We've stayed here numerous times. This was the best room we've ever had, significantly upgraded from past rooms. We like the character of this place; it fits with Juneau. A little rundown but comfortable and good value. The staff is uniformly helpful and friendly. The best breakfast/lunch restaurant in town is attached. We also liked having a small, complete kitchen and a grocery store nearby. We walked everywhere.
This place gets very mixed reviews. People who arrive expecting a lower 48 five star experience will be disappointed. Open to the look and pace of this older place and you could have a very good time as we did. We didn't care that the shower head leaked and the toilet flushed loudly. The newer management is at work on upgrading things.

1. Location was convenient. 2. Facility was well kept (I know it's tough, you should be proud). 3. 4 of the 5 employees I interacted with, were great!!
I had to replace my room key twice, once upon checking in, and once after a long day on skiing (the office was closed so it took some time, but the caretaker was quite nice and helpful. The website that lead me to booking at the Driftwood stated there was a 24 hour airport/ferry shuttle. I unfortunately had to pay an additional $35x2 in taxi fares. The city bus was only $2, but I had luggage, timing was bad, I understand the bus no longer goes to the airport terminal.

Russell was tremendously helpful !! Appreciated all his "local" tips and suggestions. The beds were comfortable, as was the sofa. We appreciated the ground floor accommodations.
The kitchen was "sparse" - no paper towels, no tissues... We bought our own from the nearby store. No trash service during our four night stay. Barely enough toilet paper to get us through the first day! And the electrical outlets and lighting - UGH! Switches did not control the table lamps in the bedrooms; they had to be turned on by hand. Only one outlet in one of the rooms (on the far side), and only one (accessible) outlet in the other room - on the far side of both beds. Luckily we brought our own power strip! No TV in either bedroom - living room only.

Very comfortable bed, good facilities for cooking, a very hot bath or shower and spacious. Great location, minutes from central bus station.
Couldn't manage the TV, but I hardly watched it, seemed to stay on the one channel only. Place looks run down on the outside, but it's fine inside. A few homeless around the area, but I still felt safe, being a solo traveller. Had no problems at all. Just be alert, like any city

It was very clean, safe, well-situated in terms of location, restaurants, etc. The front desk was very helpful and courteous. Good amenities . A very good value, as everything in Juneau is expensive! We chose not to have a car, except for one day, and you can do well without a car at this location. The two-bedroom set up was perfect for three adults (a married couple and a single friend) travelling together.
Shower was very good, but was basically a wet bathroom/shower and could have been situated better. But not a big problem and could be handled alright. Kind of expensive, but so is everything in Juneau!

I will be honest and say that after reading some reviews I was a bit nervous to stay here. Our daughter booked it because it is a pet friendly hotel. Unfortunately our dog passed in December, but we chose to keep our reservation. We had a suite, and it was very spacious. Remember, it’s Alaska and everything in Alaska is old. This place was super clean, the staff was friendly and it is a few minute walk into the downtown area. Our overnight layover stay in Juneau was great! Thank you so much. We will definitely be staying here again the next time we fly to Alaska to visit our daughter.

Very friendly helpful reception when we arrived late at night. Very kind gentleman. Made a real difference. Room conveniently located. Comfortable room . Walking distance from port and shops, restaurant.
No breakfast Would have appreciated breakfast on the site. There was a restaurant next door, but it was terrible, loud, rough, horrible food - and there was nothing else nearby that we could identify.

First of all, the view from the rooms is amazing! It faces a mountain with a little waterfall, it's gorgeous! The hotel is a great location, it's about a 10 minute walk to downtown, also about a 10 minute walk from Cope Park (highly recommend!) and just a 15 minute drive to the airport.
It could have been cleaner, some small old stains on the bed, but nothing too bad.

The staff were very helpful for a budget motel style. The hotel was old but the rooms had been nicely renovated and were very comfortable. Location to downtown was excellent without being right in the hub bub of tourist town.
Like most places in Alaska it's expensive for what it is. But comparative to other places in Juneau this is pretty good value. A fridge in the room would have been nice.

The room was as advertised, and it had a nice refrigerator, microwave and stove. The grocery store is next door. It is an easy walk to downtown and the Tramway where everything begins. The room is in need of an update and the TV was hard to figure out but for the money, I would stay here again.
The room was showing it's age in the carpet and floor.
