotel offers a fantastic sunrise view but could use nicer and more comfortable beach chairs. Although the beach in front of the hotel may not be the most beautiful, it was good enough for a morning or evening walk. There was plenty of parking available, and the pool was nice, clean, and had enough chairs. There was also a small fireplace where we could hang out after dinner. The breakfast was grab-and-go style, which was fine for us. Bonus is the yo Ga class at 7 AM, the instructor she is super sweet and great!

The room has so much light from electronics and AC, but we use a tower to cover it all.

The room had a fantastic view to the ocean and we could admire the sunrise even laying in the bad! Very appreciated the included breakfast that we could have under the amazing sun in the inner courtyard of the hotel. We enjoyed also the included Yoga practice open air every morning: the only sound you could ear is the ocean!

We love the relatively small size of the hotel. The ocean views are spectacular. Although it is convenient to the Coconut Marketplace and the shopping center across the street, the hotel is bordered by an open field and a canal on either side. The convenient and scenic walking path does not extend beachside of the hotel which prevents a constant parade of walkers and bikers in front of the hotel. The hotel is peaceful and private. The Bull Shed is attached to the hotel but the only noise from the restaurant is the lovely live music.The vibe at the ISO is laid back and mellow. This is our second time there and are eager to return. We also enjoy the yogurt, cereal and fresh pineapple for breakfast. It is perfect for us.The fire pit, chairs and picnic tables are spaced out nicely providing a relaxing place to view the ocean from.

I wish there was a couple of stands for our suitcases in the room and a microwave. A couple of lounge chair cushions need attention due to being very beat up.

This hotel is great value (taking into account how expensive Hawaii is generally). It has a lovely relaxed feel and beautiful view from the room with sea breezes. I enjoyed this hotel very much. It also has a Starbucks and supermarket 5 minutes walk away which is very convenient. There’s a morning yoga class which was great too.

The location is absolutely great for exploring the entire island, being situated right in the middle. The staff were wonderful, particularly the very friendly front desk team. Parking was ample and convenient, located right in front. The garden and pool area were well-kept and featured a cozy fireplace. The pool itself was very clean. The provided breakfast was decent, though coffee was missing from the main area (fortunately, there was a coffee machine in the room). We also enjoyed great views from the rooms. Plus, they offer free bike rental, which is a fantastic bonus!

Despite the air conditioning, the air in the room felt a bit wet and moist. However, I chose to sleep with the door open to enjoy the fantastic sound of the breaking waves afterwards. Additionally, the TV wasn't working for me, but honestly, being in Hawaii, I didn't really need it anyway.

Very nice hotel in a comfortable location, easily accessible with the car and with some options within a walking distance or by bike (available in the hotel to rent). The room was fully equipped, including a fridge & coffee machine. The hotel provides refillable bottle & a purified water fountain in the hall. Amenities and enough clean towels were provided for our 3 nights stays, if more needed you can ask the reception. However worth noticing they don’t have daily cleaning service, but rely on DIY services providing you with the resources to ensure a clean room & nice stay. It was surprising but we actually appreciated it as a way to reduce waste & understandable with the min staff they have. The Grab & Go breakfast is a nice concept that allowed us to enjoy beautiful sunrises from the room or the beach.

The only BUT was the staff, they were not as welcoming or helpful as most Hawaiians. We asked for recommendation for hikes, place to visit & food trucks… and they were not able to help but gave us the standard coupon magazine of the island. The service with not aloha spirit, in this sense was disappointing

The location is great. Right on the water. I'm glad they've help the property for so long and haven't sold it to a bigger developer or something like that. The room and lānai were very clean and the AC worked great although we didn't use it much. The ocean breeze was enough for us. You'd be hard pressed to find a better view for the money.

Not having access to the ice machine 24/7 slowed us down a bit when we were trying to head out early so we had to buy ice elsewhere. Breakfast needs to be earlier than 7 am. The water filling station needs to be replaced or scrubbed spotless. Pool area needs some serious attention.

This was a wonderful property that felt like part of the community, surrounded by local businesses and using a responsible amount of land. We are so glad we stayed here instead of at a resort. Some favorites: 1. Free bike rental with helmets available! The hotel is in such a bikeable area with easy access to the coastal trail. 2. Breakfast was great--a nice variety for a free grab&go-- especially the fresh pineapple. 3. We loved the pool. We didn't do the sunrise yoga, but it was neat to see it every morning. 4. The ocean views and access were excellent, and the outdoor lighting was bright enough to feel safe but dim enough that you could see stars and the ocean at night-- unlike the resorts just south of us. We loved our private balcony. 5. While there aren't laundry facilities on the premises, there's a great new laundromat just across the street. This was easy and convenient. 6. The free water bottles and water were very helpful for staying hydrated on active Kauai days of hiking, biking, and kayaking. 7. Customer Service was consistently great.

The location was excellent! I had a late flight from the mainland and wanted to stay somewhat near the airport, in an area I was familiar with. I greatly appreciated the friendly staff being there to check me in, despite the late hour. The lobby and property was immaculate (and cute! Retro Hawaiian!). They accommodated my request for a ground floor location and it overlooked the pool, with the ocean beyond! Really loved the grab and go breakfast in the morning! That was unexpected and a nice asset! Also loved the proximity to the Bull Shed restaurant! Right on property…so great and safe for a solo traveler, as I had a mai tai nightly and enjoyed the live Hawaiian music. Plenty of parking and the location is right across from McDonald’s, near Snorkel Bob’s and a Safeway! Also you can walk the oceanfront strand (walkway) all the way down the beach.
