We had the ultimate room right on the waterfront. Superbly clean and generally well appointed. Bed was comfortable, the pillows came in tall or taller with no slimmer ones available, which impacted my sleep really negativly. Otherwise I thourghly recommend. Should you want to turn on the tv, it's outdated with Sky (no Netflix) and not all the remote buttons worked. We had a wonderful 3 nights here and enjoyed both restaurants that are within walking distance. Spades were available to head to Hot Water Beach. Kayaks, bicycles and a BBQ were at hand, free to use. No servicing of the unit was included. It was a peaceful spot and while our unit was waterfront (roadside), being a dead end street, there is no traffic in the night. Primo location for relaxing on the balcony with wine and cheese (there are 2 decks attached to this unit).

The manager was kind and obliging with several requests.. our room was current and very well maintained, and perfectly clean. Location exceeded our expectations, being away from the town centre busyness, and literally across the road from a safe-for-children beach, picnic tables and big shady trees. Perfect! We only wish we had booked to stay for longer and will definitely do so next time. Thank you to Paku Lodge and your people, you are ALL really wonderful! ❤️

The worst I could say is that the silicone around the bathroom skirting in our room two could be updated.. which is a 0.00000001 on the "important things" list 🤣

Stayed here to visit Coromandel area - Hot Water Beach, Cathedral Cove as everything was booked out or too expensive in Hahei. Was relatively close about a 30 minute drive to get there. Highly recommend Hot Water Beach - that was a unique experience. Our accommodation was close to the beach side which was beautiful. Rooms were very comfortable and clean.

TV sound quality and video quality was horrendous, needs to be replaced. Didn't feel super welcomed or friendly inviting vibes by the receptionist.

Everything about this motel was well above average; cleanliness, facilities, view, off-street parking, appliances and communication with manager, access to water/beach were all above our expectations.

Units were on a steep incline and may not suit people with mobility issues, but was not a problem for us. What was a little disconcerting was when we paid our accommodation, we also had to pay a bank surcharge of $24 on our $880 bill.

We really appreciated the ground floor unit with a view to the estuary which was lovely both early morning and in the late afternoon sun. We made use of the well equipped kitchenette and SkyTV. And it was a handy location to hike up to the lookout on Mt Paku. And less than 30 minutes to Hot Water Beach. Next time we look forward to spending time on the sweep of Tairua Beach.

Everything was great, two steps up to bathroom may be a problem for some people

We went to several other beach locations that were wonderful but this was our favorite and would stay here for at least a week in the future at Paku Lodge. We absolutely loved everything about our visit. The ocean view from our bed and the 2 patios were such a great way to wake up every morning. The staff and everyone we came across in Tairua were friendly and helpful, making our visit so special. The lodge had bikes, kayaks and paddle boards to explore. There were beautiful trails up the mountain with spectacular views of the ocean. The bay was so nice and calm with ocean access. The restaurants were walking distance and fabulous food. Town was also a bike ride away with many food options and lots of shopping for a small beach town.

Superb location, beach effectively on doorstep. So quiet and peaceful at night. Separate bedroom, kitchen and bedroom. All the facilities we needed for a one night stay. Could easily accommodate us for a week.

No breakfast but great facilities to make your own. Supplies readily available at supermarket just a 5 minute drive away. local restaurant just 400m away for dinner. Or get fish and chips in town.

Great sized room - well equipped for cooking, balcony with a great view, parking right outside the room door, a hose to wash your feet before entering; this resort was the perfect place to stay. Our room was so close to the beach that we could put our baby down for a nap and the monitor would reach us on the beach. We were able to book an additional night luckily due to a cancellation - we only planned to stay for a night but this area is so beautiful we wanted to stay longer. The beach in this area is full of families.

Pristine. Exceeded my expectations. They surprised us with an upgraded suite at no extra cost which was 👌 but due to health reasons I was suited better with the initial suite which they also had readily available. Friendly, helpful, attentive & kind. Effective and efficient service. Perfect sea/beach views from every room. I needed more shade in my accommodation, which they amply provided. Even gave us extra 🥛.😃. Perfect stay to visit surrounding areas and invigorating trails ( lots to choose from). Offered free kayaking and use of push bikes and laundry service.☆ Terry and family 👌great service 👏. Thank you. Also checked out sailors grave, lots of stones and a nice look out on the trail, did not go to far, as it became very muddy and turned back.

No complaints.

Top floor, spacious and comfortable with amazing views from the bedroom window. The beds are super comfy and the place is so just that I had the best night sleep of my road trip so far. There is a cafe and restaurant close by and the village with various stores and food trucks is just a few minutes drive too.

There was nothing that I didn’t like. Faultless.
