The staff are the heart of Sudamala Resort they were to a person absolutely lovely and came across as if they really loved doing their jobs. The resort itself is very typical Bali and so so relaxing and as for the swimming pool which we couldn't tear ourselves away. The gardens in the resort are beautiful and so quiet and relaxing we found we didn't really want to do anything but laze about for the week we were there. We stayed in a "deluxe garden villa" which was very roomy and had a gorgeous private courtyard and daybed with a canopy and it was nice to come back after a meal out in the evening and just chill with a glass of wine. We are an older couple and although there were all age groups there we chose Sudamala for the fact it didn't have any "kids clubs' and although there were a handful of families there they were very respectful of others when around the pool area and the children seemed to love it and enjoy themselves. I think a lot of people went the beach or out sightseeing which had already done on various visits so for us this stay hit all the right notes. There were often times we had the pool to ourselves which was great and a real luxury. The breakfast was very tasty and the staff so attentive to all our needs. The cleaning staff were little angels that each day turned our room into a little haven to return to after a hot day "doing nothing". They check in was easy and although our room wasn't ready we just chilled by the pool until it was. We had a late flight back to Perth WA at 22.45 but because the check out is noon we had the day to just enjoy everything and then have a shower at the Sudamala Spa so it was if we had an extra day's holiday and no hassle. We were informed that Sudamala will be opening a resort in Ubud next year to add to its other resorts and we will certainly be booking that when it does occur. The Sudamala Sanur is very very clean and you would be hard pressed to find anything to complain about. It is a bit dated it parts but they will be doing a refurb in the future and this small point would not deter me from staying there again and this is from someone who very rarely goes to the same resort twice. Also take plenty of mosquito repellent as the gardens do come with a downside of having them but it's what you expect in a hot humid climate and it didn't take away from our experience.

Awesome hotel. The location is really good and just a 5 min walk to the beach with own deckchairs. Also a really lovely pool area. The bed and the rooms were lovely arranged and furnished and we had a superb stay. The staff was really friendly and helpful and assisted with each wish. Also the luggage could be stored until departure and the pool area could still be used along with the possibility to take a shower before leaving at the spa area.

The only thing that I would wish for is a longer opening hour of the pool- it close already at 7 pm. But I really love a small and relaxed swim in the evening and other hotels offer the possibility to use the pool until 9 or 10 pm…

I loved this classic Balinese hotel. The hotel building, the rooms, the yard and the pool were all excellent!

Sudamala is a stunning hotel, visually beautiful, meticulously maintained and a joy to stay in. The staff are delightful, the restaurant food is delicious and the location is great. Whilst not beachfront it is only a 5 min walk away. We highly recommend this gorgeous hotel.

There was nothing to not like...heaven!

Without doubt, the highlight of our Bali trip was the final 6 days we spent at Sudamala Resort, Sanur. This boutique hotel sits discreetly just one block back from the sea front while having its own beach section with complimentary sun loungers and parasols, right next to a lovely beach bar/restaurant. We took advantage of the hotel's cookery course to learn how to make a delicious Indonesian 3 course lunch and were looked after superbly by our hosts, Bobo, Ferry and Yudi. My apologies to the other lovely members of staff whose names I have forgotten who served us the most amazing breakfast in the morning, the reception staff who would literally do anything to help, the maintenance guy who came in less than 5 minutes to fix a blown fuse and even the gardening team who greeted everyone with a smile while working hard in the searing heat of the day. Plus of course the staff in the spa who provide an incredibly relaxing massage or other wellness treatment in a truly perfect setting. And as for our room... this was an absolute delight to return to at the end of each day, our enormous bed and bathroom with so much space to relax and refresh.

I genuinely cannot think of anything. I cannot recommend this hotel and its staff highly enough

Great location and beautiful ground floor room with private courtyard. Loved the nightly turn down service with the cookies and bedtime story scroll. Room service was excellent. Peaceful resort and very relaxing.

There were no staff at the pool for customers to get drinks or food. Some customers looked confused and were asking each other where to get drinks etc that were advertised on the promo boards near the pool. Several trips to the pool were had and each time we noticed that there was no staff there.

In Bali for work but added on a few days for some leisure. Female on my own and felt totally safe. Beautiful spacious comfortable room. I ate at the restaurant a few times when I felt hungry. The food was ok not outstanding but good. The pool was gorgeous with many very comfortable clean loungers. The grounds were immaculate and the garden perfect. Very green with vocal bird life and scuttling squirrels - loved it. The major advantage of this hotel is the power generator. Bali was plunged into darkness when I was there. A cable from Java had shut down the entire Island of all power. People were wandering around lost in the dark using their cell phone torches - wasn’t pretty. Sudamala resort had its own generator so nothing changed. I had dinner & an air conditioned room - perfect! My advice - always ask your prospective hotel if they do have a generator for back up in power outages .

The spa was a bit of a let down. 600,000 for 90 minutes. But the complimentary ginger tea & form filling of all of your pre-existing conditions 🙄 took 1/2 hour. So really it’s a one hour massage which I found misleading.

This was one of our favorite stays in Bali. It was close to the beach, which had complementary beach chairs. Close to restaurants and the Hotel was easy to fine.

The resort is beautiful. It’s more like a temple than a resort! The staff are friendly and facilities are great. The perfect spot for a couple or single. The pool area is small and quiet, which is exactly what I wanted - not the hustle and bustle of a big resort with multiple pools and bars. Probably not the spot for little kids/big families as it’s not as close to the centre of Sanur or as ‘fun’ for the kids as a big resort.

The window in the bathroom didn’t have any glass - just a bamboo blind. There was a glass door separating the shower area from the rest of the bathroom but it was a bit hot/humid due to no enclosed window. My friend’s room had a rubber seal around her glass door to stop mosquitos but mine didn’t. I have never seen a hotel where the window was open to the elements. This would be the only thing I would improve.

We had a great stay, we loved the hotel and staff. There are a lot good things about Sudamala Resort. We had a room in ground level with access to the pool, and it was fantastic, spacious and with natural light. The hotel is beautiful decorated, gardens very well maintained. Good vibes, the staff very accommodating about requests, extra pillows, laundry, etc. Food is good, the Spa is highly recommended

The only thing to consider is the location at the south end of the Sanur beach, which is not the best / more beautiful side, but if you walk 10 minutes in the north direction along the beach broadwalk you'll find better areas
